Tessa Hunt is a former English major and current barista who’s stuck working at Starbucks. She’s got a huge family she loves, a pile of books in her ‘to be read’ pile, and a best friend she’s never met. D came into her life accidentally via an X-rated picture sent to the wrong number one late night five months ago, and the pair of them have been trading texts and secrets ever since. When D invites her to finally meet at a rock concert, in person, because he has a job opportunity for her, she discovers that her hilarious dorky best friend D is the world-famous Dash Todd, from Black Lilith. The job he’s lined up for her is shadowing Black Lilith for their Sinful Rhythms tour and writing an article about them for Rolling Stone! That’s the sort of thing that launches careers. But when Tessa tries to coax Dash into a more serious relationship, she realizes that things aren’t as easy as she thought they would be. Dash makes her weak in knees, but he goes cold the moment she tries to get serious. After so many years of effortless sex with groupies, she can hardly blame him for wanting to avoid commitment. When another man vies for Tessa’s attention, she needs to decide whether to pursue a relationship with someone who is actually interested or to wait for her rockstar best friend.
Hazel Jacobs is a passionate fan of romance novels and a crazy fan of rock and roll. Never trained as a writer, she began creative writing as a hobby. That quickly evolved into a mission to pen a novel that brings a new generation of readers into the wild realm of loud music and total passion.
Well you see, I fell in love with Dash Todd during book one of this series. He was seemingly the perfect combo of nerdy and hot, and those two adjectives are all I really need to fall in love with a book boyfriend. Add in the fact that he's the lead guitarist in a band, and I was swooning hard.
Fast forward to book four and Hazel Jacobs proves that everything all of us fangirls assumed about Dash Todd was true. So hot, so nerdy... sigh. Not only that, but she gives us an amazing heroine in Tessa. She's a book nerd! What??? She's just as nerdy as Dash! WHAT??? She is smart and sweet and helps her father take care of her siblings! Is this girl perfect or what? I mean I really thought Dash and I were meant to be, but if it can't be me.. I'm so happy that it's Tessa because she is absolutely PERFECTION!
Just like the rest of the Black Lilith series, this story wasn't just a love story. It was a story about friendship and family! It was about the band and not just the main couple. This is the last book in this series and while I am so sad that it's over, I'm so glad that it happened! Sigh, I love this series. Black Lilith forever!
**Text messages between friends** Friend: What book did you finish reading? Me: Sinful Rhythms by Hazel Jacobs. It was so good! You have to read it. Friend: How good was it? A 4 star read or a 5 star read? Me: 5 stars! We finally get to read Dash's story. Friend: Is this the series about a band? Me: Yes! They're called Black Lilith. Friend: So what made it good? Me: Dash and Tessa have this thing that they send texts to one another because that's how they met. Their banter is just so good and their chemistry is even better. I've been curious to see what these two have been talking about ever since Make Me. Oh and one of the best parts is that they both are kinda nerdy and hot. They had a bunch of pop culture references like Harry Potter, Star Wars and Casper. I just love when authors have references that make the characters so relatable. Overall, it was a great read!
When I first met Dash I had feeling he was going to be my favourite and now after reading and finishing his book I was right! I am completely crazy about Dash, I love that he is dork, but behind closed doors he's a complete alpha Dom in every way possible. There is no way you could say no Dash. He will have you wrapped around his finger with a snap of his fingers like that! This also happens to be my favourite book in the whole series. I couldn't be more proud of Hazel. Doll you did these boys justice in a way I can't put into words! And Tessa she is favourite of girls as well. Amazing outstanding job 5 stars +!!

This books was so sweet n funny n just everything!!
A perfect end to the series. (Or maybe the author may give us some more, who knows)
Sinful Rhythms marks the end of the journey of Black Lilith series {which is sad because I loved each n every guy n going to miss them }
For me this book was light, quick and a fun Read with really good Hot scenes ;) It was wonderful to be a part of this series.
This book was the story of Dash the goofiest, sexiest, adorable n youngest band member. As everyone had got someone in their life Dash who was always an all smiles kind of person who would never show what he's actually feeling had felt left out but he was truly happy for them.Then a particular accident made him meet Tessa. Their friendship grew while texting (aka sexting) each other. They were tuned to each other, even though they have never met since they only texted. Then D (aka Dash) gives an opportunity to Tessa n also a chance to see each other after all the 5 months of texting each other.
