* RANT ALERT*

You know what this is down to a 1 star because I want to shoot myself every time I think about this book.

I initially gave this book 3 stars because the concept behind this series was amazing. Earthbound (book 1) was absolutely AMAZING! I was so so excited for this series and I could see it going places. HOWEVER, this book was self published as I assume the publishers dropped it? Well let me tell you it was full of mistakes. Bad font. So many errors. Just thinking about this book makes me mad.

Now, this series was going places but it crashed at this book. Let me just tell you that I LOVE LOGAN. I sold my heart to Logan and every single time Tavia chose Benson I wanted to scream. Benson was a weak pathetic character. Tavia herself pissed me off by the end. She was so selfish and bitchy. Logan is literally destined to love you. He cannot fathom not loving you. It is part of his make up but what does Tavia do?! Snuggle with Benson IN FRONT OF LOGAN. Ughhhh I'm so mad thinking about it.

The ending shattered my soul and I'm still salty about it. Excuse me Tavia, fuck you. (Sorry for my language I'm just REALLY NOT HAPPY STILL).

This series makes me pissed to think about. I wish I never bothered reading it. YOU WEREN'T WORTH THE COST OF AMAZON INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING!

By chapter 18 I was extremely annoyed with Tavia. She's selfish as hell (unsympathetic to Thomas and Alanna needing to be with each other) and harsh when bringing new ppl on board. Summoning chains and ropes, binding and gagging ppl before receiving their cooperation. Freakin psycho! And so busy trying to fight what's in her nature, what's natural to her. She belongs with Logan! Idgaf about Benson and forgiveness, she's dumb as hell for picking him over Logan. I only wish Logan was able to resist his connection with her because he doesn't deserve the pain he's suffering from having to watch his soulmate be with another man, a human at that! And Benson can't get too mad, how is Logan supposed to feel and react? So yeah, I was rolling my eyes as I angrily flipped thru pages smh

I finished it and the ending made up for the frustration I felt before. I despise Tavia for choosing Benson and even offering to make him immortal. And I was sad to read that to escape her rejection Logan felt the need to kill himself. On the bright side Benson will die eventually so they'll have each other in the next life and so on and so forth. I did enjoy reading how Tavia was able to reconstruct herself. That part was very well written and described. As well as the part when she freed Alanna. Was glad to see Mariana and Daniel get theirs, though it was a little heartbreaking. Seeing as they're Earthbounds though they'll also be back in other lifetimes anyway. So I'm happy to say I feel better about this conclusion now that I've made it to the end.

As the final book of the Earthbound Trilogy, Earthrise is an awesome, romantic finish. I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to this series. Now I’m just sad it’s over. I love Aprilynne Pike’s books, though I’ve only read this series and the Wings series. She write really interesting, compelling characters. She does a great job of creating a world or society within the real world.

To recap, In Earthbound, Tavia suddenly has the ability to create things out of nothing, but they only last temporarily. She is living with an aunt and uncle after her parents died in a plane crash. Tavia was injured in the plane crash too and had to under go brain surgery. Some people are out to kill her and a guy named Benson, who works at the local library, helps her. She’s seeing this blond guy, which turns out to be Quinn, her lover in a past life. At the end of the book she meets Quinn’s current incarnation, Logan. She also finds out she’s a goddess, an earthmaker. In Earthquake Tavia tries to convince Logan of what he is, and then his house explodes and they are both captured by the Rediciates and taken to their facility. Logan later receives his memories when they are taken to the Curatoria facility in the Death Valley area. Their powers resurge, but Tavia still only has memories from her past lives as Rebecca and as Sonya. The Rediciata creates a virus that can not only kill people, but Earthbounds too, permanently.

At the beginning of Earthrise, Tavia’s mission to create and distribute vaccines to the world and involves help from a doctor and her friends. She travels to different country, trying to avoid the Reduciata Earthbounds Daniel and Mariana. Tavia exhausts herself and has to create high-caloric foods just to keep her energized enough to create vaccines. Some Earthbounds are dying and catastrophes are occurring. The Rediciata gets of the their tale and tries to discredit the vaccine. Bad stuff happens, but the ending wrap ups nicely.

Also, Tavia is back with Benson. I love Benson. Logan is okay, but Benson is just a regular guy who’s father is an Earthbound and they got caught up in everything. Benson really cares for Tavia. He’s smart, funny and sweet. Logan seems a bit arrogant in believing that Tavia has to love him. They’ve had so many lives together, many of which Tavia’s unable to remember. I think she and Benson deserve a chance to be together for their life.

I recommend this series to fans of: Fallen by Lauren Kate, The Immortal series by Alyson Noel, Halo by Alexandra Adornetto, Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini, any books with mythology, gods and goddesses, angels, demon, magic or abilities. Paranormal Romance in general. Try this book. Also if you liked any Aprilynne Pike books, such as Wings, Spells, Illusions, Destined, Life After Theft or Sleep No More, read Earthbound.

