feeeeeeels people, feels every where!
First I want to give mad props to Rie Warren for both Brooklyn Holt & Delaney Jones. Their characters where the best for each other. They absolutely brought out the best in each other. She created two very complimentary people that were a joy to read about! Their chemistry will keep you reading in one sitting!
The book is everything you could ask for. It had passion and suspense with not a lot of angst. There's twist and turns and also some predictability all wrapped up in a really well unfolded plot. Two very head-strong people with obstacles within themselves and with each other to overcome that will warm your heart by the end.

This is the second book of the Bad Boy Ballers series and it focuses on Brooklyn 'Brooks' Holt and Delaney 'Laney' Jones, Brooks plays for the Carolina Crushers whilst Laney plays for the Carolina Cougars, there's a strict no fraternization rule in place but it doesn't stop these two giving love a chance but first they both have to overcome issues from their pasts.
Rie Warren gives us it all in this book there's sadness, happiness and plenty of laughter thanks to the hilarious banter between the H and h even more so when you add in the secondary characters they're just a great bunch of people who are close, you could tell they all loved and cared for each other like one big family.
Rie's exemplary writing skills hooked me right in from the very first sentence making this a thoroughly enjoyable read, I've previously read her Carolina Bad Boys MC series which was brilliant and this series is shaping up to be just as good. I'm looking forward to seeing what's in-store next for the Bad Boy Ballers.

After, Carolinas Crush tight end, Brooklyn Holt divorced his wife he slept with any woman who looked his way but once he noticed Delaney Jones, the Quarterback of the all female Carolina Cougars he decided he wanted her. However, Delaney is not interested and shoots him down. Brooklyn wont be swayed and slowly but surely gets his date with Delaney. He knew she had a reason to be skittish but when she reveals why Brooklyn just wants to protect her but he knows she needs to battle her demons herself, even if he plans on being by her side.
Great read. The chemistry is phenomenal on this one. I was surprised by Delaney's back story and was pleased with how the story unfolded. If your looking for a sports book, one to pick up.a

Brooklyn Holt is the Carolina Crush's best tight end, and being in the NFL makes sure that he can have any woman he wants. And gets them he does, as his nasty divorce has put him off of love. With his team on a winning streak, he didn't think life could get any better, but he was wrong. Delaney Jones is the QB of the all female Carolina Cougars, has made a vow to never get involved with a man, especially a baller. That doesn't change the fact that she's very attracted to Brooklyn, and he's not making it any easier as he's pursuing her with everything he has. Brooks wants Delaney very badly, and will go to any lengths to make it happen, but will she ever let him past her walls? Oh holy hell Batman, this BOOK WAS AWESOME! I spent the majority of the book trying to decide who I loved more, Brooks or Delaney. She was an EPIC female, and is at the top of the list for favorites. A female football star who is bad a**, well sign me up! And the Texas boy was amazing, not to mention how refreshing it was that he had no crazy stalkers trying to mess with them. Together, they will destroy panties everywhere, as the sexy scene goodness is made of FIERY FLAMES of serious heat that I couldn't get enough of. Rie Warren is already a favorite author of mine, but she hit new levels of brilliance with this fantastic football romance. And did I mention that the well placed humor, (think men in the NFL cheerleading uniforms), kept me laughing hard throughout. I'm so hoping that there will be more in this AWESOME series, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL FAR AND WIDE!

So, I've heard divorce tempts you to take a walk on the wild side, because after a broken heart, you just want to have some fun. Yep, that's Brooklyn 'Brooks' Holt, tight end for the Carolina Crush...no strings, no feelings, just fun, until the day Delaney Jones steps on the field.
The second installment in the Carolina Crush series (Bad Boy Ballers) is just as fun and entertaining as the first. Brooks and Delaney are breaking all the rules, especially the no fraternization rule, but the heart wants what the heart wants and Brooks is on a mission. Can we say, all time perfect date...picnic on the beach via horseback...*swoon*
These two will have to overcome some demons from Delaney's past and some heartbreak, but the real thing is worth the fight. I love how their true nature shines through all the BS they've erected to protect themselves and come out the other side better together.

