Big Bad Rancher

This time I’m going to ride her like a rodeo horse.

I lost Harper once before. I’ve returned to rope her back in.
I was dirt poor when I left Wyoming.
She offered me a life on the ranch and I turned it down.
Instead, I made a fortune in the Big City.
Now I'm back, and she's trying to get me to step out of my suit and back into my old spurs.
I’ll take off my suit, but not because I’m here to be her ranch hand.
I’ve got much more to offer her than the sweat of my brow and the shotgun in my pants.
I want to give her the world.
The problem is, to her, the ranch is the world.
Winning back her heart might be a wilder rodeo ride than I had in mind.

Lucky for her I can buck like a stallion…

"Even if I had ghosted her a decade before, she should have been excited to see the man she once loved"

THIS WAS NOT FOR ME.

I wish I could have DNFd this- but my OCD doesn't allow that.

The hero was a pompous shallow asshole and the heroine was an apparently strong woman.

I couldn't connect to the story, or the writing style of the book. Everything was just out of place.

Just a no for me.

After a string of tragedies, Harper finds herself parent-less and back on the family ranch trying to save it from foreclosure. Their ranch used to be a hot spot in the area to visit and stay at, but it has been downsized and neglected to the point of being rundown. Harper has her hands full with sprucing up the place while still trying to pay the bills, but if there’s one thing Harper is not – it’s a quitter.

Lincoln and Harper were best friends as kids and became lovers as teens. They had their whole future mapped out in front of them, until Lincoln took off for greener pastures and left Harper behind without looking back. She’s never forgiven him for leaving, but in all the years that have gone by without seeing or speaking to him, her shattered heart has never recovered either.

When Lincoln reluctantly finds himself back home and sees that Harper is in need of some assistance, he thinks this is the perfect opportunity to show the town what he’s made of now. He’s a self-made billionaire. He’s super successful. He’s also a bit of an arrogant a$$hole. It was tough to love Lincoln at the start of the story and I found myself super frustrated with how selfish and clueless he often was.

Harper wasn’t impressed by the new Lincoln in the least. She didn’t want his money. She didn’t want his company. And she sure didn’t want her heart to get broken again. But when your first love comes back looking for a second chance, it’s hard for your brain to keep saying no, when your heart and body so badly want to say YES!

I loved the strength of Harper’s character and although Lincoln drove me nuts at points, deep down he was a caring guy who had lost himself somewhere on his path to fortune. Great characters, touching storyline and a sweet second chance at love.

Very steamy second chance romance. Standalone. No cliffhanger. HEA.

DISCLAIMER: I received an ARC of this book, this is my voluntary review.

I am so late getting this up. Sorry!

This was such a great read. Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes. And the characters in this book definitely have a rough time getting back to where they had left off so many years prior. The feeling are buried so far deep and it takes a lot to mend a broken heart. Twice. But it has an HEA that left me with happy tears.

This was well worth my time - an emotional and well-written read! March 18, 2017

I received an Advance Reader Copy for Big Bad Rancher and voluntarily reviewed this book. Now that Harper's father was gone, she was now all alone, with the bare bones of the once-prosperous Callahan Family Ranch. When a visit from her lawyer drove home the dire situation regarding the security of her family home, land, and legacy, she reconsidered and agreed to lease some of her land temporarily until she was back in the bank's good graces.

Lincoln Heatherton hated growing up poor. Coming from a huge family, and his mother working three jobs to put meals on the table, he knew that if he didn't leave, he would be held back. Not even Harper was enough to stay his leaving. Now, back in town to visit with his mother and outrageously successful, he wants to lease some of her land and start his business plans rolling, with the intention to help her financially. But will Harper and Lincoln be able to deal with their past and move on?

I found myself really drawn into the mind states Harper was in: the abandonment and betrayal when Lincoln had left everything behind, the grief after burying her father, as well as to how she was feeling when she first set eyes on Lincoln once again, so changed from the boy she had fallen in love with. I really disliked his ivory-tower attitude towards his town and its people as well, but understood, perhaps, how he could turn out that way when he was making it alone in NY for the last decade. I hated, my heart broke, I cheered for Harper (albeit halfheartedly, because she deserved to have been happy with Lincoln these last 10 years as well, if only he had stayed.

