Completely seduced! I just enjoyed the heck out of this book. This is a super sexy, angsty and intense story about Lauren and Antonio, two rival CEOs that have a nameless one-night stand that will change the course of their business and their hearts. Loved the complexity of the relationship between these two. The conflict between desires, social pressures, obligations, and right & wrong all come into play. I felt they were fully fleshed out characters with motivations, wants, needs, and personality. And the chemistry between Lauren and Antonio is mind shattering. Usually I try to be fairly eloquent in my reviews, but I think I can sum up this review in a few words: absolutely one-click worthy! Can’t wait to read Merger, book two in the Takeover Duet.

I tried. I honestly did, but the heroine's sheer stupidity and the hero's creepy persistence in pursuing the heroine are what ultimately made me lose all my patience and just give up. It was either that or throwing my reader against the wall.
Let's start with Lauren. She's this super big deal at her company. She's, like, really smart (and a very stable genius hehe), she's got science and business majors, she's the CEO of this AMAZING company and she sorta co-developed an AMAZING machine. Girl got them brains.
So the smartest heroine ever hooks up with this hot Italian dude. In a twist of fate that you could never have seen coming, turns out the hot Italian dude is her archnemesis, the owner of the rival company who's trying to buy out her AMAZING company because of the AMAZING machine. Understandably, when she finds out who he is, she's upset. The stakes are super high. So getting caught in any remotely compromising position with Antonio, the hero and archnemesis, can look really bad. But time and time again, she's apparently unable to stop his advances and just lets him kiss her, nuzzle and do all sorts of intimate activities IN PUBLIC. WHERE EVERYBODY CAN SEE THEM. Because he's just so hot. That's them brains for you.
Antonio is a whole different problem. The moment Lauren finds out who he is, she tells him in no uncertain terms that what happened between them must never be repeated. But noooooo, our boy here doesn't accept no for an answer. And that's a direct quote. It was then when the red flags started popping up in my mind, but I was feeling generous and I thought it's just the beginning, I need to read more. But he just turned worse. He was so persistent, that it really wasn't even interesting to read anymore, just very unsettling. We've all probably been there when certain people just don't get that their company is unwanted and take all your refusal to communicate as a sure sign to keep pestering you.
What's really curious tho, is how the author tried to put Trent, Lauren's colleague and ex, up against Antonio. Trent is also portrayed as this very persistent guy, who can take no for an answer, whose harassing behavior is supposed to make us hate him. But make no mistake, there's no difference between Trent and Antonio. Both of them are painted as very handsome and very smart, and they have no regard for any sort of boundaries imposed by the heroine.
And I'm supposed to swoon over that? No thanks.
The fact that this book has such a high rating baffles me. The fact that I'd have to read one more book to complete this story baffles me even more. I'll spare myself and my reader and call it quits. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, but it seems I'm in the minority here.

Wow! This book had me captivated from the start! This author out did herself this time! Absolutely rocked it!
Acquisition is book one in this enemies to lover’s duet. Aerospace industries competitors #1 Cozzo Industries CEO Antonio Forte vs #2 Interstellar CEO Lauren Bradley. Both are smart, sexy and competitive. A chance encounter turns into a sexy thriller that has a terrific plot, twists and turns that have you on the edge of your seat, and sexual tension that is off the charts! There is mystery and suspense, secrets and treachery!
I don’t want to give away any more because I want the reader to go in and enjoy this exciting new duet. Yes, it ends in a cliffhanger, but the second book will be out in November, so the wait will be short. I can’t wait!

5 star Review Acquisition (Takeover Duet #1) by Chelle Bliss
Be prepared this ends in a monumental cliff hanger......but, Chelle Bliss has already announced that the conclusion will release in late November. This is one of my favourite reads of 2017 and one I highly recommend.
What happens when a one night stand, you never expect to meet again, turns out to be the CEO of a company determined to takeover the company you have given your all for?
This is the predicament Intersteller Corp CEO Lauren Bradley finds herself in when uber Alpha Antonio Forte turns out to be the CEO of the rival company, Cozza Industries trying to force through a hostile takeover.
Both are shocked to learn the others true identity but Lauren is determined to keep her company, particularly as a major breakthrough has just been achieved.
On the other hand, Antonio sees no reason why they cannot separate business and pleasure. He is used to getting what he wants and he wants not only the company but Lauren too.
What transpires is a story so well written that I was on the edge of my seat, totally riveted from start to finish.
Antonio and Lauren are both strong, decisive leaders and a perfect partner for each other.
All is not as it seems though as there is a mole at Intersteller Corp who is determined to bring both Lauren and the company down.
The secondary characters, such as Lauren's best friend Tara were entertaining.
Acquisition has it all; great chemistry, sizzling attraction, suspense, drama and intrigue.
I have read several books by Chelle Bliss and I have to say that this may well be her best book to date. If I could have given 10 stars I would.
I cannot wait to see where Ms. Bliss takes us when Merger releases in November.

