Perfect. Flawless. Undeniable.
Falling in love with a man half my age changed my life.
Chase makes everything easier, brighter, better.
Together, we can conquer anything.

Until Daniel comes back.
I would die for him,
Will love him until my final breath.
After all, he is my son, my one and only,
Even if I want to wring his neck.

At first it seems seamless.
But nothing is easy when you love two men.
Two incredible men.

Where I see perfection, Daniel only sees complications,
Of loving Chase.
He doesn’t understand – can’t understand.

It drives a wedge between us and into my heart.
How can I create harmony among two grown men,
When one of them acts like a child?

Just like with the first book, Legal, I was hooked. I love the idea of the older woman/younger man story just because I have always been attracted to younger men. I was so glad to hear that Jillian and Chase were getting another story, because I wanted to see exactly just where this story could go. Could they actually last past the novelty of such a relationship? Well, this book starts up showing that yes, they can. But now the little hitch in the whole HEA is that Jillian's son(stepson) is coming home from school. Why is that an issue? Well, he's basically the same age as Chase. At first it seems as if her son Daniel is okay with Chase. Even though her ex is still being a jerk about it. But soon Jillian sees there is a difference in Daniel, right about the time he brings a date to family get together and it is Cassie, the woman that tried to come between Chase and Jillian in the first book. Cassie seems to want to just be with Daniel. And Daniel seems to really like her. So Jillian tries to give her the benefit of the doubt, even though she and Perry, her best friend/brother's fiancee, still don't quite trust Cassie.

This review of Lyrical by Bree Dahlia is for The Sweet Spot Sisterhood Blog. Although Legal was supposed to be the complete story of Jillian and Chase, they kept speaking to Bree. They told her that their story wasn't quite over yet so, she wrote all their words and now we have Lyrical. I loved Legal and was ecstatic that we are getting more of Jillian and Chase. I loved the premise of this story, an older woman and a younger man. It isn't something you see very often. It is quite refreshing.

Legal left us with Jillian accepting the age gap in her and Chase's relationship. Lyrical starts us with Daniel, Jillian's son from her first marriage, coming home from Italy. Jillian is worried that Daniel may not accept Chase since they are similar in age. Will this cause a wedge in her relationships with Daniel and Chase. Lyrical also focuses on the upcoming nuptials of Jillian's brother Stephen and her BFF Perry. Daniel also reconnects with an old classmate, a classmate who just so happens to have had a thing for Chase. Yep you guessed it, the ever present Cassie. I'm not going to reveal any more. You will just have to read Lyrical to find out if Jillian and Chase's love can survive Daniel and Cassie's.

Hopefully Lyrical won't be the last we see of Jillian and Chase. Bree is set to write a book about Stephen and Perry and a Novella about Daniel. So I can't wait to see how they fit into these stories.

There's always a Physco!!!
FINALLY Jillian are Chase are an official couple. Jillian is over the moon happy about fibally being able to not only be in love with Chase but that she can be out in the open about it.
Bree did it again. Book 2 was AH-MAZING. I was worried about Daniel coming home and giving his mom a hard time. Plus I knew Cassie was going to be trouble for Daniel. But the way Bree wrote the story everyone had a great HEA!!!

Finally, finally, finally!

Ok, I know book one ended with an HEA but everything was paused with Daniel not yet being home. So of course I needed to know what happens next but boy was this better than I thought.

Heartfelt romance
Tough, awkward situation
Evil b!tch
Ex problems

I was so invested in the characters I got caught up in the feels. My puffy eyes prove that Chase and Daniel are both special. Sigh, not saying any more but know it's killing me not to!

5 fantastic stars for this amazing emotional hot as hell book!! This is my first time reading anything by Bree Dahlia and let me just say it will definitely not be my last!!
Jillian is in her late 30's and has it all figured out, or so she thought until the drop dead gorgeous Guitarist disrupts everything she thought was perfect. I've never felt such a connection between two characters like Chase and Jillian. They give you hope that love conquers all. I have to say Perry had to be one of my favorite characters. I connected with her in so many ways - her outgoing snarkiness gave this book the humor it needed to tie all these characters together in a perfect way. Bree Dahlia, I salute you, high five you, whatever I can do to let you know that you write the hottest..I mean panties wet sex scenes I've read in a long time (let me just say I was hunting my husband out ;). This book had me all over the place when I thought I knew what was going on. I had no idea! Every page kept me wanting more! If you like a romance with some drama, humor, and some great sex scenes, this book is for you! I can't wait to read more by this amazing author❤

When LYRICAL released, I was ecstatic, I mean, the first novel was so outstanding, and I couldn't wait to get back to the group that is in the Legal Series. LYRICAL focuses on Jillian, and Chase - again!!!! - and it picks up right where Bree Dahlia left off in LEGAL.

