J.D. Hughes, you are the reason I did absolutely nothing today - I began reading MY BEAUTIFUL DISASTER at lunchtime and could not stop until I got to the end, which left me desperate for part two of this electrifying story. Be warned this story is sassy, sexy, and strong, with two main characters who are desperate to keep their pasts buried, but as their lives finally seem to be merging together in a beautiful way, their heartbreak will resurface at the worst possible time.

Sophia is the perfect female character as she is a survivor who can take care of herself while always protecting her heart and those she loves. So when she finds herself agreeing to her boss' half-assed scheme of a convenient marriage, she cannot help but wonder if she is going crazy. But the closer she gets to Daniel, the more she begins to open the shuttered door to her damaged heart. But can she really trust him or herself to walk away unhurt when it is over?

Daniel needs someone he can trust to fulfil the stipulations of his Uncle's will, and Sophia fits the bill perfectly. So what if he is attracted to her - nothing will ever come of it. But when his life and Sophia's is threatened, everything starts to spiral out of control, and when a secret from his past is made known, will he lose the only person that matters to him?

MY BEAUTIFUL DISASTER by J.D. Hughes is one of those books that gets under your skin and makes you want more. I laughed out loud, felt the scorching heat jump off the page, and felt unbelievable sadness, as Sophia and Daniel struggled to come to terms with what they really want and feel for each other. These characters are so well written and the chemistry between them is off the charts!!! MY BEAUTIFUL DISASTER by J.D. Hughes is more than just a sexy romance - it is a story of damaged hearts, friendship, love, and finding your place in this messed up world. Warning - this book does end with a cliffhanger but luckily for you MY BEAUTIFUL DISASTER Part Two is ready and waiting for you to download.

Two people from two different worlds, both with shattered childhood.

The prologue in the first book was rather sad, but hope was soon restored when young Sophia saw what was on her savior’s back.

Eleven years later, entered Daniel Dukes. The jaded man with a past. He knew the day Sophia walked into his office, his life would change.

Sophia was the only woman who put Daniel in his place. She, too, has a dark past and waited for the right man to capture her heart. When Daniel asked Sophia to play an important role in his life to fool his late Uncle Icarus’s lawyers, she declined a few times. But when Daniel’s proposal could change Sophia’s life and allowed her to fulfill her dream of opening 𝘎𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢'𝘴, she reluctantly agreed.

Three weeks was all Daniel needed. What could possibly transpire in three weeks? Is Sophia willing to share her tragic childhood with Daniel? Will Daniel open up to Sophia?

Neither anticipated the twists and turns of their pretend relationship. Neither realized that the one person they needed the most would be each other. Neither thought they would be in danger. Will they get their happily ever after?

Sophia & Daniel’s story was a page-turner. It was hard not to go through emotions reading 𝘔𝘺 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳. This book no doubt found a place in my favorite collections of love stories.

Highly recommended!

Occasionally, I step away from the very dark books I read for something lighter. I was fully expecting a sweet romance with this one.

Instead, I got punched in the gut. I was hooked from the beginning, and have spent the best part of the day ignoring everything around me while I devoured this book.

It may need a little proofread...and while there are times that this draws me out of the story, it didn't with this one. The story itself is interesting and intriguing, heartfelt, full of emotions, and super hot. Add in danger and mysteries and crackling chemistry and you've got yourself an awesome read.

I can't wait to start the next book - I need answers!

Book Title: My Beautiful Disaster
Book Author: J.D. Hughes
Source: Kindle Unlimited and I heard about it on Facebook
Rating: 5 stars
For 18+.

I really like the cover. The couple is hot and the dress is amazing. I really want that dress! ^_^ And, I'm super happy that Daniel is wearing a suit. I wouldn't have read it if Daniel had no shirt on or his jeans would be unzipped.

Here's a confession about me. I just adore books where for some reason where two people get forced to be together for some reason and end up falling in love. One of my favorite movies (and hubby hates it) is The Proposal - the humor of is just hilarious. So, after I'll finish part 2 of My Beautiful Disaster, I'll re-watch the movie (too bad for you hubby!).

This book ends on a cliffhanger. At least the one that I downloaded through K.U. so if you don't like cliffhangers, don't read it. You would want to read part 2.

So, this book is about two people - one is a billionaire and the other is a - girl who went through the foster system. Also, 50 shades of gray, was probably an influence and it was mentioned in the book. Daniel has everything, except for a wife and he needs one before he turns 30. Sophia is the perfect candidate. She tests him and he loves it...or what's under his pants does. Also, her family is a biker gang! Loved that part. I really can't wait to see Shane meeting Daniel in part 2.

This is a fun read for readers over 18. Lots of things going on and secrets left and right. Oh, there's a cute dog in it, too. ^_^

I was pulled into the story right from the beginning and I loved how you are introduced to the characters at work and you get to see their working relationship. Even though Daniel was her boss they had the kind of relationship where Sophia would stand up for herself and speak her mind. Then when Daniel has to marry and they enter into a 'relationship' this is when the fun begins and they spark off each other brilliantly.