I received this book as a book for a voluntary and honest review. I received it as a ARC.

In this book we meet Harper Callahan and Lincoln Heatherton. When they were younger they became high school sweethearts. During that time Harper has been the rich girl and Lincoln was the boy from the other side of the tracks. However Harper saw something in Lincoln and made sure he knew he was worth something to someone. Little did she know that years later he would not only break her heart but that the roles would be reversed. Can she take help from a man she doesn't trust? Does she have a choice?

All Lincoln wanted to was to come home and show those people who had looked down on him. The problem with this is the people that looked at him like he was someone already can't stand the new him. The one that he wants the most is the one girl that held his heart. However it seems the more he tries to show her how much he has bettered himself the less she wants to do with him. Can he get back the girl of his heart or will he destroy the best thing he has ever had?

This book has many twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat from the first word to the very end. There is so many things I want to tell you about what happens in this book but I don't want to give away any of the secrets. I will say this is an amazing story it will have you on the edge to see what happens next. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Big Bad Rancher by Tia Siren is a Second Chance Romance

Harper inherited her family's 40 acre farm and a lot of debt after her father died. Harper's family lawyer Howard drops by to tell Harper that the bank will foreclose in 30 days unless payment is made, and comes up with an idea to get Harper out of this fix ... lease some of the land, barn space and offer lodging and hospitality to the leasee, for a price. Harper reluctantly agrees and puts up a "Space for Lease" sign. Lincoln is a self-made billionaire who returns home to Wyoming to visit his family after moving to New York 10 years ago to make his fortune. When Lincoln sees the "Space for Lease" sign outside the Callahan Family Ranch, he finds out that Harper inherited her parents' debt after they died. Harper is happy when Howard gives her the good news that someone offered 50% more for the lease, but when she finds out that it's Lincoln who put in the generous offer, she refuses before Howard talks some sense into her. Harper and Lincoln had dated for 3 years before he left town without a word. Lincoln moves into the Harper's house after the lease goes through, and is blown away by how beautiful Harper is and confused that she no longer looks at him with adoration in her eyes. Lincoln realises that the love they had shared was a once-in-a-lifetime type of thing, and wants Harper back. Is it too late?

Big Bad Rancher is an entertaining story that's fun, sweet and steamy. Tia Siren had me hooked from the beginning with an emotional storyline and interesting characters. I highly recommend this book.

Tia Siren has done it once again. This is a book about second chances with your first love. Money doesn't always buy happiness, it just buys you stuff. When Harper's parents die within month of each other, she is all alone. The part of her parents that was left behind was their ranch and they are so far in debt that the bank is threatening to foreclose. When Lincoln comes back home to visit his mom, he sees that Harper is having some financial issues. Harper and Lincoln dated for 3 years before he left 10 years ago. They were madly in love and made plans for the future till one day Lincoln decided that he needed to leave by himself to make something of his life. Growing up poor without anything, he wanted a different life and left to go to New York City. A decade later, he is now a billionaire. When Harper finds out who is helping her financially can she find it in her heart to let him help? Are there still feelings between these 2 and can they let the past go? Does money really change a person completely? Find out for yourself by getting this book, you will not be disappointed. It's a very good read. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

This is a stand-alone story not connected to any other story released by Tia Siren.

When writing about millionaires or billionaires, it is a fine line to make them cocky without making them so arrogant you want to rip their face off. It would have been so easy for Lincoln to have been just that kind of guy. He had left Harper behind once in what, to me, seemed to be the cruelest of ways. Instead, Tia Siren wrote him with compassion. There was never any doubt in this reader’s mind that he is a man in love and I was rooting for him to re-win his girl’s heart. Though I did want her to make him jump through hoops. She deserved that!

I have now read several of Tia Siren’s “Big Bad” books and each one has been well-crafted and surprising. There are no formulas here! I’m looking forward to reading many more.