Cover Art Review: Saundra Mitchell designed this cover? The author of the Vespertine? Really? Why wouldn’t Penguin publish this final book?

In this installment, Tavia spends most of her time creating vaccines for this Earthbound virus. It's very exhausting for her. Our two villains from the last book begin undermining these efforts, so a final showdown is inevitable. It's a pretty simple plot, really. The story is about the right length -- just when it starts to drag, things start to wrap up. The showdown at the end is pretty good. If you think about it, there are only a couple of ways the love triangle can be resolved, which means you can guess how it goes.

I listened to the first two books on CD, but this one was not available in audiobook form. The editing here is terrible. Were the other two books this bad, and I was blissfully unaware? Or did the author try saving a few pennies by not hiring an editor this time? This is one of the worst edited books I've ever encountered. In fact, I don't think it was edited at all.

There were spelling and grammar errors, typographical errors, and punctuation was completely random. It was like someone sprinkled a bunch of random punctuation marks on the page like confetti. There were missing quote marks, sentences that didn't start with an uppercase letter, and a total lack of knowledge of hyphens and commas. I mean, WOW. Here are excerpts from some typical sentences:

your took your purse too close
they'll need as much vaccine as they I can give them
I didn't get very many hours to sleep in here in London
I was never any place like this
I focus instead of whatever subjects were deemed important

This book. I really read it in three days spaced over two months. I devoured the first two, loving them entirely. Then, when I got to this one, the third one, I had to get it as an ebook. I'm not a huge fan of ebooks, so I didn't want to read it. These past couple of days, I devoured it.

AND I REGRET IT!!

I'm crying still, writing this. That ending broke my heart.
And! I still have many questions, Aprilynne Pike!
What happened? What happened with Tave and Benson? What happened in she next life? How long did she have to wait to be reunited with Logan? Why didn't you write an epilogue explaining this?!

I'm dying. I blame you.

This book was great. This trilogy was great.

(Still don't like Benson. Logan is 100x better)

This was my first time reading the concluding novel in this trilogy. This was possibly my favourite of the three. It was high stakes throughout and I think the way the plot unfolded was very clever. Logan and Benson fighting was a good subplot, but I must say I cried at the end. I read the last three pages and then had to reread them to check I was right about what had just happened. I was - I just become very emotionally attached to fictional characters! I think there needs to be more books centred around this idea - I don't mind what characters or what lives they follow as long as I can read more books. I love this series!

Extremely slow paced. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen, but it just kept going on about the same repetitive thing for over 200 pages. I kept reading just to find out how the series would end, but I was so bored through most of the book.

Bewertung Band 3: 1,5 Sterne

I całe szczęście ostatnia część. Nuda straszna. No doprawdy fascynujące i strasznie naiwne.
No nic.

*SPOILER ALERT* The only thing I liked about this series was the ending. The ending was amazing because she chose Benson for this lifetime(because she cannot remember her true love to Logan). And, when she asked Benson if he wanted to become immortal so they could live in all their lifetimes together, he said no. I love how although she chose Benson in this life, she will be with Logan in the next. And then Logan killed himself. I really enjoyed the ending, but everything else was meh.

I’m glad all of that came to an end, a destructive one, but an end all the same. I really did not like that ending, I think Tavia was really stupid but not remembering her past love changed who she could love. But the last chapter and the last few pages hurt. She did that and now she can be free?! Ugh

You know what? I considered giving it less stars because I was dissappointed with the ending, but it still made me cry and feel too much so it deserves 5 stars.

Nevertheless, spoiler alert, I am still cheering for Logan/Quinn.

In some ways, better than the other two books. 3.5 stars, if it were an option. The writing is fine, but the choice of focus is... Odd? I can respect the book is most concerned with the protagonist, but the story was a bit lacking in connection with the greater events going on.

A decent enough ending to the series. It sounds like a cop out but I can’t really go into too much details without spoilers except to say for me it was a satisfying enough way to finish the story.

I am sure there will be other reviews that will either like or love it due to the nature of the ending but I can’t say I was bothered either way!

YES YES YES YES YES. This was the perfect way to end this book and I am SO happy with it. The virus was a brilliant and powerful idea for the bad guys to take. This book had so many plot twists and I found myself laughing one second and distressed and sad the next. Of course there is always a bittersweet ending when a series involves a love triangle, but this one is bearable because you know what will happen next. I am okay with who she chose because really she chose them both, you'll get my meaning when you read it. The final battle was really something to read. I was scared it wouldn't be climax worthy after such a great build up of fighting the virus and becoming more powerful. But. It. Was. Fantastic.

I love this series and I love Aprilynne Pike <3