Both Daniel and Sophia find it hard to trust so I loved the fireworks that went off when they were thrown together. They are complex characters that have their flaws and because of this they did feel more real and believable. Sophia had a horrendous time growing up and this makes her character all the more compelling.

The pace of the book is pretty perfect and I found myself near the end in no time at all, I really couldn't wait to see how everything would turn out. If you want to curl up and forget all about your surroundings this book is perfect. I became well and truly drawn into Sophia and Daniel's intense and seductive world.

With steamy, sizzling chemistry these characters make this story a very passionate and addictive read. I will definitely be making the time to read the conclusion to this story as it ended on a brilliant cliffhanger!

My Beautiful Disaster has a great mix of romance and drama that made this book so difficult to put down!

Thank you thank to J.D. Hughes and EDM Editorial & Publicity Services for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

There’s just something about two characters that are getting married and playing the happy couple for some stipulation or another that just instantly attracts me. So when the chance came up to read this book I jumped at it, and I’m glad I did.

First off I loved Sophia, she is a tough cookie and I liked that she didn’t fall all over Daniel. She is independent with dreams that she is working hard to achieve and she stays true to herself even when put in uncomfortable situations.

Daniel is, of course, the rich alpha male, used to getting what he wants and not taking no for an answer. As much as I love an alpha male it was nice to see him become a bit softer around Sophia, to see the other side to him.

Both Daniel and Sophia have troubled pasts, which gets revealed slowly throughout the book. I liked this because it’s not just all dumped on you, it only comes up when it’s relevant and it was a good way to get to know the characters and keep you wanting to know more.

The same can be said of the storyline, which is great, it’s got a good mix of tension, intrigue, and drama and all of this lends itself to great pace with enough suspense in the right places to keep the pages turning.

There was so much in this book, but it never felt out of place, like it was being thrown in as something else to happen. Everything had a purpose or a connection to something else.

My only little criticism is…near the end the story had been built up to this amazingly dramatic point and then there was a flashback that takes us to when Daniel and Sophia first meet. Whilst I appreciated getting to see what happened, it did make that previous excitement fall a little flat.

Despite that this was a brilliantly entertaining read, that you could devour in a day if you’re not careful., with characters that you can’t help but root for. I can’t wait to get my hands on part 2!!

Thanks to the author and Emma Mitchell for the review copy of this book.

This book is so many different things: it's a love story, it's intriguing, it's got humour, smoking hot sex scenes, and great characters.

I utterly immersed myself into its pages and felt everything! It's written with heart. I loved JD Hughes first book, but this one is not far off perfection.

It flows beautifully, and the characters come to life. I could see this as a movie in my mind. I can't wait to read part 2!

I will be recommending it to everyone.

It was a great read. It has great characters and the story line has some surprises and twist that keep you guessing. There's drama, laughs, action and heart break waiting for you in this story. I loved Shanes character and yes your going to need some tissues before you get to the end of the story in part 2 so have them handy. It was well worth the read. Rated very good

Good

I don't usually write a review for a book that doesn't have generic words. I just write 20 words to beable to to make the review. This book had it all and kept me guessing. I would sooo recommend it.

Great book

Second reading and it's still as enthralling. Novel idea of bad guys being good with the SOC side of the story alongside billionaires. Loved the originality. More like this and would love Gabriel's story

Not my usual cup of tea but I really, really enjoyed this book. Not the usual rich guy, naïve girl, run of the mill story. I will definitely read more my this author.

J D Hughes you are the reason I stayed awake until 3.30am on a school night. I began reading part one at bedtime and couldn't put it down until I'd finished. The problem was, when I did reach the end the cliffhanger left me desperate for more so I had to download the second part.

Daniel Dukes is a millionaire playboy who, following the death of his uncle, has three weeks to get married or lose his inheritance and together with it, his dreams.

Sophia is his PA. A feisty, sassy woman brought up by a gang of bikers after running away from her foster home.

She speaks her mind and has no time for Daniel's playboy ways, so who better to pretend to be his wife. Initially Sophia turns him down, but it appears that Daniel is determined. So he may be attracted to her a bit, but this is purely business. Isn't it?

She finally agrees to Daniel's crazy scheme and they set some ground rules. Only Sophia's not going to make it easy for him.

Now I'm sure you know where this is going.. and you'd be right. However despite having some very steamy sex scenes, it also has an excellent story that will keep you hooked until the end.

The playboy angle isn't something new this kind of book. However in this novel it's explained in a way that makes you understand why Daniel behaves the way he does.

My only criticism was this was the reference to Sophia's 'sex' which was reminiscent of the 50 Shades Trilogy, although not as prominent.

My Beautiful Disaster is the first book this year to keep me up at night. It gets under your skin and leaves you desperate for more. Throughout the book I experienced tears and laughter. I felt the heat from the chemistry between the Daniel and Sophia leap of the page.

I absolutely loved this book. It is more than it first seems. It's about family, friendship, love and much more. It was an easy read with excellent characters that I want to spend more time with. Luckily Part Two is ready and waiting for you to download, just like I did.
