If it’s possible, I think I loved “Unloved” more so than “Unwilling”.

This time Wood crafted a phenomenal story with characters I couldn’t get out of my head. “Unloved” will have you changing your allegiances.

In “Unwilling” I was all for team Hayden and ready to slap Miss Neely. Well, the tables turned. Hayden went from adorable to downright unbearable. Neely showed how strong she truly could be. She got under my skin in a good way.

Another character you’ll love is little Lucas. How could you not care about this special guy? The circumstances surrounding his birth don’t matter. What became the important fact was the love he received from both parents.

Book two in this trilogy just floored me with the feelings—so much angst, love, and joy! I came close to having a good old-fashioned ugly cry for Neely. How things went down with her and Andrew just pushed my emotions to the edge.

But the tender moments do not distract. No. They push you forward and make you want to tear through the book to find out what happens next.

In “Unloved”, we get a concurrent story about the taniwha. I’m not an expert on Maori folklore so, I’ll just tell you to look it up. It’s worth the read.

“Unloved” gave me a better understanding of Neely’s history and helped me find sympathy with her, something that her story deserves.

Another five-star read from K.D. Wood!

Neely is trying to be a single mother to her son, Lucas, after Andrew is gone. Hayden is in the game to win Neely back in any way possible, even if this means betrayal. When she is summoned to meet with Andrew's family, with Hayden by her side, she will find herself in even more trouble.

I have enjoyed this series. The only thing I hate is that each book is released a long time after the one before and its hard to remember bits and pieces of the story. So I feel like I miss out on some knowledge here. I wish a bit of a recap could be at the beginnings of the books.

Each book is so full of action, that it's easy to forget things, so a recap would be very helpful in my opinion. Even with this issue this book was very good and kept me reading. A mother's love for her child is clearly shown here. This book was filled with action and drama and kept me up late into the night. The characters, once again, make the story. It was very well written and a good conclusion to this series. I absolutely loved the ending!

Unloved by K.D. Wood pretty much starts where Unwilling leaves off. I highly recommend reading the first book before this one as it is really important! In this book there is more of of the Maori folklore. Which I found completely interesting. The author has a unique and fun way of telling a story that leaves you enamored and wanting more. I feel like Neely grew a lot between this book and the last. She goes through and deals with so much I was glad to see her character evolve the way it did. I liked her character a lot more. I grew to like Lucas as well. I was pretty surprised at how things played out but really enjoyed the story. This story is dark with paranormal aspects so it may be sensitive to some. Hayden is trying to be there for Neely but he feels that she is not being totally upfront. I found Hayden to be a tad annoying this book. He was pretty selfish I think and could have been more understanding. This book was way better I think then book one. I am actually pretty excited and hope I get to read book 3 whenever it finally comes out. This is one of the most unique series of books I have read to date. I would say this is at least a 4 star rating!

***** 5 Cranky Stars *****

I absolutely adored “Unboundless”! Wood continues her wonderful way with words in this final book in the “Unwilling” trilogy. She’s sprinkled her brand of Southern charm throughout the story with phrases like ‘pocket pool’, ‘showing her Christmas early’, and a ‘near orgasmic breath’.

When it comes to characters, Nathan Nelson is the tops! You have to love a man who puts his woman first in life. Neely’s his best friend but he treats her right. He could easily be so much more in her life. Best book boyfriend for 2017 (okay, I know it’s early but I’m nominating him)!

Neely’s precious toddler son is back. You can’t help but love this adorable little munchkin. Even when he’s facing down a monster, he’s still adorbs.

Don’t think “Unboundless” is a peaches and cream story. There’s still drama going on in Neely’s life. And unfortunately, Mr. Grinch himself, Hayden, is right in the mix.

Back in book one, Neely was not my favorite. I wanted to slap a few times. In this book, however, I want to hug her. The girl is unbelievably strong. The way she became a mom is tragic, but her love for her son shines through. Neely is honest and wants to protect her ‘loves’.

Wood does an admirable job of intermingling the paranormal/mythological with reality. Instead of pulling the reader out of the story, it serves to captivate you more.

“Unboundless” ends on the perfect high note. I was satisfied. I didn’t get to the end and wonder if there should have been more. Every story was tied up with a neat little bow.

I truly enjoyed reading “Unboundless”. I look forward to reading more by K.D. Wood.

Wow!!
Unboundless is the last book in the trilogy and I was not disappointed. I have read the 2 previous books and couldn't wait for this one to come out.