This novel was outstanding. There were so many obstacles for Jillian and Chase to overcome this time around. From the obvious age difference that seemed to linger between the two of them - as well as for certain others - a crazy co-worker, and the return of Jillian's stepson, Daniel, I mean what could go wrong?!

Everything.

Some backstabbing happens, some ranting, raving, and some complete off the wall drama caused by Cassie, it was intense, and it was completely unexpected how things happened. As always, the couples in this novel were sweet, and completely into one another. I love Bree Dahlia's writing because it flows so well, and there is no guess work when it comes to the story line, or the characters.

A great novel, great characters, and great writing. A brilliant five stars to Bree Dahlia! I cannot wait for the third novel to come out featuring Perry!

Bree has truly made me a fan! This is the next book from Legal. It shows you true love, a dash of crazy, and trust. The main characters, Julia and Chase will capture your attention with their hotness overload!

Julia has come to terms with being in a relationship with a younger man. She is still being cautious because of it and with her son returning, she has the nerves kicking back in. Julia is also helping Perry and her brother plan their wedding.

Chase has found the love of his life. He wants to make sure she knows how committed to this he is. He is back at teaching full time and still makes all his extra time for Julia.

Julia is anxious to see her son, Daniel, but also about how he will react when actually meeting Chase. She is worried everything will change and will have to let Chase go. After the initial meeting, things seem to be fine. Chase keeps hinting at wanting more with Julia. Julia is overwhelmed with her son being back, helping plan a wedding, and barely having any time for Chase. Their relationship is tested so many times, between the bachelor and bachelorette parties and Cassie (Daniel's girlfriend and co-worker of Chase).

Will Julia and Chase overcome the obstacles that they face? Does Chase tame his "wild horse"?

Just when I thought the first book was hot, Bree goes and writes this one! This book was INCREDIBLE! I loved the entire build up to the end! Such a great read! Way to go Bree!

Fantastic

These two first books ment a lot to me as I married a much younger man..I lost him but all the heartache and pain we went through was so worth the love we shared for such a short time it was great to see a love like told in a story. Thank you for both of these book. I'm a new fan of yours. Give stars from me

description

I am so excited to bring back Jillian and Chase! Although they found their HEA with Legal, there was still so much story to tell. This meant-to-be couple deserved more, and I’m very pleased with the way the sequel turned out.

Just like the first book, Lyrical kept me smiling until the end. After all, how can it not be at least a little nerve-racking to introduce your son to the love of your life when there’s only a three-year age difference between them? Both men hold equal shares of her heart and she could never handle losing either. Then toss in a girlfriend from hell, an ex-husband who can’t resist throwing out cougar barbs at every turn, and a best friend who needs a wedding planned ASAP, and there were no shortage of amusing scenarios to write.

I loved diving back into Jillian and Chase’s world, and I hope you enjoy the story!

Awesome read!

Hilariously funny and I loved the heat of this couple. Once I read legal I had to grab lyrical. This was an awesome read. I went ahead and grabbed Perry’s story. It sounds like fun.

At the end of Ms. Dahlia's Legal, things seemed perfect for Chase and Jill as she came to accept their age difference with everything prettily wrapped up with a bow. There was a true sense of HEA when I turned the final page, which is why I was surprised to see this sequel. This sequel reunites us with the May-December couple as they struggle to stay committed to each other despite outside forces trying to pull them apart. These forces are courtesy of Jill's son Daniel, her ex-husband Mike, along with Chase's vindictive co-worker Cassie who all took this romance into melodramatic territory.

At the start of the story Jill seems fully committed to Chase, happy and satiated in their relationship. With Daniel soon coming home though she starts stressing out and reviving fears that don't truly exist. Daniel at first seems fine with Chase, but Jill keeps waiting for a problem to arise instead of just being happy. Her interactions with Daniel further frustrated me by her coddling of him and by letting his feelings rule her time with Chase, instead of standing up for what's in her heart. When Daniel's relationship with Cassie further taints Jill's connection to Chase she again doesn't stand up for her love which takes her and Chase to the edge and left me deeply disappointed in her. She may seem okay with their age difference early on but there's evidence to the contrary as she again employs toxic chemicals to make her look younger with pain, twisted humor, and embarrassment the result. Though he's never given her reason to doubt him, she does have a moment of hesitation whenever he's in the company of younger women that ultimately ruined the warm fuzzies I had before starting this story.