Review: Acquisition by Chelle Bliss Acquisition by Chelle Bliss is book One in the "Takeover Duet" series. This is the story of Lauren Bradley and Antonio Forte. This book does end with a cliffhanger to set you up for their continuing story in the next book called "Merger ". Lauren is a CEO of a large company that is having some issue and after a hard day she goes to a bar for a few drinks. This lands her to have a one night stand with Antonio. Antonio is CEO of his own rival company who wants to buy out Lauren's company. Although they don't really know each others Identity at the of their one night stand Lauren soon learns it. Now it seems Antonio wants book the company and Lauren. Both Lauren and Antonio are strong characters and I am really enjoying their story! I am a big fan of Chelle Bliss. Each book I read of hers I love even more. I inhale her books and this is no different as I read it in one fabulous day. I couldn’t get it out of my head until I’d finished it.
This was a really great enemies to lovers read. The storyline and the pace was faultless. Lauren and Antonio are two CEOs of rival companies. I love these two. I thought in their own way they each had so much going for them. Very likeable. The chemistry between them is off the charts and the sexy scenes are wow.
After that ending I’m so looking forward to reading more. I’ve got faith in the author that we won’t be waiting too long.

An out of this world enemies to lovers story, I loved it, and need Merger NOW!!!
It’s been awhile since I’ve read a book in one sitting but that’s exactly what happened with Acquisition. Having had the book sitting on my e-reader for weeks, I am now kicking myself for not reading it sooner. I love stories which swing from enemies to lovers and whilst they are indirect enemies, as rival CEO’s, Antonio and Lauren’s story was breathtaking.
Bringing me into an unknown world of the aerospace industry was a refreshing change and something which fascinated me in its own right. As mentioned, the key protagonists are each CEOs of their rival firms which set the story up for an interesting set of problems as each falls for the other but with a takeover on the cards, life for Antonio and Lauren was never going to be easy.
From their initial meeting, where they each pretended to be someone else, I knew I was going to fall as hard for each of these characters as they did each other. Antonio was your usual powerful businessman but this time his character wasn’t overpowered by his ego. Lauren, equally as powerful in and out of the boardroom, knows that she will do anything to save her company from Antonio’s clutches and whilst not trusting him, she finds it hard to forget their one night together.
With bodies ruling minds though, both Antonio and Lauren struggle with their feelings for one another. Antonio is determined to win Lauren’s heart but with her father’s memories ruling her mind, she is not prepared to lie down in front of this man again.
Lauren’s work life gets as problematic as her love life when her ex, and head of research and development, starts to cause ripples for her and it soon becomes clear that he still holds a torch for her but will their working relationship win out and can Lauren keep him as a friend and a colleague before things turn nasty?
So, from boardroom to bedroom, with some sea, sand and sex thrown in as well, I was treated to a captivating story and one which will has left me crying out for the sequel, Merger, which fortunately releases very soon.

Holy Crap, was this ever a fun read! From the moment I met Lauren, I was just captivated by her story. I mean, it’s not everyday, you encounter a totally badass CEO! Lauren was smart, independent and sexy. She proves that she just isn’t beautiful, but also has brains too. Lauren is on top of the world…except where her love life is concerned. All that is about to change. Only, Lauren had no way of knowing that one night of passion would forever change her world.
Told from dual points of view, Acquisition follows the story of Lauren and Antonio. Their story is entertaining, smartly written and full of delicious sexual tension. The push and pull between these two is off the charts and will have you begging for more. This book was everything I wanted and then some.
Acquisition is fast-paced, exciting and will keep you on your toes. From intriguing characters, To hot hot tension. To burning up the sheets and entertaining banter. To twists that will shock you and leave you breathless,and the moments you knew were coming, but hoped you were wrong… I enjoyed every single minute of this story. My only complaint is that I don’t have book 2 in my hands right now!!! Acquisition took me on one thrilling ride and has me totally excited for more.