Neely has moved on, but still yearns for Andrew, however Hayden has become more angry and wants to get Neely's child (Lucas) out of the way.
Neely has now become friends with Hayden's brother Nathan. Nathan loves Neely, but has given her space and remained as friends for the time being.

Both Neely and Hayden are having dreams about someone hurt and blood all around them. Neely is unsure of the meaning, but knows the something is not right. She must go to wrap up Andrews affairs and secure Lucas's and her future, but can she face the past of a love loss.

Evil is around and terror strikes, but who will make out alive. The Taniwha is captured and her adopted son is being held by Masa, who wants them all gone.

This book is full of twist and turns that will keep you on your toes. Emotions run high and you are on a rollercoaster ride to see what happens next.

K.D. has written an outstanding trilogy for anyone who loves paranormal or science fiction and takes you on a journey you won't forget.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Trilogy: Third book and you need to read the other books in order to follow.
Characters: Well defined and great character growth.
Writing: Smooth, developed with twists and turns.
Storyline: Paranormal/Science Fiction with suspense.

Unloved is Book 2 of a NA paranormal romance series. It contains ‘dark’ events so is best recommended for readers aged eighteen plus. It is also recommended that readers read Book 1 (Unwilling) first as the story of Neely, Hayden and Andrew continues where Unwilling ended.
After the ‘dark’ and mysterious events that happened to Neely, things aren’t exactly going smoothly in Neely’s and Hayden’s relationship. Andrew has gone into hiding, but for Hayden there is still the doubt in his mind that Neely really loved Andrew and not himself. As for Neely, not only was she struggling to come to terms with what happened to her: she was tired of constantly having to reassure Hayden of her love for him and coping with the nightmares that constantly interrupted her dreams and her sleep. When a letter arrived from Andrew she was catapulted back into the ‘dark’ and dangerous world she seemed never able to escape from. The contents of the letter send her spiralling into despair: despair for her relationship with Hayden and despair for her own sanity. Will she ever really be able to escape the nightmare world Andrew and his mother had tricked her into? Would she and Hayden ever be able to love each other without the doubt, the fear and the uncertainty?
Events take a turn for the worse when in an effort to make personal space for herself she persuades Hayden and her family to let her go off alone to her Aunt’s beach house. She never makes it because she is again kidnapped by Andrew’s mother. In the process she suffers a thrashing which leaves her sick and vulnerable. To escape his mother she has to agree to certain terms and conditions, which means she has to bargain with Andrew and ensure he does what his mother wants otherwise she kill all those Neely loves most, beginning with Hayden. To make matters worse it is Andrew who comes to her rescue especially as she cannot let Hayden know what has happened to her for his own safety.
Pressures push Neely downward as she is torn between something Andrew has that tears at her heartstrings and her desire and need to protect those she loves. When Hayden delivers her an ultimatum she is almost broken – again. Will she be able to survive? Can she bargain with Andrew and keep everyone safe? Will her love for Hayden survive and vice versa, especially as he doesn’t know the secrets she is again forced to keep from him? Will she ever be free of her nightmares and the events of her past?
In all honesty I enjoyed this book much more than the first book. K D Wood manages to spin a very convincing tale of ‘dark’ magic, paranormal dreams, intrigue and mystery. The characters were again realistic and very multi-dimensional. Neely’s character has been forced through events to develop from an immature, naïve teenager to a mature and deeply thoughtful young woman trying desperately to keep herself safe and those she loves. Hayden’s character changes as he becomes embittered through events and acts impulsively without fully giving deep thought to the consequences of his actions. His despair comes from lack of trust and belief in Neely’s love for himself causing him to act selfishly never realising the danger he puts Neely and himself in. His final actions at the end of the book show him acting selfishly in his desire to get Neely back as she once was and the fact that he is prepared to subject her to two people who have caused her harm in the past shows how changed he is.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series; Unboundless.

Unloved
By: K.D. Wood
5 out of 5 stars

The story Unloved by K.D. Wood is a new adult/fantasy/romance book. This is the continuing story of Neely McIntire. She is back home from her ordeal with Andrew and trying to press on with her life when a letter and picture show up which throws her world into chaos. She has been keeping secrets and now they threaten her future. Not only is she facing the reality that her memories are more than a bad dream, she now also must face a threat and ultimatum from Andrew’s mother. This threat will harm the one person who Neely loves the most, Hayden. Now Neely must seek out Andrew’s help. Will Neely be able to keep those closest to her safe from harm? Will Andrew help Neely? What will happen when Andrew introduces Neely to the child that is the spitting image of her?

