Finding Katrina – A beautiful young aspiring model is torn between love & fear, trust & doubt and a desire for happiness. Will she make the right choice?
This novel is a police procedural mystery of crime and suspense - an absolutely gripping thriller with a jaw dropping twist.
This is a mystery and suspense story that revolves around the kidnapping of a beautiful young girl named Katrina Radha. She is the daughter of a prominent international diplomat. The story takes place primarily in New York City, where Hassan Radha is conducting peace talks at the United Nations.
There is an ironic twist to the story in which the reader is fully aware of who the kidnappers are, but the detectives at the FBI are convinced that terrorists are responsible. The story coincides with New York Fashion Week, which draws fashion and photography icons from all over the world. This is truly an international story at several levels. Katrina Radha wants to immerse herself in the fashion world while her father takes his place on the international diplomatic stage.
The two main boroughs involved in the story are Manhattan and Brooklyn. Jimmy Nolan lives in Brooklyn and comes from the rougher side of town. Tango Cash is a criminal overlord who is based out of the notorious Marcy Housing Projects, which have been home to numerous criminal and gang-related incidents in recent years. There’s a dichotomy in play with this story between the international importance of New York City and the everyday criminal underworld that is always looking for opportunistic advantages. Katrina Radha gets caught up at the intersection of these two worlds. Can she be rescued?
This is a great story with enough Foreign Diplomat, politics, danger, NYPD, FBI, suspense, and dreams realized to satisfy everyone (and a little sex thrown in); all wrapped in a great fast read story by Mr Kipling. Katrina and Jimmy are given enough background to make them relatable to any reader. The NYPD and FBI characters are both familiar and new, easy to paint mental images of them all. The people and events seem to be unrelated, but are sewn together beautifully and make the story a believable fun read. Definitely recommend this great story!
I think what I enjoyed most about this book is the humanity of the characters, good and bad. They are not one dimensional or all black and white. You can understand their dreams, fears, and aspirations. While their methods are not always what will get them what they want, you understand the desperation that drives them. Anyone can tell a good story, but to make the people in it come alive during the course of that story takes talent and skill.
Very entertaining and interesting storyline about a kidnapping and an unlikely person who wants to rescue the victim. Good character description and fast paced adventure.
Good story!.New Author for me!.Good story and characters!! Well balanced. I'm sorry it wasn't a longer tale!!!Looking forward to reading more from this author!!!
Awful. Don't waste your time. It seems like the author didn't know what they were talking about or did any research. Only reason I finished it was to laugh at the predictable ending, but damn was it a fight to get through it all. Not worth it.