When they met it was like wow ( I loved that part)
Sometimes you just k ow that this person or thing will be good for you, the change n the risk you took will maybe worth it because you need to let go sometimes. We all know life is filled with tough decisions, but we have to jump or just be where you are and are left with questioning ourselves.
Tessa took the risk n jumped just waiting that whatever happens it'll be good. I really really Liked Tessa's character. She stood for what she wanted n aimed for the bullseye. She was true to her work n tried to balance herself between people who she never met.
Dash and Tessa's story was very simple yet very meaningful.
I liked them and would love to read more from this author.
So read this book and give this author a chance. She'll make you fall in love with the characters.
You'll defnitely want to be part of this gang ( Trust me, they are too cool n damn funny)
So on Thank You note, I give my love to Dear Hazel Jacob for giving us something n sharing her work with us and also for sharing these guys they are adorable with crazy sex appeal *enterdeepsigh*
Yup that's totally Dash. I love this nerdy dorky sweet guitarist. He's the youngest band member, he's Logan's little brother. Like the rest of the band's member, he's also clueless about relationship. He hides his feelings, he never talked about it with anyone else, and it's really frustrating for me, I wanted to shake some senses to him, I really want to know what's in his head that made him doing some stupid things most of the time. But hey I still love him, it's hard not to love this adorable boy. As for Tessa, she's a really straight forward girl, a realistic kind of girl and a girl who wants the best for her family. I admire this girl a lot. Although I felt she's a bit pushy sometimes, but when it comes to a boy like Dash, I think you need to be a bit pushy, so I totally understand her. Dash and Tessa definitely perfect for each others.
So let's talk about the book. This is the last book of the series, so it's really sad to say goodbye to this awesome band. This book got friends to lover's vibe, so this one is super sweet story. I was excited to read this, because it's my dorky Dash story, THE Dash who owns loch Ness monster in his pants. Yup I was super excited. Love the tensions that the author gives from the beginning, it's such a tease to something hot and sweet in the first few chapters, and the banters between all the characters definitely my fav part in this book. I felt something missing, I kind of wait and expecting the grand gesture like the previous books gave me and in the end this book makes me want more. But I really enjoying reading it. I love the frustration, the laughs and love, the characters, the banters.
If you love Rock Romance with dorky sweet boy, you need to try this one. You need to read the Black Lilith series, is a MUST-READ series.
As a big fan of the Black Lilith series I was so looking forward to finally having Dash's story and Hazel Jacobs did not disappoint. Dash's story has you laughing, feeling anxious as he struggles with change and finally smiling as his family help him realize that change sometimes isn't all bad. His story made me fall in love with him and his sexy dorky ways, but in saying that my heart still firmly belongs to Logan. So if you have not rocked out with the Black Lilith boys yet rectify that now and one click today. Sad to see this great series come to an end, but so glad these rock gods became a part of my book family. Hands down a five star read.
IDK, , maybe my favorite of the four but much of Dash's fun taken away when he meets Tessa and gets nervous and acts so different. Tessa is well developed as a character. We love her family and her desire to do a good job at whatever she sets out because her family could use the money.
So Dash doesn't seem to grow (up) much until really forced and it's awkward all the way around.
I do love the ending as it neatly ties the series to an end. And I'm hungry for cake now.
For starters I think this was a great wrap up to a fantastic series. I loved following the stories of all the men of the Black Lilith band and was certainly happy to not only see Dash find his match, but also to have the opportunity to revisit with all the previous couples.
This story centered around the youngest member of the band, Dash Todd, and his best friend turned group interviewer Tessa. The two of them meet over a picture sent to the wrong number and from there a friendship involving get to know you tales and sexy pics began. In the beginning of this story the two are finally meeting face-to-face and from there it takes off into a fantastic slow build of the story as I saw these two attempting to navigate the lines between friendship and something more.