This is the second book in an amazing series. I loved the first book Unwilling and now have fallen in love with the second one as well. The story keeps you guessing as to what will happen next and kept my interest from the very beginning. I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the last page. I was surprised about the way that my feelings for certain characters changed from the first book to the second. I admit that I wanted things to go one way with some of the characters. I then found after a while that unexpected situations and actions taken by some can lead to different outcomes. I found that the characters have begun to grow. One of the characters I love the most is Neely. She has been through some traumatic experiences however she is determined to keep going. She has strength and a strong will to survive. Neely loves Hayden and also her family very much. She finds herself in a situation where they are threatened and doesn’t even think twice of keeping them safe. This, however, will require help from Andrew. She doesn’t like this development, however, knows that it is necessary. Will Andrew help Neely protect those she loves the most? Neely also is faced with the reality of a child that she was thinking was only a dream. Will Neely find her resolve to not involve herself in this child’s life wavering?

Both Andrew and Hayden have their parts to play in this story. Andrew is the one that can help Neely and Hayden as the one that wants to push forward with his life with Neely. What will the outcome be for both of them? Andrew is still in love with Neely. Does she have any feelings for him at all? Hayden wants to take the next step in his relationship with Neely. What does the future hold for their relationship? Read this book to find out what happens next in the lives of Neely, Hayden, and Andrew. This is an author that has a wonderful way of weaving stories that are hard to forget. I look forward to reading more of her books. I highly recommend reading this series in order as the storyline flows from one book to the next.

The Unwilling Series is a gem of a series that deserves way more attention then it gets. This series does not follow any typical tropes nor does the story feel forced. As you read, each book transitions seamlessly into the other and you are just happy to be along for the journey.

I waited for over a year to read Unboundless and it was well worth the wait. you are always a little nervous with a final book in a series, but this book was everything I hoped for and more. I laughed, I cried (a lot), smiled and blushed my way through this book

This series is ultimately the journey of Neely. We first meet her as a young insecure girl, who has been in love with her best friend Hayden forever. Her life is forever changed by a horrific incident that sends her life and plans spinning. Neely is forced to rediscover who she is, what she wants and who she ultimately loves throughout this series.

Neely is still reeling from the death of Andrew and knows there are others out their plotting to take away her son Lucas, but this time she is not dealing with her grief and fears alone, she has Nathan by her side. For the first time since losing everything, she can just be her messy hectic self. She doesn't have to pretend to be okay, she doesn't have to hid what she is feeling or bend herself to the will of another. Nathan allows her to just be and to work out her life on her own terms. It is this support and love that allows Neely to finally heal and grow into the women she was meant to be.

Nathan in this book, stole a piece of my heart. He was such a revelation in this book. Who couldn't fall in love with this guy! He had his own journey to take in this series and it intertwines with Neely. Nathan is also broken by the past and has made his own mistakes but understands that Neely desperately needs a friend. As he helps Neely, Nathan begins to walk out his own healing.

I was so happy that Andrew's essences was still throughout this book. It was Andrew that set Neely's journey into motion and was glad that he was still apart of her life to the very end. He was not only instrumental in changing Neely's life but Nathan's as well, and was glad he was accepted by Nathan.

This was a wonderful and satisfying conclusion to this amazing series. The final book was all that I hoped it would be and more. Kudos to KD Wood for creating a truly unique and interesting story that I will enjoy for years to come

Unloved by KD Wood 5 Stars

This book has it all!! Full of emotion, drama, plot twists, love, and secrets. If you haven't read the first book of the trilogy, Unwilling by KD Wood, stop and read it now! You won't be disappointed! This review may contain spoilers from the first book as this book continues the story where it left off.

This paranormal romance (series) is the first one of it's kind I have ever read. It took a moment to grasp the story in the first book, but once I got into the story, I couldn't put it down. This book picks up after Neeley McIntire returns from New Zealand. She still has a ton of secrets she is keeping. She tests the waters by opening up a little bit to her therapist, but even the little bit she tells gets dismissed as delusions she had while suffering from the high fevers. After that, she has no intentions of telling anyone the full story of what happened during that time she was away. Neeley's relationship with her parents is rocky, at best. She decides it would be better to move in with her Aunt GiGi. She is working on the relationship with her parents, but with everything she is hiding it makes the task tough.