I loved Lauren Bradley, she is in a position that is normally dominated by men. She's CEO od Intersteller Corp. They are company that is trying to make space travel over and beyond what it is now....One night after a really ROUGH day Lauren goes to a bar to have a drink or 5
Antonio Forte is a force to be reckon with he happens to be the CEO of Cozza. Which happens to be Lauren's company's biggest competition.
What I truly loved about this book was the mystery in it. There's a scene in a bar that will make the reader smile and the first scene where I said "well I'll be damned" Lauren is a true spitfire that doesn't let the fact that she's a woman in a male dominated world get the best of her. In fact the man who is considered her 2nd has a ton of respect for her. great read

Wowza, this was one heck of an enemies-to-lovers story! I found myself rooting for Lauren and Antonio to get past their business rivalry to the good part. You know, the fun, sexy, snarky, lovely love that awaits them if they'd just open their hearts to all that they could be together.
I fully understood Lauren's hesitation. Her realistic take on how things might "look" to those outside of their relationship--women get the short end of the stick when it comes to office romance most of the time. Her realistic take on how things might "look" to those outside of their relationship--women get the short end of the stick when it comes to office romance most of the time. This was okay. The smut was good but the narrators were a bit annoying to my ears.
Acquisition was definitely a book that I listened to for a specific challenge. Of course, my buddy wanted to read the next book, but since I have no soul - I said no. After this book ended on a dreaded cliffhanger, I just didn't care.
The drama was eh.. but Trent was just extra. I always thought he was psychotic.. but he really showed it towards the end. I also have no idea how he even had a job at this point. Everyone already had the gut feeling that he was extra creepy. Plus the guy was a little handsy at times. You'd think he would've been reported to HR or something. Yet he never got fired.
Overall, Lauren was dumb af when it comes to guys/employees.

Lauren Bradley is a high powered CEO who is about to take her company to new heights. She has a hot and heavy one night stand with a hot arrogant alpha male Antonio Forte. Turns out Antonio wants to takeover her company. Trent Moore who is their head engineer has success with the project that will take Interstellar to the TOP of their field worldwide. When she goes to a meeting she is shocked to see her one night stand and his name is not Lou. This was a pretty good read. These two had some hot sexy scenes in it. Lauren is stressed out because someone is leaking Info and Cozza is trying to takeover. This was a good read that left off on a cliffhanger. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this book. It kept me on my toes most of the time and filled my heart with hope! It was riveting, thought provoking, and it gives a girl confidence. At least it did for me!
Lauren Bradley is a very accomplished young woman, but even with her success she has never lost sight of where she came from or where she’s headed. She is a well-rounded character with smarts, sex appeal, and grit. No doubt she’s facing an uphill battle in the next installment yet to come, but I have no reservation that she’ll meet this dilemma and others head on and with determination.
Antonio is all kinds of alpha with a badass persona. At first he rubbed me a little bit the wrong way, but slowly won my heart over. I believe his intentions are sincere and his heart is in the right place, but I’m not so sure he knows the correct path to lead him the right way. Time will tell!
The supporting character cast isn’t really all that big, but one that bares mentioning is Tara, Lauren’s friend. This girl cracked me right the hell up. She has a good head on her shoulders, but seems to be able to let loose and go with the flow. Everyone needs a friend like this to keep us from becoming too serious and stuffy. Another supporting character that I’ll mention is this Trent that works for Lauren. I’m not so sure about this dude just yet and I’m sure we’ll see more of him in the next book. I’m kind of hoping he ends up the recipient of a major ass beating.
Sorry peeps, but this is a cliffy. I know, I know, this is unusual for a Chelle Bliss book, but rest assured, there’s more to come. This one was funny, suspenseful, and sexy as fuck! The dialogue flows and the storyline compelling. Acquisition was effortless to read with many twists and turns that the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Great read!

You guys, this book. THIS BOOK!! Where do I start? Seriously?
Let me say, first of all, that I really loved all of Chelle Bliss's Men of Inked books. The Gallos are near and freakin' dear to my heart. But holy eff, make way for the Fortes--and the books that I sincerely hope shall be written about them after this stunning introduction. Good freaking lord, that Antonio Forte...he's every inch a dark, gorgeous, incredible Italian lover--including that key element of setting his sights on our heroine, and simply deciding he's going to use every damn trick in his oh-so-freaking-sexy arsenal to win her over. Honest to eff, this man and his persistence...Good Holy GAWWWD...
And have I mentioned that he owns an island, too? An ISLAND! Let your imagination run with THAT, kids...
But believe it or not, the best part of this story is NOT Antonio--because we all know that any incredible hero is only as good as the heroine with which he is paired. Enter our beautiful Lauren, who is driven by emotion but not ruled by it; who is smart but not smart-alecky; who possesses juuust enough of an edge to give Antonio a damn fine run for his money. She's not even swayed by his freaking island. She simply wants his heart...but is afraid to take it, even when he offers it. Her conflict is real, and rooted in real concerns that ANY woman who's been in business (at ANY level) can definitely relate to in these crazy times.
The result is a gorgeous, sweeping, incredible, BEAUTIFUL romance that'll have you one-clicking for Book 2 as fast as you can!! And believe me, you'll be thanking me for the recommendation when you do!