This book is about Harper who has just lost her father after also recently losing her mother. She is struggling to make ends meet and after the funeral finds out from her lawyer how bad things really are. Enter Lincoln, her former high school sweetheart. Lincoln was back in town to visit his mother and finds out how bad things are for Harper and wants to help. To be honest, I really liked Harper. I thought she was a sweet, kind woman who also could give out great attitude when needed. Lincoln on the other hand. I really thought he was a selfish, stuck up jerk. If I had been Harper I don't care how bad off I was, I probably would have hit him with a pan! Now don't get me wrong, by the end of the book he turns himself around and becomes better. Which is why I gave it 4 stars. I love how he changes or realizes what he did and continued to do was wrong. I love how he realizes what is truly worth anything in this world and understands that just because you don't have it, that doesn't mean you are lazy or worthless. In the end, well worth the read and some people might actually love him!

One can't leave love behind

That is what Lincoln Heatherton found out when he returned to his sh*thole town to visit family after being gone for ten years. In an effort to help the girlfriend he abandoned and heart broken when he left, he finds out that neither one of them have moved on. Harper Calahan is beyond heart broken, she has not forgiven Lincoln for leaving her with not even a note or phone call. To make matters worse, he has become an arrogant, entitled azzhole that she does not like. She was in love with the old Lincoln and was determined not to give in to his efforts until the old Lincoln reappeared and both of them fell hard again.

Tia wrote a love story about two stubborn people. Lincoln had to understand with Harper's help, that his old persona was so much better than the new citified version. Once he understood that he left love for the big city and the big city was not enough and could not replace his love for Harper, it was only then that they could see themselves moving to a happily ever after.

After the death of her parents, Harper must go to drastic measures to save her family's ranch. After leaving home 10 years earlier, Lincoln returns home a completely different man, and not necessarily in the best way. When Lincoln offers Harper help with her farm she bucks back because of their shared past and his changes, but will she give in? Will Lincoln break her heart again? Will Lincoln admit he has changed for the worse?

LOVED this book! It is a great second chance romance and highly recommend it. Loved how Harper, while stubborn was willing to admit she needed help, but refused to change who she actually was just to make him happy. Was so happy to see he made the right choice in the end and proved he was a more grown up version of himself! Great book and cannot wait for more from this author!

***I voluntarily read this ARC to give an honest review***Harper Callahan now was an orphan. Her Mom had passed after a lengthy illness and her Dad has now passed from a broken heart. She had come home to Wyoming to help her parents after she graduated from college. They had been the wealthiest family in their small hometown. Owning a bed and breakfast on the large ranch, they had visitors from all over. Now because of medical bills, the farm was in disrepair and the animals had been sold off. She was now the heir to the ranch and its bills. As a youth, she had fallen for one the poorest young man in her school, Lincoln Heatherton. They became very close and they gave up the virginity to each other. When she woke the next morning, she found that he had left her and everyone else to go make his fortune. That is exactly what he did through hard work and diligence. He was now a billionaire. A decade later, he is returning to Wyoming to visit his Mom. He has been sending money to her so that she could make a better life for herself. He hadn't forgotten about Harper, but after so long he felt that she had surely moved on with her life and forgotten about him. How he comes to her rescue and helped her and she helped him find himself again is a pretty good read.

Harper has lost both of her parents in the last few months. After she buries her father, she meets with her familes man of business to find out her financial picture. Her mother's illness drained all their savings and the family ranch and bed and breakfast is no longer popular. She will lose her family's land if she doesn't do something drastic. She agrees to lease her land out to make money. She is happy when she learns there is a lot of interest to leasing her land and the top bid is more than they are even asking for. The problem is that the bidder is Lincoln, her high school boyfriend . She and Lincoln were very close in school and he was her first. The next day Lincoln left town with no explanation or goodbye.
Lincoln left home to make a better life for himself. His family was always poor and people looked down on him. He left his home town and Harper behind and became very successful in the city. Now he is back in town and is interested in helping out Harper. He feels guilty about how he left her. Everyone is saying how much Lincoln has changed but he feels he is the same. Getting along with Harper brings back lots of old feelings. Harper wants the old Lincoln back.
Will Lincoln be able to come back home or will he leave Harper again? This is a good story about second chances. I voluntarily read a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