I am never ever disappointed with a Rie Warren story. I can always except the perfect cocktail of sex, angst, and romance with a dash of happily ever-after.
Free Baller is the second installment in Rie's Bad Boy Ballers series and it's here we meet my brand new, favorite, lovable alpha book boyfriend Brooks Holt and the beautiful, strong fiercely-independent, I have a total girl crush Delaney Jones.
Brooks and Delaney have instant chemistry... he is ready to act on it, her not so much; but when they finally get together, holy moly fireworks!
Rie has trully written a very powerful story of second chances and personal growth. Yes, the story is steamy and oh so sexy but there is so much more depth to this story. It's a story that proves we are more than our pasts; that we can overcome any obstacle and not only be who we want to be but grow into our own person.
It's a story of remarkable strength.

Brooklyn "Baller" Holt is known for his playing off the field almost as much for on the field. After a nasty divorce, Brooklyn decided love wasn't worth the heartache, that is until Delaney Jones stepped on to the field. Brooklyn has to fight more than he has ever had to just get Delaney to talk to him, let alone give him a chance to prove he is not the player he is known for being. Just when things seem to be working out for Brooklyn and Delaney, Delaney's past comes back to haunt her.
I absolutely LOVED Brooklyn and Delaney! Rie Warren is such an amazing author and Free Baller is one of my favorite reads so far this year! Definitely a MUST READ!

Go immediately to Amazon and 1-click with no hesitation! You will love reading about Delaney and Brooklyn aka Girth Brooks. The story is totally entertaining and you will not want to put down. This is one of the first few books that I have read by Rie and I assure it will not be my last. And, pick up Million Dollar Baby prior to and be in the know.

My Review:
I'll admit, I'm a huge sports romance fan so when I heard Rie Warren was tackling this trope, I squeed. She hasn't disappointed. Her Carolina Crush are a football team that you can get behind, from the huge Akona who's known for his huge heart as well as his huge size to the great backstory about the team owner. This is a team that only a year ago were the underdogs (in book #1) and now are making their play for the playoffs...led by Brooklyn Holt.
But in a twist for a heroine, the other half of this story is ALSO a football player. Delaney is the QB for the Carolina Cougars, a women's pro team, that play mini-games during the halftime for the Crush. I love that Delaney was a jock in her own right. (I don't know how off I am, but I kept imagining her as Pink...tough and fit and fierce, but yet still gorgeous and feminine.)
I also loved that there was a bit of danger through a suspense story line happening in the background of the story, and YES...Delaney is one tough girl who doesn't need a man to protect her. The thing about that is that Brooks is a natural alpha...his default mode is protection, but for the most part he allows Delaney to be who she is, too. I kind of loved that. He respects her boundaries. No, he's not happy about keeping his mouth shut sometimes, but he respects her emotions enough to let her work through things at her own pace.
Overall these baller books are fun reads. They're pure entertainment for entertainment's sake. I enjoyed this one, especially the way the suspense up'ed the "must read all the words now" factor. I liked both Delaney and Brooks and am falling in love with each and every member of the team. Even the guy who's a douche...I have a feeling Rie has big plans for him that will change my mind about how I feel about him.
Note: Rie Warren had a grittier style of writing that won't appeal to everyone. If you've never read her before, I urge you to take a look at the sample on Amazon just to make sure you can handle her style. I'll admit it always jolts me a bit when I first start reading, but once I settle into the rhythm of the book, it works, especially with the characters she writes and the venues where they work.

