When a car bomb blows Gary Rizzo to pieces, very few people shed a tear. But, of the many the flamboyant real estate developer has ripped off, three stand out from the rest. First is Gary’s beautiful, almost-ex trophy wife, Janet, who stands to lose millions once the papers are signed. Next is German multi-millionaire, George Schuman, a man who very few people are stupid enough to rip off in the first place. Then there’s Dwight Stanton. As Gary’s silent business partner, he takes his friend’s deception the hardest. He has means, opportunity, and motive, but no evidence that the police can find. After the case drags on, it’s finally relegated to the cold case file… until an explosion of another kind blows the case back open. Now, five years after Rizzo’s death, Stanton is back in the hot seat, facing first-degree murder for a crime he swears he didn’t commit. Despite Brady Flynn’s personal demands, he takes on the case when he’s called. But when the trial takes on a strange and frightening twist, he finds himself in a web of danger that threatens to destroy them all.
Good legal thriller, not much courtroom drama until the end of the case. Brady Flynn character is good, loving husband and father. He cares for the people he works with, he's their when they need help and never forgets to thank them. Good series.
I chose this rating because although from the point when Brady Flynn enters this story. It was unending drama to the end. He was hired to defend to defend Dwight Stanton in the Russo car bomb that had happened five years before. The Case ended in an acquittal of State vs. Stanton. Further evidence caused George Schumann to be arrested and charged with Ricco's murder. I have enjoyed the Brady Flinn novels. It is time for DK MkIntosh to write some more novels.
I just finished reading all five books. These were very enjoyable and without a lot of profanity. Brady Flynn is a likeable person who has every day problems, as most people. I live in Port Orchard. When my wife and I were younger we lived close to Lynnwood. I attended Edmond Com College and worked in Seattle. I enjoy reading justice/who done it books. Are there other authors like you who write attorney books and not include a lot sex and profanity? Thank you........Harry S.
Two words: don't bother. Even free, through Kindle Unlimited, it's just poor story-telling and bad writing.
The potential for a great plot device--challenging late found evidence and it's ownership in the search for an "SODDI"--screams for its use, then just sits there and rots.
The author seems to feel that a dry recitation of court procedure and tactics will carry the story between scenes of home life. It won't, and it doesn't.
This entire series is very entertaining and keeps the reader engrossed. The legal perspective is very informative while his family life is so amusing. Characters are well developed and dialogue strong.
I read the first four of D.K. ScIentist's "Brady Flynn" novels some months back, and was so glad to find this one on my Kindle Unlimited suggestions. I'm not sure if this is my Favorite of the Five books ?, but, I'm sure confident in Highly Recommending this entire Series !
This group of easy to read novels is so captivating that I bought each one at a time. The series combines a fascinating insight into the world of Defense Counsel and the lives of Brady Flynn and his surprise family, all of whom are people that you would like to know. Since I read them as fast as I could , I should have just bought the boxed set and saved the trouble of ordering them separately. I hope to see a lot more of this series that has given me such an enjoyable experience.