Tia Siren has written a incredible, fascinating book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this book is: a woman who came back for her father's funeral and later discovers that the ranch is in financial difficulties (Harper), the man who grew up poor and left her to become a rich man in real estate (Lincoln), drama, grief, memories, sibling disagreements, emotional distance, resistance, anger, hostility, animosity, nostalgia, attractions, running away, messing up, apologizes, lust, emotional feelings, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written and keeps the reader’s attention. The characters are well developed with personalities and moods suited to the situations they find themselves in. This is a well-written Bad Boy Billionaire Romance with a HEA and I would recommend this book to people that like to read this kind of book

I received this ARC and am voluntarily giving an honest review.
This is the story of Harper and Lincoln high school best friends who became so much more. While Harper is planning her forever with Lincoln, he is planning his escape from the town he lives in.
Tia gives you a wonderful story filled with emotion and the writing expertly combines past and present and each main character's POV.
It took years for Harper to get over what Lincoln did to her and now she is all alone in her parents house trying to save her parents legacy.
Lincoln couldn't wait to get out of the town and make something of himself. He was never going to be bullied again because he didn't have something. When he returns home at the request of his mother all the old feelings and insecurities come out.
When Lincoln sets out to help Harper can she give him a second chance in her heart? Will Lincoln be able to put his insecurities aside and be the man Harper needs?
As the story unfolds there will be times when you ache for what Harper is going through and you will want to slap Lincoln upside his head.
Another wonderful story from Tia - maybe one of her best.

A Good Read

The storyline was well written. You don't immediately like the male character but he does redeem himself in the end. The female character, I didn't like at all because she was sort of a push over when it was all said and done. The plot was good. The second story was much of the same theme but the sex was hotter. I would recommend this book because it was about second chances at love.

Lincoln and Harper have history together, but so much time has passed with them apart too. I have to say the new Lincoln I did not like at all. The old Lincoln was perfect in my eyes. The chemistry between Lincoln and Harper was undeniable. It was scorching HOT. I love second chances and HEA books. I highly recommend this book.

Lincoln left Harper after their first and only time, without a word. Ten years later, shes all alone after her parents pass. Can the poor boy turned billionaire redeem himself in her eyes? Harper and Lincoln blew me away. So well written. So emotional all around. Enjoy!!!

Big Bad Rancher by Tia Siren *** Just ok
20 year old Lincoln left his poor roots, his hick home town, and his love Harper, to go to the city and make his fortune -- with no explanation. Ten years later he's back in town, rich, but also an irritating conceited jackass. To win Harper back however, he has to evaluate his priorities. This is a story of redemption, but I had a hard time getting vested because I spent so much of the story disliking Lincoln. Then the story had a quick HEA. Disclosure: I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this story.

Big Bad Rancher

Harper was left by her boyfriend Lincoln after sex which too her virginity. She was heartbroken. Lincoln comes back and leases her ranch when he finds she is in dire straights after her parents die. He has to work hard if she is going to forgive him. They get close and he leaves again after having sex with her. She is livid. The bonus stories are fun. I am not a fan of the "clean" romances and there was a duplication of one of the bonus stories.

The Return of Lincoln

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book, Big Bad Rancher by Tia Siren.

I am really enjoying Tia's Big Bad series. It keeps me glued to my seat till the end of each one. They are so sexy and positively dirty, I can't get enough. I devour each book and hunger for more.
Harper had just lost her father, a few months after her mother died and then learns she is in serious danger of losing her home to the bank. Lincoln, Harper's HS sweetheart and love of her life, is back in town after abandoning her 10 years prior. When Lincoln learns of Harper's financial difficulties he decides to help but she is far from thrilled to learn of this. Lincoln shattered Harper's heart into a billion pieces when he ran off 10 years ago and never looked back. No contact in 10 years! Harper can't figure out why Lincoln is back and what he wants from her. And she is having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that this cold, arrogant man is the boy she once loved.

