This one was even sillier than the last book.
Wouldn’t have even scrolled through if it weren’t for free.
It is a full blown Highschool drama. Everyone gets petty and self serving. Acting like dumb and dumber, blaming and pointing fingers, getting themselves killed by being just plain stupid and reckless.
Like stereotypical redneck behaviour.

After reading the extinction cycle series before, the characters in this agora virus series just felt petty minded and egoistic.
The building of the pandemic and the main character being a germaphobe was great, but the world building lacked, especially when it comes to certain and small details.

The continuation of nonsensical decisions being made in an apocalyptic environment. Absolute silliness that an antagonist from the 1st book, the corrupt cop Chester, got brought back in as the central plot agent this time. Such an extremely petty motive that must be believed in order for this book's plot to even happen. This third book was far too much of this type of thing.

This review is for the full series audiobook- The Agora Virus a collection of 3 eBooks by Jack Hunt: Phobia, Anxiety and Strain. These stories follow the journey of germaphobe Frank Talbot, his college-aged daughter Ella and his ex-wife Kate (a CDC epidemiologist.) a lethal flu virus is ravaging the population and tipping the world into chaos. No one is safe and Frank has to face his greatest fears to get his family to safety. The only hope of survival is his cottage on one of the isolated islands in the St. Lawrence River but dangers come in all forms and what Frank is quickly learning, is the human filth is much deadlier than his fears of sickness. A deadly pandemic story to listen to during Lockdown during a global pandemic. Absolutely loved this book, follows several POV's and Adam Verner has done a fantastic job at narration.

I don’t think I could’ve put this book down

Even if I wanted to take a break, I couldn’t. This series as well as the other I’ve blown through have been incredible. Honestly I’m thankful I stumbled upon his books because he’s become a favorite! I will read everything he publishes. This series was amazing, the depth of the characters and the development throughout each book... fantastic. I never like when authors try to build a story around shallow character development, the books ALWAYS fall flat. Jack Hunt does a FANTASTIC job of building incredible stories around incredibly well developed characters. He has a gift and I’m thankful that I’ve come across his writing. Thank you.

Good story looking for great editor

The story was good, above average PA story. The problem with this one is it looks like it skipped the editor's pen. I noticed several spelling and grammar errors, enough for them to catch my attention. I'm pretty forgiving of one here or there, especially when I am basically getting to read a book for free (with Kindle Unlimited). But this one needed another pass through. It wasn't bad enough to ruin the story but it was a bit distracting at times.

Great Trilogy!

Recommended read. The story kept me reading right thru all three books and interested in each storyline as they merged back and forth until the the end. Many times I wanted to bitch slap a few of the good guys and see some major justice done and eventually the story line finished in a satisfied way although sometimes not as spectacular as I would have have wished. This isn't a fairytale but gives a realistic look at what could happen if there ever were a pandemic worldwide.

Well, .....

..... that's the end of another fantastic series by Jack Hunt!!! The action in book three is the best of all three books! AND it keeps you guessing what's going to happen next. You think something will happen one way and you get blindsided!!! I totally loved this series!!! "Why give it 3 Stars then?" you may ask! !! Because out of all three books the editing of book 3 is really crap! If it's not edited correctly, then it ruins the whole book. I'm not talking about 2, 3 or even 5 errors, but multiple errors. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 Stars!!!!!

Nice read

The story (the whole series for that matter) is good and well told. I only gave three stars for two reasons. 1. The sheer number of typos and grammatical mistakes are hard to ignore. The manuscript wouldn’t even make it past spell check in MS Word. The second is more subjective... I think the story line got a little too cliche and predictable at times. Otherwise, a very enjoyable read. I liked the character Developement of the main characters of the protagonists. The bad guys could have used a little more character development to give them more depth.

