Are we ever really free from the consequences of our pasts? This is the question that Belle, Colt, and Ruger are faced with. With the future of their relationship at stake, each of them has a part to play in resolving the histories which brought them together in the first place. Belle has started school, and is plagued with anxiety. Her obsession about returning to an environment which she hated as a child is compounded when she realizes that the instructor used to date Colt. Belle isn’t usually the jealous type, but the instructor seems to still be holding a torch for Colt, and is determined to do everything in her power to undermine Belle’s confidence in their relationship. Belle begins to obsess about her relationship with Colt, and nearly loses everything in the process. Ruger’s parents have decided to move to Florida. Once they’re gone, Ruger is left to face an uncomfortable he has nothing in his life outside of his relationship with Belle and Colt. With Belle’s obsession with Colt’s past reaching a fever pitch, Ruger feels that he’s outside the relationship looking in, with nothing to hold onto. When he misinterprets a moment between Belle and Colt, something snaps inside him. He leaves a cryptic note and disappears on an impromptu road trip, hoping to find himself outside the town limits, inadvertently forcing Colt to relive the worst year of his life. When the dust settles, will the trio survive? Or is history doomed to repeat?

Maxene Novak writes another amazingly good book. It was fantastic to revisit Belle, Ruger and Colt. To see where these characters have been and what they are doing now was a great treat. Their relationship was hard when they found each other with Colt and Ruger having a troubled past that it was good to catch up with them. As usual this author writes romance so well and can leave the reader a little hot under the collar. Amazingly well written characters that you feel invested in and love to read about. I can't recommend this book strongly enough.

Testing Temptations by Maxene Novak is book number two in the Mundane Magic series. This is the continuation story of Belle, Colt, and Ruger.

Belle, Colt, and Ruger are in a relationship. No plans have been set for their future. Each one is dealing with their own demons. Will they lose focus on the importance that each one brings to their relationship?

They experience a lot of struggles in this journey. At times I wanted to smack some sense into them. Will they end up walking away or fighting for love? I enjoyed Tassie's character again in this story.

FYI, includes mature content.

Testing Temptations is the 2nd book in the Mundane Magic series and I absolutely loved it!. A menage where each member is having to deal with personal difficulties, add in some outside interference and you get to understand how these three people, Rugar, Belle and Colt, work hard to keep their menage thriving. There is plenty of love between these three despite the obstacles they face.
I loved how they all work together to overcome anything thrown in their path and how they have plenty of support from friends. This book is very well written and kept me entertained from beginning to end. What more can a reader ask for?