Dash and Tessa were both wonderful characters. Dash was funny and musical and somewhat awkward and kind of dorky and an absolutely lovable leading man. Tessa was very family-oriented and I love that about her. She also seems like a really good friend to Dash, and I love how easily she seemed to fit in with the rest of the members of the band and their ladies once everyone finally met. Their relationship had that slow build, friends to lovers feel to it that I am definitely a fan of.
While this certainly will go down as a really good series finisher and an overall really good story for me, I will admit that I felt the resolution of things between Dash and Tessa was a little bit rushed. Or maybe just in comparison to the really big hurtles or issues that the previous three couples had to overcome, the issues between Dash and Tessa didn't seem as big, or as major. I kept waiting for this big thing that Dash was hiding or this seemingly life altering challenge to overcome or just something that they have to work passed to have this big resolution moment, and I didn't get it.
But at the same time the story line, the characters themselves, and the relationship between everyone in the story really worked for me and made for a good read. I'm sad to see it all end, but it was a great journey.
Reviewed on behalf of amo and Sarah's book corner for an honest review.
I've loved every book in this series and finally it's dash's turn in the limelight
Tessa Hunt is a former English major who is stuck in a dead end job working as a Batista in Starbucks. She has a hugh family to take care of after her mom ran off and left her dad to take care of six other children.
D or Dash comes crashing into Tessa's life after an x rated picture gets sent to her phone by accident they start talking sending dirty pictures to each other for 5 months.
so when D askes her to a rock concert to finally meet she doesn't know that D is actually Dash from rock band Black Lilith. Tessa is then asked if she would like to stick around and interview the band for an article in rolling stone magazine she jumps at the chance.
Tessa and Dash become best friends and start a friends with benefits relationship but then feelings get involved.
It's a cracking book and fantastic end to the series. Dash is a little saucy in the bedroom and I love it. Tessa is a cracker of a female lead but all the ladies in these books have been strong females.
So now we know who Dash as been texting. Dash accidentally sends a..... picture to the wrong person. Not expecting that one mistake to introduce him to someone who becomes his best friend.
When Tessa get a strange text she almost lets it go but instead a decides to text back. What starts off as a mistaken text turns into months of texting each other and the start of a great friendship. Well not typical friends they don't actually know who the other is but it's all in fun anyway. The day comes when Dash wants to meet and he offers Tessa a chance of a lifetime. What she gets is so much more...
These two are wonderful! Dash has always been one of my favorites, he's funny, sexy and yes a little nerdy. He and Tessa fit together so well. I loved their story and couldn't seem to put it down once I started it. This has been one of my favorite series and I really hate to see it come to an end. Check them out.... you're gonna love them.
Sweet ending to a really good series. Dash, the last unattached member of Black Lilith accidentally sends a dic pic to the wrong number, who would have guessed that would lead to getting a best friend and love, certainly not Tessa aka "T".. Five months of texting and sexting with the mysterious "D" is all Tessa has time for trying to help keep her family afloat but when D offers T an job better suited to her English Lit degree than working at Starbucks she gets the shock of her life. Dash is thrilled to meet Tessa and Tessa is floored to find out she's been cyber dating the guitarist of Black Lilith, but turning that into a real relationship isn't easy and pretty much takes the whole Black Lilith family to make it happen. It was fun reliving the other band members screw ups while Dash and Tessa are being steered in the right direction. Epilogue was awesome, hope this really isn't goodbye.
Absolutely loved Dash right from the start of this series!! And couldn't wait for his story, and Hazel you did not disappoint with Dash and Tessa's story!! It all started with an accidental text of a D pic!! Love these two together the sexting the chemistry the banter!! I am a bit sad to see the end of this Black Lilith series!! All these books were amazing!!
I have all of the books is this series and love every single one. I would definitely recommend to read these books. You would have to start with the first book first. I will be reading them in the future again soon. I hope there are more to come.
I loved this story so much. It brought out all the feels. Tessa and Dash had such great chemistry and I got a little sad that the book was over when I got to the end.
I loved all the books on the band. They each have there own twist . I could not put any of them down. I wish I could get more on there futures, they are such great books.