Chase is fully committed to Jill at the start of this story, wanting to make things permanent between them. Though he'd love to have a child with her, he's more committed to having her more than anything else. His love and devotion to her is clear from the start which makes him the quintessential book boyfriend in my mind. In their erotic encounters he worships her body and takes away any doubts she may have regarding age and looks with a single scorching sentence. He allows himself to be set aside so she can devote time to her son and never pushes to be accepted by the young man, instead he lets his actions define who he is. He's a delicious hero with a heart of gold he wears on his sleeve, always reassuring her and believing her when a nefarious act casts her commitment in doubt. He's there for her when she needs care and support and is the highlight of this story who doesn't get a heroine worthy of him until the very end.

From start to finish this was an engaging story despite my frustrations. My favorite parts of the story involved the delicious Chase and Jill's friend and soon-to-be sister-in-law Perry, whose antics always put a smile on my face. Chase was a worthy hero who could do no wrong in my eyes and defended Jill and their love at every turn. Perry was a supportive friend who was a cheerleader for them every step of the way as well as pointing out the truth about Cassie early on. Balanced with these highs are the lows of Daniel, and his childish and manipulative behavior, along with Cassie's nefarious machinations. Daniel was judgmental and a bit sanctimonius, making Jill choose between her love for him and for Chase. Cassie's the most grating part of this story for me as her actions became truly twisted. From using Daniel to trying to blackmail Jill, her misdeeds became over-the-top and turned this tale into a soap opera. Just as quickly as she came on the scene, she ultimately exited which left me unsatisfied as she deserved a heartier comeuppance. On a whole, while I was left cheering by the end of the idyllic epilogue, the journey to get there had me undergoing a gamut of emotions. I was often frustrated, charmed a time or two, but ultimately I was won over by the unwavering love Chase felt for Jill and am immensely satisfied where they are by the final page...and hope it's a truly HEA for them this time around.

I didn't think anything could top the first book, Legal, till I read Lyrical! Jillian and Chase are going strong till Daniel, Jillian's stepson comes home. He is the one thing that could come between Chase and Jillian but surprisingly it's someone else...someone who suddenly is dating Daniel. Another great read. Love all the characters but Perry is my favorite, she makes me laugh outloud! One scene with Perry, Jillian and Jillian's neighbor, Michelle, had me laughing till I cried! Cheers to Bree for another successful book!!

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

WOW!!! What a book.. the sequel to Legal about Chase and Jillian. This story had me smiling all the way throughout and laughing; Jillian's best friend Perry, who ended up as her sister in law, was the comic relief. Chase was strong, sensitive and at times the alpha male. He was always there for Jillian even when she doubted what they had. When another teacher tries to sabotage Chase and Jillian's relationship things get really interesting testing their faith and trust in each other. It also threatened her relationship with her son. An excellent book.

Enjoyable, but a bit of an abrupt and rushed ending

Spoiler alert, plot mentioned

I really enjoyed reading more of Jillian and Chase's story, Chase is a very attractive male, sexy and adventurous but with rock solid morals.

I did have quite a few unanswered questions, especially about how they managed to get rid of the sociopath stalker. Another story there perhaps?

Enjoy the first of this so much I quickly bought this one. Started getting into it and stalled. The drama was so forced and the resolution was anticlimactic. It’s more of an afterthought really which, while I didn’t like the Cassie if she were enough to write all that drama about give me a clear ending with her. In the end I’m happy Chase and Jillian got their HEA. I won’t be readying more.

Well...

Well...’F*^% me and rob me blind’ (best quote from Perry) - One of the best duets I’ve ever read. The friendship between Jill’s & Perry is laugh out loud funny. And...The love story between Chase (sigh) and Jill’s is swoon worthy. These two books are a MUST READ.

The next book in Chase and Jillian's story. Her stepson Daniel is home and Jillian's stress and overthinking about her relationship with Chase isn't destructive this time. Outside forces do try to keep them apart but they get a HEA and Perry marries Stephen at the end.

I love this ongoing story of 20 something Chase and his 40 something lover, Jillian. Here we find ex-husband drama, want-a-be-lover drama and the college age son coming home from college over sea, who is only a few years younger than Chase. Also throw in planning the wedding of Jillian's brother to her best friend. There is more drama going on in this book than a soap opera at times but Ms. Dahlia makes everything run so smoothly together with her words and makes it believable. And I love books that take turns telling what is going on from the other persons point of few you learn so much more. This was a truly enjoyable read and although you don't need to read Legal first it would be best that you did to get an insight into how the whole wonderful relationship started. This is no May-December romance (Or whatever the saying is) here.

Jillian and Chase are now together but the obstacles for them to stay together remain. Some are new obstacles like Daniel and his thoughts on the relationship. And another obstacle is an old enemy that I will not spoil. I loved the chemistry between the characters which has grown more since book1 and the scenes have gotten hotter. There is a great surprise for a certain character or 2 by the end of the book. And for Chase to ask that question since the end of book 1, he finally gets the chance and its beautiful. I look forward to the next book in the series about another cute couple :)
