“We stopped fighting long enough for him to fuck me against his desk, and then again on top of it. It was crazy, passionate, go-for-broke sex and when we were done, we re-entered a world with papers and desk supplies strewn all over the floor.”

“Just tell me what you need. Tell me what to say.”

“So is that why you’re single? You want a Mr. Darcy?”

"This guy’s green eyes were like kryptonite and the hotness was fucking with my brain."Winnie Masters has always lived life on the wild side. With a flair for living free, Winnie likes men. However, her best friend Ainsley convinces her that she needs to take a vow of celibacy to slow down and take stock of her life. When Mark Bishop crashes into her life, like a freight train, Winnie is swept off her feet. And despite her best efforts to stay away, sometimes the most forbidden fruit is the fruit you just can't wait to taste. And taste. And taste!
"So what if my new job’s biggest benefit was frequent sex with my boss? I could deal with that."Mark Bishop is an accomplished lawyer. With a stable upbringing, a solid group of friends and a very supportive family, he seems to have it all together. When Mark meets Winnie, he knows he has to have her. A quick one night together doesn't even begin to quench the desire that exists between them, and when his new assistant walks in the door (and it's WINNIE), he knows his life is about to get very complicated. As Winnie and Mark navigate the choppy waters of suspicious friends, stolen steamy moments at work, and questionable choices, they quickly fall head over heals in love with one another. But can Winnie and Mark find a way to make things right after making so many mistakes?

"Just tell me what you need. Tell me what to say. You are all I ever wanted. I need you in my life, so please, just tell me what I need to do to fit into yours."Told in dual POV, The Mistakes is a tender forbidden romance full of charged banter, smart dialogue, and plenty of steam! Both Winne and Mark are quite complex, and together they create something beautiful. The pacing of the story is steady and each moment of the journey is full of tenderness, slight angst, and passion. I admired Winnie's strength and quirky personality, and when Mark enters her life, she learns how to trust and truly love for the first time. Mark has always tried to follow the straight and narrow and yet, his life is hollow without love. Together, Winnie and Mark complete each other and although it takes them a while to figure things out when they find their way everything that was broken becomes something beautiful and brand new.

When I was little, I thought that being an adult meant unlimited ice cream sandwiches and getting to buy all the glitter pencils I wanted. I was wrong. After losing her job at the library Winnie Masters has to set her pride aside and take a job at the family law firm. Winnie works as an assistant to Mark Bishop whom she’d previously met at her best friend’s wedding. The attraction between Mark and Winnie is strong but she’s never been the boyfriend type and Mark isn’t keen on losing his job by breaking company policy to have a fling with her.
. . . chicks—well, they think they want Bingleys, but really they all fall for a Darcy.Mark takes his job seriously and he needs an assistant who is going to work just as hard as him. The pink-haired, sassy girl he met at Lam’s wedding doesn’t seem fit for the job. As he gets to know her he learns that she’s dedicated to putting forth good work with everything she does.
Stupid boys. Stupid, hot, sexy boys.Mark and Winnie’s relationship happens pretty quickly and progresses well until Winnie slams on the brakes. All of her misgivings about being in a relationship prevent her from fully committing to Mark. This was one part of the book I didn’t really care for, the time they spent apart. All of Winnie’s ‘good’ reasons for keeping Mark at arms length, quickly turned into non-reasons yet she continued to avoid him. My second issue with the book was, I guess, not a lack of sex, I just didn’t care for it’s placement. There were times when there was a fade to black and I wished the scene had stayed lit and a few times where they fell into bed and I was more looking forward to them just hanging out. All in all, it was a good book, not my favorite from the series (shoutout to Ainsley and Lam) but it was still a good story from Elizabeth Brown.
Rating:

Ryan Andrews was yum! And I love everything abou Lambo Christie! But Mark Bishop, oh my gad, he makes me want to marry him!
Okay, back up. So this book is a long time coming. It's the third installment in Off-Limits series (each a stand alone) by Elizabeth Brown, and I'm telling you, this is a must read!
Winnie Masters is just hilarious! She doesn't do relationships, only one night stands and a friend and sister I'd like to have. And because of a scare she had concerning with her vajajay, she entered into an agreement with her friend Ainsley to a two-month celibacy.
Mark Bishop is just so dreamy. Okay, maybe at first he isn't really my first choice per se but I love how his character is. He's a lawyer, and he's good with tools. *wiggles eyebrows*
“That's alright. I could handle dicks. Big ones. Small ones.”
"You are all I ever wanted. I need you in my life, so please, just tell me what I need to do to fit into yours."
