The trouble with anthologies and also the point of, is that they're a mixed bag. So, my favourites were: A Haunted Island by Algernon Blackwood The Derelict by William H. Hodgson The Story of the Moor Road by E & H. Her on The Seeker of Souls by Jasper John Lost Hearts by MR James The Blank Leaves by RH Malden The Colour out of Space by HP Lovecraft The House of Balfother by William C Dickinson Ringing the Changes by Robert F Aickman
I'm not saying all the other stories were of low quality, they just didn't quite spook or unnerve me enough. But a book worth looking at alone for the gorgeously gruesome cover art by John Dyke.