She is also trying to restore her relationship with her boyfriend and lifelong best friend, Hayden. She wants more than anything to forget the whole ordeal with Andrew and move on with the love of her life. She keeps telling Hayden she just needs time, and he has been very patient. She knows they have a future, but she has to deal with the past and the secrets that haunt her first. On the day that Hayden was planning on proposing, Neeley receives a letter that changes everything. Her time is up and she needs to tell everything that happened or risk her relationship with Hayden.

This is a must read, suspense filled book. Even if you have never read paranormal romance before, I highly recommend starting with this one.

Unloved by K. D. Wood is a four star novel and the second in the Unwilling series. I highly recommend to read Unwilling before picking up this book. In the first book, Neely had been kidnapped by Andrew and his mom. His mother, Margaret, is crazy and decided Neely was his perfect match and they needed to mate. After Neely was rescued by her boyfriend, Hayden, in New Zealand, she was in a coma for a long time and had some memory loss. Crazy things happened to her while she was with Andrew and she couldn't trust her own memories. She decided to leave out the weirdest things when talking to her family about what happened to her. Now, she has received a package from Andrew confirming her nightmare. He tells her she has a son. How can this be possible when she remembers only a shimmering being coming out of her in the ocean around New Zealand but not an actual human baby. This has to be a mistake. She needs to find out the truth before she tells Hayden anything. But she learns that Hayden wants to take their relationship to the next level but how can she possibly agree when there are all these secrets between them. She then gets abducted by Margaret who wants only her baby. The one she just learned about. After the ultimatum Neely is given she knows she needs to turn over her son that she didn't even know existed. After she meets him though, will she be able to pass him over to the lady who is responsible for everything that has gone wrong in her life? The boy looks just like Neely it is unnerving. Now she needs to decide who is more important, her son, or the love of her life.

Unloved
By K. D. Wood
4 Star Review

Unloved by K. D. Wood is a four star read and is the continuing story of Neely McIntire. I highly suggest you read the first book in this series.

Neely McIntire is trying to recover from everything she endured a year ago. She is currently living with an aunt and trying to move past all the events that caused her to leave her family.

Hayden Nelson her best friend and boyfriend, is trying to be there for her, but he knows that she is not telling him everything.

Andrew is still in love with Neely, in the beginning of this story he sends Neely a package regarding their son. He is hoping that with her big heart she will be able to forgive him and they can move past the circumstances for their son.

I was very surprised in the changes in the characters of the story. Neely, is truly an amazing character, she is finding the strength to survive and move forward. I was so proud of her and the amount of courage she portrayed in this story. I was extremely disappointed in Hayden, I felt like he wasn’t very understanding and was just selfish. Andrew, what can I say about Andrew, is there enough forgiveness in Neely to give him a chance?

I really enjoyed this story, probably more so then the first because I saw the characters come into who they are. I felt like I was really getting to know the characters and seeing them grow.

“Unloved” by K.D Wood is a gripping read right from the very beginning!
The story starts as one year later and has a very intriguing and enticing beginning. It really captivated me to continue reading the book, I just couldn't put it down!
The book then eases into the different aspects of the story, showcasing each character and slowly revealing the details of the real story at hand.

K.D Wood has a way with words that really bring the characters in this book to life. All the characters in “Unloved” are described and written so well that you feel like you really know them!

The main character, Neely, is introduced as a very fragile woman with a lot of personal and family issues, but slowly the truth as to why comes apparent. Her character is written beautifully, described perfectly and in the end she is a strong woman that has overcome a lot of obstacles.
The other main character, Andrew, is shown to be a loving, doting and caring father, but all is not as is seems as he has some of his own issues.

There is also a brilliant love triangle (or square even) in this book that was tugging at my heartstrings from the beginning! (I just can't resist a good love debacle)

All in all “Unloved” is a great read for anyone who loves some romance and sci-fi! This genre would never have been a first pick of mine, but I can safely say that K.D Wood has changed that for me!

Unloved by K.D. Wood is book two of a paranormal/fantasy romance trilogy that is so imaginative and original that is has me truly hooked.

I would recommend that you read Unwilling first as this is not a stand alone book. Neely, our heroine, goes through so much in the first book and there is so much more in this second. And I feel there is going to be so much more in the third too.

This book is better than the first and I feel the third will surpass this. The story and character progression is such that it has to. This is a deeply compelling story that is gripping, dangerous, heartbreaking and sweet all at the same time. The characters and emotions are so raw and real that you really do feel the intensity of the situation they are in and the emotions that come with it.