This book made me so sad. Sad it wasn't longer, sad the series ends here, sad that I wanted more of this band and I can't get enough!!! Aside from that, it had me laughing so hard with the bromance going on. Dash and Tessa are adorable!
When Tessa receives a random pic from a very well endowed man one night she starts a friendship with the mysterious "D" who sext her and talks with her via text for five months until he wants to meet her at a Black Lilith concert. When she sees her friend is no other than Dash a member to the band she is floored. Then Dash and the rest of Black Lilith ask her to write a story for them that will be published in Rolling Stone she knows this a writers dream and she can't say no. When she tries to figure out where her and Dash are going he withdraws and makes it clear they are only friends that kiss and touch, nothing more. So now Tessa must decide if she is willing to suffer heartbreak by waiting on Dash or is she will to start something new with someone else? This book was the perfect ending of this series. So sad to see it end but it will definitely be a series I come back to again and again. Hazel Jacobs did so well with maturing her rockers before my eyes. The strong women that they were paired with were perfect. Great book, AMAZING SERIES!!!
~~~~~~~~~~Lindsey's ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
I seriously think that my tablet almost melted! Wow! Awesome book!
As a huge lover of the Black Lilith Series this book was going to be a hard one to read being that it is the final in the series. Dash has always been fun loving and also the hot dork of the group. With his signature pop culture t shirt collection including Harry Potter, Dash was the surprise package and boy what a package he has, whoops is. A friendship that develops with Tessa over an accidental text message that Dash sends out turns into a job offer from the band to Tessa. As Dash struggles with not only his feelings for Tessa but his dislike for change that is going on around him as the other band members settle into their serious relationships, this starts to cause problems with his friendship with her. This final instalment shows us a different side to not only Dash but his brother Logan. As our fun loving Dash turns into a very insecure guy we see the struggle that he is suffering as he feels change will cause his family to fall apart. Will Dash realize soon enough before he pushes Tessa away that sometimes taking a chance on change can only make things better. Dash's story will not only have you feeling his highs and lows but will have you laughing at the text messages between him and Tessa. We also get to visit with the other band members who have become part of our family and also see how these people welcome others into their fold. As the final page is turned not only will you smile but you will shed a tear as we say goodbye to the Black Lilith Family . Just know that all our guys have strong women behind them to be their support. Hazel Jacobs has done an amazing job with Dash's story and the whole Black Lilith series and should be congratulated for such an amazing series from a debut author. Sinful Rhythms is a definite five star read with the series being easily a ten star. If you haven't read the Black Lilith series yet, one click now and grab your backstage pass for the best rock concert of your life.
Wow!!! This book was hands down the best of the entire series. After reading Make Me (book #3) I had in my mind what I thought Dash's book would be like. From the very beginning I was totally wrong, in the most best way possible. This book had me fall in love with Dash and the rest of the band Black Lilith, along with the girls, all over again. The connection I felt to each character while reading was beyond words. I felt like I was sitting in the background watching as Dash's story unfolds. I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated at times and I laughed some more. Dash is the clown of the group but also has the biggest heart and is so full of emotion but doesn't really show it until Tessa comes into his life and claims his heart. What starts off as a wrong number dirty text ends up to be an unbreakable friendship that will be put through the test to maybe be more between Dash and Tessa. There is no way you can't fall in love with each page turn. Once I started reading there was no stopping. The author had me wanting more and more and she delivered with each new chapter. If you want a book to read that is a story of great friends to lovers with hot sex then Sinful Rythms is a must read for you ... It has everything you need for a great story. I am so sad the curtain is closed for this series. I fell in love a little more with each book I read and loved each band member. The writing had me feeling like I had become a part of the crazy banter that happens offstage and at times on stage as well with this group of best friends. I would love to see an after series of how life goes on after the curtain call..you can't hate me for wanting more of DASH..read this book and you will feel the same.