I liked this, while I had some problems with it, which are listed below, I enjoyed it.
The heroine was strong, and the hero was sexy when he went by his real name Ah hem.
So if you're looking for a quick, sexy, entertaining enemies to lovers book, jump right it.
My three problems with Acquisition may seem petty, but they bothered me nonetheless.
First, let's start with his "fake one-night stand name" it was so close to Laurens nickname. I just couldn't get behind the name lol. It wasn't sexy.

Have you ever read a book and seriously wanted to yell at the author when you finished and ask them how they could leave you there... Well this is that book. Seriously I need the next book because I want more. This one ends in a cliffhanger, but it is so worth the read, even if we do have to wait a bit.
This one is a little different than what I'm used to reading by Chelle Bliss, but I think it is in a good way. Antonio is hot, powerful, rich, and used to getting what he wants and he wants Lauren's company, well okay, he wants Lauren too.

Acquisitions and takeovers are a common practice in today’s business world because of the nature of the times as well as the competitiveness that runs rampant in a world where only the strong survive. Fighting dirty and using alternative methods of persuasion will always be the norm because rising to the top is the ultimate goal and getting there will always be achieved by any means necessary.
Lauren Bradley is an independent woman but she’s in a man’s world - one that always puts her under the microscope, waiting to pounce on her for the smallest of mistakes and unfortunately for her, the one time she takes something for herself ends up coming back to bite her in the ass, both figuratively and literally.

Sexy, enemy-to-lover part one.
I love a one-night stand turned "oh damn" the next day.
Lauren is a high-powered CEO who dreams of the stars. Antonio an equally powerful CEO looking to buy Lauren's company. One she is not giving up, ever. Both of these characters are smart and thoughtful, but want very different things. And so begins this smart and complex story.
I enjoyed this book and I was excited to see where we were going to leave off. It was a journey. There is sabotage and a difference of opinions that do not get resolved in this book. Antonio has ideas that seem reasonable but are just not what Lauren has in mind. And the attraction keeps getting hotter and hotter, even though one of them is fighting tooth-and-nail against it. With a lot of unanswered questions, but a fresh and smart story, book two can't come fast enough.

I absolutely loved this book!! Ms. Bliss has outdone herself. This is one of the best enemies to lovers book I've read this year.

OMG!!! What an amazing book! This is book 1 of 2. This book had me hooked from page 1 and I didn't put down until I was finished and holy cliffhanger. Can't wait to read the next book 'Merger'. I received an ARC for an honest review. Must read!!!!

Holy smokes!!!!!! Damn, Chelle! Lady you freakin rock! With the rough year you have had youd never know it by your words. This book! OMG! I am in love! The story is super different and not something read over and over by a different author. Its seriously amazing. Now I am left hanging. Wondering if my girl is going to come out on top. This has seriously turned into one of my favorite solo Bliss reads. Theres angst, tension, sadness, happiness.... all the ups and downs to hook you on a story and then some. I cant wait for Merger!!!!!!!

Hot Damn Chelle is at it again. Acquisition is off the hook! Antonio is swoon worthy and Lauren is bad a**. This book is filled with action, surprises, romance and twist n turns. You don't want to miss out on this book. I can't wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC for this book.

I am a die hard Chelle Bliss fan and have been so ever since meeting City and Suzy in Throttle Me and have grown to love her writing the more I have gotten to know her characters and fell deeply for all of them. I was beyond excited to begin on another fictional journey with a new hero and heroine that I knew would soon have the temperature boiling and my heart racing and Chelle Bliss did not prove me wrong! It wasn't long into Lauren and Antonio's story in Acquistion that tensions were running high in the boardroom and all I could think about was both of them shedding their business suits, pencil skirts, cuff links, and high heels and getting down and dirty with one another!
Lauren Bradley is epitome of a woman who fills those high heel shoes with style and a spine of steel! She is the CEO of Interstellar Corporation with her eyes on the sky and any technology to help rocket her career to the next level. What she doesn't plan on is sleeping with her biggest enemy, the CEO of Cozza International, or finding out that he isn't who she should be afraid of. I loved getting to know this chick who wears a super hero cape in the boardroom and masters a company like nobody's business!
Antonio Forte is one sexy Italian morsel that kept me salivating from the moment that he rocked Lauren's world and continued to impress me with all of his charm and sex appeal!
