When The Rails Ran Through It: The NY O&M In the Town of Otselic

Rate this book
From 1869 to 1878, the Auburn Branch of the N.Y. Oswego and Midlands Railroad carried butter, cheese, livestock, lumber and our ancestors back and forth between Cortland and Norwich. More than that, it connected the township of Otselic with the civilization and culture of the other cities of New York State and to the rest of the world. Who built this railroad through the Town of Otselic? And why!? What happened to make it prosper? Why did it disappear? Discover the rise and fall of the Auburn Branch in the Town of Otselic!

I grew up in a small country village in Central New York State. (Ever hear of Eaton, NY?)

I've been a reader all my life. I've been writing about 15 years but in the last 5 years I've gotten serious about it.
In the intervening time, I've been a plumber, pastor, associate pastor, insurance help desk, navy sonar tech, student (several times!), father, husband, son, victim of abuse, office boy, horse barn cleaner, handyman, chauffeur and companion, rape victim, homeless couch-surfer, and most recently an author and advocate for men who were sexually abused as children. I retired Spring 2014. And now I write.

I co-authored "Small Town Rescue: Men in Blue to the Rescue", with Abby McKissic-Cortez. It's published on Amazon digitally while we work on the paper version. A sequel is in the planning stage.

I wrote the novel, "Down Cellar", alone. It's a murder mystery, it's finished and waiting for the sequel I'm still writing. I'm working on the first draft of the sequel, "UpStairs", now.

A third novel, Change at Belmont, I have almost finished the first draft.

Take a look at the samples on my website and send me a comment.

Thanks for looking.