Wow! Dash was always a bit of a mystery throughout the series with being on his phone all the time but we never knew who he was interacting with. Sinful Rhythms we finally get to learn that what started out as an error on Dash's part had been the best thing ever because he met Tessa. To share the time they have without seeing each other's faces or knowing more then code names might have been the best thing ever. I love all of the Black Lilith men in their own ways and I can't choose one more then the other but Dash is something else for sure. The band as a whole, the family connection is absolutely hilarious. I was in tears from laughing so much at times it just makes you feel as though you're witnessing it right there in person. At times I'm so frustrated with Dash but give so much credit to Tessa for being as strong as she is. The group as a whole is just so welcoming and I love that. They're cautious to new comers but once they embrace you that's it, you're part of their family. Who wouldn't want to be in a unity like that?. This was a great series and although this book can be read as a standalone I personally read them in order and happy I did because they stories all flowed together and make it all come full circle for the entire band. There is so much more I could and want to say but don't want to give anything away because you need to read it for yourself. Absolutely great read and I highly recommend you one click this entire series, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
The only ending more perfect than this for the Black Lilith series would be to not end it at all! Dash is hot as hell and entertaining to say the least. Between the pop culture tshirts and those ridiculous cakes you can help but love him, but he's always had a bit of a secretive side. An accidental dirty text to the wrong number and Dash has a new best friend in Tessa. She is absolutley perfect for Dash, but question is does he relise it. Time and time again these boys and even the girls had me in fits of laughter. I really don't want to give this amazing group of people, the Black Lilith family up! I'd like to say that Dash's story was my favorite but I loved them all and you can't make me choose, I wont do it! Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Hazel I think you should give us more of this incredible family. Please ;)
From the start of the series...my favourite was Logan, then it change to Slate but in the back of my mind I always had a soft spot for Dash, now after reading Sinful Rhythms..my fav hands down is Dash..he is a hot adorable dork, and I'm glad he met his one and only in Tessa, but true to the Black Lilith boys form it never goes smooth sailing, no big grand gestures like the rest of the boys, just an intentional butt dial and one kiss on the cheek, and baby boy Dash shows who's boss, it was sad to see the end of the series, because what a ride the boys and their girls have had, thanks you Hazel for giving us the opportunity to meet the Black Lilith boys..I give this last in series 5 deliciously hot stars *****
I can't belive this will be the last book in the series. I've loved every minute of it. In this one you get to learn about Dash...you can't help but love him from the start. He may be a dork at times but he can be sexy as hell other times. I'm so glad he met someone as lovely as Tessa. It may have been by accident but it was definitely fate. At times though you just wanted to jump into the book and tell Dash to get his act together....but all tuned out in the end. The book was full of hotness, laughter and lots of love. You really felt like you were in the story with them with how well it was written. It's so sad that you won't be reading about the sexy lads of Black Lilith anymore. If I could give it more stars I would!! But for now it will have to be 5 hot stars *****
wow dash's story did not disappoint, i absolutely loved dash and Tessa story, seeing all the other black lilith boys and there girls again is a great bonus, Tessa has an amazing family in the book. I read this book in 2 sittings and didn't want it to end. well done hazel jacobs yet again. Definitely recommend everyone giving this series a read. I voluntarily read a copy of this book.
And Hazel Jacobs has don it again! I love, love this book! A perfect ending to the Black Lilith series!
Tessa Hunt (love the name) get`s her once in a life time chanse! I fell in love with Dash and his dorkiness. The chemestry between Tessa and Dash is scorching hot!
Hot guitarist with a heart of gold?!?! Oh yeah! Jacobs has written such a sweet story with Sinful Rhythms. This book follows Tessa, a college graduate who has family is her top priority. And Dash the sweet and silly guitarist from Black Lilith. Their friendship started of as accidental but developed into one of importance for the both of them. So when Tessa has the opportunity to spend more time with Dash, it has her wondering if there can be something more between them.
I think what I liked best about this story is the fact that Tessa knew what she wanted and didn't give in to Dash's charm. I like it when the heroine isn't easily dazzled by the hero. Their blooming romance was important to her, but so was the fact that she wanted more than just a NSA fling. The entire Lilith crew welcomed Tessa with open arm and I really felt that sense of family while reading. Dash as sweet as they come as far as heroes go. He's kinda hesitant when it comes to committed relationships but he never lost his charm in the story. His geeky sweetness won me over.
This was a fun, easy read, anyone with a soft spot for rockstar romances will love these two. I'm really hoping to hear more about the entire Black Lilith family.
