Nana Valencia is a New York city police officer. Though she is young she is driven and knows exactly what she wants. That is until she comes across Ilya Volstolv. Ilya is nothing like any guy she's ever met and Nana is intrigued. Ilya Volstolv is one of the most feared men in the bratva, the right hand man of the young leader. Who would have thought the silent enforcer would be brought to his knees by a pint sized cop by the name of Nana Valencia. The two have both been lying to each other. Their lies and deceptions further pushing the couple apart. Can they both see past what is black, and white, and survive somewhere together in the grey area? Or will their two very different lifestyles keep them apart forever?
Ariel is a Massachusetts native battling this New England wheather. She has an unhealthy obsession for music and literature. She loves learning about other cultures and different languages which probably accounts for the fact that she has more music in Korean, Chinese, Italian and German then English.
Writing helps her achieve some much needed adventure since she is a dedicated homebody.
Well the series is over and Ariel Arnold did a mighty fine job summing up the shootings, deaths, and set-ups in "Using You 2." I really enjoyed how enforcer, Ilya and policewoman, Nana were able to keep their relationship even through all the lies and deceptions that was always there. This is a series that I will read again and again in the future.
This is the conclusion of the series that starts with the story of Alek and Yaz, continues with Nikolai & Amanda's story and now ends with the story of Nana and Ilya. I thought it wrapped up nicely, but I wish we got an engagement or something from Amanda and Nikolai out of it becuase I'm pretty sure it was mentioned she was pregnant in Using You but no further mention is made of that in the book. Either way, we only get two love scenes from Nana and Ilya because they spend most of their time apart and at odds in this book. There's an interesting backstory dealing with the mafia aspect of Ilya's life and how it affects Nana being a cop, but ultimately, they have a sweet story between them. I would have actually have liked for that to be explored more, but the book is short so, we get what we get. It was a decent read, just wish there was more heat in it.
Here is an example of how that could happen. Enjoyed the storyline and the love between the characters. Its amazing how from the hard core challenges of life can bring sweet fruit.
Definitely didn't like this as much as The other two couples stories. All the secrets and lying was ridiculous. Nana being a cop and trying to play Ilya wasn't a good look.
That's what Nana Valencia came to realize about Ilya Volstov, he was worth it. Through the secrets and lies through omission, they decided that they wanted and needed each other anyway. Working through the mystery and drama surrounding unsolved crimes, they actually saved each other's life. Nana proved Ilya's innocence and Ilya physically saved Nana from mortal danger.
This was an interesting "who done it" story that kept my attention with suspense and mystery.
I'm so glad that Nana and Ilya worked everything out and I always knew that O'Reilly was corrupt and for him to be that sick is crazy. I will definitely miss this group of family tgey truly stuck together and looked out when things got tough. Although Nana went about the relationship in the wrong way and spying it just goes to show that love overcomes it all. They was willing to put all on the line for their happiness.
I loved it, I just knew one of her bosses was a rotten Apple 😉. Great storytelling I was totally engrossed, lovely characters. Will definitely be looking for other books written by this author. I recommend
I will start by saying this book was absolutely amazing. I read the whole thing all the way through. This author is very talented. There was no fighting the chemistry between these two (Illya and Nana) and it was beautiful too see connection grow. I Loved seeing other characters as well. Overall this read was very suspenseful, heart wrenching, and romantic. Cant wait to see more.
I am glad Nana and Ilya was able to be together a nd be happy. It was nice seeing Yaz Grant Amanda and Nickoli . Looking forward to reading your next book.