I wonder if it’s possible to get a ‘Baller! Baller! Baller!’ chant started via book review? I feel like I should try, because if anyone deserves it, it’s Brooklyn Holt, the (bearded) titular Free Baller in book two of Rie Warren’s Bad Boy Ballers series. Because HOLY WOW, you guys, he was simply divine.
Or, to borrow Delaney’s own thoughts…
Sweet. Humble. Protective.
It’s the perfect description for this delicious tight end (incidentally, he has a delicious tight end of his own *wink wink*), who absolutely made me melt. It wasn’t just the way he respected the hell out of Laney, or the fact that every facet of her kick-ass personality turned him on, or even the way he talked dirty and acted dirtier.
It was all of those things, coupled with the fact he knew and loved that she was strong.
And damn, was she ever strong. I absolutely adored her. She was everything I love in a heroine—a take-no-shit fighter, a persistent player and sassy, sassy, sassy. She more than held her own against the Carolina Crush players, and she was absolutely #GOALS in basically all things.
Maybe I should get a ‘Laney! Laney! Laney!’ chant going instead, hmm?
But then again… that doesn’t take into account all the other things that make Free Baller one addictive read. Things like Brooks’ teammates—Calder, Bunyan, Akoni (that weepy giant)—and the edge of your seat action. Things like Frankie the tailor and Rafe + Peyton {the central characters of Million Baller Baby (Bad Boy Ballers Book 1)}, who make memorable appearances.
Things like the fact that Brooks was part-baller, part-cowboy and I. Love. Cowboys. Ungh.
So, where does that leave me? I think starting a chant for the woman who penned this book, bringing these characters and this story to life in a hot, funny, sweet and suspenseful manner. Say it with me:
‘Rie! Rie! Rie!’
We fought hard. Played hard. But we loved even harder, with our whole hearts.

The second book in the Bad Boy Ballers series featuring Brooklyn Holt. All of the Baller books can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading them in order. They are fast paced sports romance with a touch of angst and A LOT of sexy times.
Brooklyn Holt aka “Brooks” is recently divorced. He is disappointed that his marriage did not work out and that his wife did not share the same dreams as he did, including having a family. Trying to ease his pain of the divorce with women, a lot of women, has earned him the reputation of being a Baller….
My reputation preceded me. After the painful divorce, I’d maybe-sorta f@cked everything pretty that moved.
Delany Jones has lived a life quite the opposite. With pretty much no family except for an abusive husband, she craves the possibility of a loving family with children. She is alone and hiding from her husband. Delaney is closed off because of her hurtful past with her husband (soon to be ex).
…I wasn’t young enough, stupid enough, or foolish enough to put myself in the position of being any man’s joy ride.

I love how Rie crosses her series by randomly including one or two characters from a previous series. All the characters are unforgettable and it's great to see them popping up when least expected.
My Favorite Laughable Moment is when Brooklyn performs a little Flo Rida number on the field. I think I laughed as hard as Delaney.

I have been a fan of Rie Warren since her X-Ops series, and this series is now another of my favorites.
Who doesn’t love a hot as sin, football-playing cowboy? Brooklyn Holt is a perfect dream!
Brooklyn Holt is trying to shake off the after-effects of his divorce. Women come easy and his team is finally winning games. Even with all this, he still feels lonely.
The gorgeous quarterback for the Carolina Cougars, Delaney Jones, has definitely peaked his interest. She is beautiful, smart, takes no crap from anyone, and plays his favorite game: football.
Delaney Jones wants nothing to do with men after her crazy husband. She had done everything she can to make sure he can’t find her. She certainly didn’t expect to fall for Brooklyn Holt. He is a male slut; at least that is what she thinks he is.
As the two spend more and more time together, they realize they were wrong about each other and that there is a lot deeper down to discover.
These two characters were smoking hot together. I couldn’t get enough of them!
This was an awesome sports romance. I definitely recommend this book as well as book 1!