There are many themes that run through this book that are woven together amazingly in the writing that will make it a definite “will read again”.

I really enjoyed the change in relationships in this story and how I ended up feeling about certain characters. It is a true reflection of how intense circumstances can change people and show their true colours.

This book is enchanting and breathtaking as is the first. And i will be finding out if the third will be as I cannot wait to read it! This author is firmly on my must read list.

Unloved by K.D. Wood
Four Stars

Unloved is the next book in the Unwilling Series by K.D. Wood. This is the continuation of Neely McIntire’s story. You should definitely read Unwilling first as this begins where Unwilling left off. I love this series and the way the author pulls you in with great character descriptions and a plot line that doesn't end. There are twists and turns and mystery and suspense mixed with the romance.

A year after Neely’s tragic events with Andrew when she returns home. She is trying to forget the past instead of dealing with it. The mystery starts unraveling when a pictures and letters start showing up in her mailbox. Neely has been relying on Hayden to help her through, but Andrew’s mother, Margaret has threatened Neely’s secrets. Neely must enlist Andrew’s aid to protect Hayden.

Will Andrew help Neely? Will Neely be able to keep those close to her safe? What will happen when Andrew introduces Neely to a girl that looks just like her when she was younger? Will Andrew and Neely rekindle their relationship? This was a real roller coaster of emotions. Make sure you have a box of tissues on hand when you read this story. I was rooting for a happily ever after, but not sure what that is with all the curveballs thrown into this story. I eagerly looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Truly Fantastic Read!

*I read this book in its beta phase.*

This book... Oh, what can I say that I haven't said in my reviews for the first two of this series? It is a fantastic ride that keeps you thinking, "She (KD) better not do this to me." "Stop." "WHAT IS HAPPENING?!"

Unboundless perfectly tied up all of the lose ends from the trilogy yet still left you wanting more from these characters. In true KD fashion, she made you feel all the emotions--happiness, sadness, shock, disbelief, and even heck yes! You finally get to see Neely as her own person, making her own decisions, taking care of herself (and Lucas), and managing to start her life... as long as she can protect Lucas from the tribe!

Unboundless is the conclusion of K.D. Wood’s paranormal series Unwilling. I have been following Neely’s story from the beginning and every time I see water lilies, I think of her and her story … Neely is back from New Zealand and she thinks that the nightmare with Andrew was just bad dreams until … she gets a photo in the mail … a photo that makes everything to fall into pieces … the burden of secrets is heavy and she no longer manages to carry them alone … there are threats from all around, she does not know who she can trust … she does not know who she loves and who truly loves her …
Even though the series seem to be intended for young adults, I think anyone who loves paranormal genre can enjoy it … some of the topics that are introduced are mature and it is easy to relate to them … the love of a mother to a child ... I think this third book was the most powerful … the angst, the love, the joy … the tenderness and the pain … they are all part of life … real or unreal … paranormal or no paranormal … and cherry on the top, for me personally, the Maori folklore … the story of the taniwha …

I absolutely adored this final book in the “Unwilling” trilogy!

Wood continues her wonderful way with words in “Unboundless”. Some of my favorites include ‘pocket pool’, ‘showing her Christmas early’, and a ‘near orgasmic breath’. You can read it for yourself to learn where those phrases fit in.

My absolute all-time favorite character in this book has to be Nathan. Oh my goodness! I just love this man—he’s tender, passionate, and so thoughtless. He’s Neely’s best friend and wants to be so much more. But he always thinks of what’s best for her. Swoon….

Lucas, Neely’s adorable son, is back and he’s even more precious. He’s a toddler who will repeat everything he hears. His comments about Hayden, a young man who’d give The Grinch a run for his money, are simply priceless (and sadly true).

The plot of “Unboundless” isn’t all peaches and cream. There’s a bad mad and an evil witch who are after young Lucas. It’s a threat throughout most of the book. And unfortunately, Hayden’s hateful self is right in the mix.

Once again, Neely’s strength shines through. Even with all of the drama going on, she’s honest and only wants to protect her ‘loves’.

I love how Wood intermingles the paranormal/mythological with reality. It’s done in such a matter that the story captivates instead of distracts.

The best part is how Wood tied up Neely’s story. It’s satisfying. I didn’t finish the book and feel like more should have been said. Sure, there’s the possibility of spin-offs or simply that special holiday story. But if we never get one, you’ll be happy with how everyone turns out.

I truly enjoyed reading “Unboundless”. I look forward to reading more by K.D. Wood.