A great story about second chances by Tia Siren. Lincoln & Harper were high school sweethearts and he left her after their first time. He wanted more than being poor and left w/o a word to Harper to make something of himself in New York. Ten years later he returns a changed man, someone who Harper doesn't like, she wants the sweet, thoughtful, kind man that left. Now he is a conceited billionaire who thinks money and status is more important.
I didn't like Lincoln at all in the beginning but really liked Harper, she was still strong, kind and beautiful. The author did an amazing job of hating Lincoln one minute but then actually seeing his POV and liking him the next. When he finally redeemed himself and became the man he used to be with money and did everything he could to win Harper back....I couldn't help but like him even more.
Great book about heartache, second chances & lust/love that turns into something real.

This is a story of second chances and realizing that just because you know have all the money and influence in the world now does not make you a better person, certainly not to the girl who fell in love with you at 16.Lincoln was the poor boy in eighth grade that well off Harper befriended by sharing her lunch with him one day. They become friends, fell in love & become lovers one night at 18 and in the morning Harper woke alone, under their tree while Lincoln went off to acquire the money and stature that he wanted so badly. Now,years later the roles are reversed as Harper's parents have passed, the ranch is run down & in debt and now self made man Lincoln sweeps in wanting to help. When he returns he is arrogant and the sweet boy Harper knew seems to be gone but as they work to get the ranch back up to its former glory Harper begins to see glimpses of the boy she loved.the begin to get to know each other again.Just when you think the happily ever after is not going to happen you get a surprise.Good read about second chances & that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

This is a short story that takes a couple hours to read. It is perfect for a lazy afternoon. There was a lot of emotion at times from Harper, so much so that I found myself tearing up at points. She had had a rough year when her ex waltzed back in her life as easily as he had walked out. Feelings she thought were gone and buried were brought to the surface, making her trauma so much worse. Lincoln took a long time to even remotely like. He was arrogant and couldn't understand how Harper could be offended by the demeaning things he would say. He was so far removed from her feelings that he came across as a grade A jerk. Did he ever realize the error of his ways? Did he and Harper get a second chance at love? Give this one a read to find out.

This one's a bit different than what I've come to expect from Tia Siren. For lack of a better word, it's softer than other books I've read in this series. I didn't care for Lincoln at all in the beginning of this story. He came across as an arrogant jerk and the name and designer dropping started to become tedious. In fact, I was starting to wonder if I was going to like the book and was really hoping that Harper would just walk away. But, I kept going and Tia pulled it all together. That side of the character started making perfect sense and I started to root for this couple's second chance. This one isn't just about romance - it's about redemption, forgiveness, coming home, and finding self-worth.

I'm torn between rating this book a 3 or 4 stars because I personally found Lincoln pretty condescending and pretentious towards the place and people he grew up with. He took off, without a goodbye, to better himself, but she never hears a word from him in years. I loved Harper, she was strong, smart, and didn't put up with his bull****. She was way nicer than I would have been. Still, a good read

Big Bad Rancher
Tia Siren

A second chance romance. With a country boy who grew up and turned city but never forgot the girl. And a country woman who's down on her luck but never forgot the boy who left her.

Harper is losing is it all slowly. With her mother's passing months ago and then her father. The wounds are still fresh. It doesn't help that after all the great her family has done in the past. That they were in debt and she is scrabbling to find ways to pay off the debt for the farm. When a lease signer comes through, she is none too happy for who wants to lease her land...

Lincoln is back in the little town Dubois Wyoming. Where it all started. He never wanted to come back to this quaint little town. He left it all behind to become big shot city slicker, never once looking back but he never forgot. When returning reluctantly he spies some property for rent on the Callahan land. Memories of Harper as his past girlfriend and walking out. What he doesn't realize he has a long hill to climb to get back into Harper's good graces.  Will he be able to break the ice around Harper's heart?