In this second book about the Carolina Crush, we follow Delaney and Brooklyn. Who is Delaney and what is her job? What is Brooklyn's position on the Crush team? Who is Brianna and why is Brooks hurting because of her? What did she do? On the flight home from the last game, Brooks takes up a seat next to Delaney. What happens on the plane? What does everyone do? What does Brooks do for Delaney and what does she realize as they come in for landing? Holy hell, the sexual tension between Delaney and Brooklyn is OFF THE CHARTS!!! Oh my god. Watching Delaney fighting what is clearly going to be inevitable is so much fun. Who is Eric? How does he play into things and what does he do that almost ruins Delaney? Who does Brooklyn call for help when he finds out about Eric? You are going to have to read this book to find out exactly what happens and what had me unable to put the book down.

As always, Rie Warren delivers a fantastic story complete with all the feels and emotions a reader could want. If you fell a little in love with Brooklyn in Million Baller Baby, you'll tumble the rest of the way in this story. He's a large and sweet country boy who has a heart the size of Texas. He is still reeling from a heart-rending divorce when he mets Delaney Jones. Lusty sparks fly but soon the attraction becomes more...it transforms to love. You throw a bad boy ex if for Delaney, and you have not only a touch down, but definitely hell yeah in the win column. I'm not sure which of the wonderful Carolina Crush players Rie has on tap next, but they're on my auto buy list.

Free Baller by Rie Warren is the 2nd book in the Bad Boy Ballers Series. This book has Brooks after his divorce and you get to meet Delaney. Both are scarred from their pasts, both don't want relationships and both break the rules when they start to fraternize with each other. This book was funny, sad at times and had some suspense when Delaney's past catches up to her. Now I'm wondering who book 3 will about?

This was a cute short story. With both mains playing football, I got some football action that I love. Even though the book was short, I felt I got enough character building and story line to keep my interest peaked. I would like to have had more when it ended, so much was left to their story but maybe in the next book their HEA will come through and provide me with a little closure for this couple. There was actually more sex than story but somehow it equaled out and I enjoyed the book.

If you like a sports romance Free Baller is a great choice. This book has it all...great writing, interesting characters and chemistry that's off the charts. With a few twist and turns in the story Brooklyn and Delaney are finally able to move beyond the hurt in their past relationships and help each other heal in order to find their happiness.

I love these characters. Brooks with his down to earth country boy ways is exactly what Delaney needs to heal and start over. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, and I'm not even a fan of football!

I loved this book. It had amazing characters. I wanted to read a sports romance and this book was that and more.
They had a bunch of personal obstacles to get threw and I loved going on their journey to get there.
The book gripped me and didn't let go.

I liked this one. Brooklyn was a bit of a sweety and Delaney was a bit of a badarse, it worked.
This is the second in the series and I started here. Brooklyn was constantly sweet and respectful and Delaney capitulated pretty quickly so the romance got started pretty early.. It was pretty hot, fair bit of sex. Lots of sweet moments that showed Brooklyn was all in, early on. There was also elements of suspense with Delaney's past making appearances.
It was pretty standard in plot, pace and events but if you like sports romances and want something that'll hit the spot at 270 pages, this will do it.
I'm a slow burn kinda girl so this was too short for me to really love. Pace felt too quick but all the elements were there and well written.

This is book two in this series and after reading book one and falling in love with Rafe I was worried that book two might not measure up but my fears were for naught.
This book ticks every box I have and then some. It has an awesome cover. It has a hero that is alpha, romantic, sensitive, and funny let's face it our dream guy. It also has a female lead who is strong and can hold her own against this sexy brut.
The story has plenty of steam if you like that (who doesn't) but it just has more. It goes deeper and grabs your heartstrings and makes you feel for the characters. I was so connected to the story and every page made me fall even harder for Brooklyn Holt and respect Delaney too.
This sports romance will have you flipping pages as fast as your fingers can go just to find out more but then be bummed when you finish the book. That is always a sign of a great read for me.

Brooklyn and Delaney's story is fun, sweet, heartbreaking, suspenseful and passionate all wrapped up in one story! The chemistry between the two characters is off the charts! Delaney is strong, beautiful, sexy and has an inner strength that will blow your mind. The way she takes charge of her life is so inspiring! Brooks' determination to keep Delaney safe is so swoonworthy. I was hooked from the start.