Scary but Realistic look at an apocalyptic future

Hunt’s book was entertaining and had interesting characters. It’s a bit scary to think of the things people might do in a situation where survival is paramount, but it’s perfectly realistic to believe that civilized society can devolve into chaos extremely quickly when people are faced with what they must do tin ensure that survival. And the worst kind of people can and will do horrible things without society to keep them in check. Good read.

Outstanding

I read all three books and thoroughly enjoyed them. Except for a few grammatical errors the reading was easy and enjoyable. I became immersed in the characters and felt like I was living there trials and tribulations. I was even to point that if someone coughed behind me I was worried that they may be infected.

Not the average Hero is a Badass book.

I have really enjoyed the series. It's refreshing to read a series where the main Character is actually human and suffers like everyone else and doesn't always have the right answer or makes the best choices. Nicely written and thought out. Looking forward to reading more of your books!

This story was pretty bad. So much in it made no sense. Random people behaving like idiots just to move the plot forward. Characters choosing to ignore obvious danger just for some extra drama. Main character who is supposed to have OCD barely makes any mention of it and is suddenly acting cured! CDC doctor asking where the brachial artery is....So many plot holes!

4 stars because

I realy enjoyed it. Loved the characters but, I WANT MORE!!! Maybe a couple more books but longer. Kate and Jake just got there. Did Frank rebuild his house? Ella forgive her mom? How are they all living? Hunting? Scavenging? Is there any more infected alive? Did they find a cure? I have read other books of yours Jack Hunt and I want more!!!

Disappointed in this book

The series started out with a great premise and storyline. But it got lost in the murder and mayhem and turned from a dystopian apocalyptic series to a thriller one. Lots of bloody violence which seemed unnecessary to me. The biggest disappointment was the ending of Kate’s storyline. She went from being in the hands of infectious murderers to nothing.

Thrilling

Book 3 was not a disappointment. Lots of action, lots of what society could be like if basics are gone. Human kindness seems to dissipate and it's every man for him/her self, survival of the fittest. There's a bit more language and sexual overtones in this story. I'd probably rate it PG-13. Hope to see more of Frank and friends. Great job. Thank you.

A Timely Read

Jack Hunt nails it when it comes to writing post-apocalyptic stories that hit a nerve - and how timely indeed! His stories are thrilling, edgy and hook you in just the first few pages. Hard to put down and easy to imagine, Jack's books are a must read for these times.

Great read

I thoroughly enjoyed this three book series. I'm a big fan of the apoc/zompoc genre. The characters are believable if sometimes a bit nieve. The story was very well written and laid out in a logical pattern.

EXCELLENT SERIES

I found all three of the books in this series interesting and well written. I especially appreciated a positive undertone often missing In apocalyptic novels. I plan to read all Mr Hunt's work!

Another hit as far as I am concerned

I planned on just reading one more cheaper and turning in early. 2 1/2 hours latter I finished the book. I really like how this author can keep the story flowing. Can't wait to read more of his books.

Pretty good series

First and third books the best, but second necessary for continuity. But I swear - if I NEVER hear/read the word smirk/smirking again it will be too bloody soon !!!

Good, better, best.

Each character grew, developed and gained strength with each book. I'll read these again. Thanks Jack. It was a pleasure to read an EOTWAWKI story with a new take.

Great story teller

When I read i want to be transported into the story. Jack Hunt has a way of getting you there. I love his interaction with Mark Tuffo, one of my faves in this type of novel. Great read

Good author and good book

I’ve read another post-apocalyptic series by this author that I enjoyed and I have enjoyed this one as well. I especially liked the irony of an OCD “germaphobe” dealing with a pandemic. Good characters. I look forward to reading more of his books!

Fun J Hunt read.

Kept me interested and I liked that the battles between the good guys and the bad went back and forth. I think the last battle needed more details on who got who when.

Great psych disorder insight

Having OCD in my family, I was immediately interested and it kept me there through all the series.
I wish the series was longer!

Not bad at all

Kept it moving though sometimes characters seemed to disappear tighten up the loose ends and I would give it a five.
