New Life Tabernacle #2

Restoration Song

Rate this book
Sixteen years ago, Sophia Thomas, pastor’s wife and first lady of New Life Tabernacle, packed her bags and disappeared, leaving her husband and church to wonder where, and why, she’d gone. Now she’s secretly come back, hoping to repair her fragile relationship with her ailing mother. But her return doesn't stay secret for long. And neither do the reasons why she left. As the truth comes out, it opens old wounds, threatens new relationships, and exposes deeds better left in the past. Amid the turmoil, Sophia must decide whether to remain behind the wall of isolation she's built around herself or risk her broken heart by learning to live again.

Vers gold book

I thought book started off a little irritatingly slow but that was because the thrill and shocking suspense was at the peak. Just when I thought I figured it out I was wrong. This book was cleverly written. I could not put it down. After reading it I reflect on the message that spoke to me. Anger is never a friend. Lies and secrets will only make things worse. God says your secret sins will find you out. Forgiveness is inevitable and judgement should always be left up to God. Only He knows how to shut the mouths of the naysayers while bringing restoration to the misunderstood, the humble, the weak and the hurting. This book should show us that hurting people only hurt other people as they refuse to fall before the feet of the Master, telling the Father all that is in their heart. What a lesson to learn. Give all your issues to God. He not only knows and understands but He is the only one who can bring restoration to your soul. Good read.

A much needed read

We never know what we need sometimes until e are right in the middle of it. As the wife of an associate pastor and sometimes feeling like you need someone to throw you a life ring bc running away would be so much easier. Let me just say God spoke to me in this read.

Great Summer Read!

Book 2 in the Restoration Series resonated more with me than the first book. The First Book was an introduction to the characters and the life they were living, this book got into the meat of who they were and what made them like that. It made for a more believable character and one I could identify with. Great story! Once I started I couldn't put it down. Each chapter had me getting deeper into the story, so much so that I could imagine being a fly on the wall taking this all in. I could vividly picture being at Patti's funeral! Lord have mercy! Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This series is truly touching my soul. This second book introduced Sophia, former First Lady & daughter to Patti, a loved mother of the church whose days were ending. While Patti initially made Sophia's 16 year return a nightmare, the appearance of an unexpected Samaritan helped mend their relationship. This story had several layers & appearances from book 1 characters. Storyline was devine & emotional as these characters worked through their situations. While it took me the majority of day to read, content was what title implied. Great read & I'm looking forward to reading the next book

Restoration!!!

I really enjoyed this book. It has so many real-life parallels! The characters were inspirational & entertaining at the same time. It's never okay to omit the full truth...in doing so, you communicate a lie. Some of the characters learned this the hard way. "No matter how deep the damage, restoration is possible." We just have to allow God to bring it! Loved this story...loved the characters!! Great story LaShonda Bowman💞

Awesome book. Sophia Thomas, was the first lady of New Life Tabernacle, packed her bags and left. Sophia left her husband, church, and family. Sophia comes back home after sixteen years due to her mom being sick. Sophia was a strong woman to hold onto the secret that could have destroyed her husband years ago.

Restoration

Restoration is the action of returning something or someone to original owner, place or condition or value. This is what Lashonda accomplished in writing this novel with the help of the Holy Spirit. All the characters were restored back to God & each other. God's restoration is priceless. Thanks Lashonda.

Restoration Song

Sophia's story was a gripping story about how choices made by others can effect your life negatively for years. It's best to face the truth when events happen. Don't keep secrets. I love this book. I recommend this book to everyone.

Not R rated

I loved the story line and the characters. The story could have included more details and descriptions. What was Patti's medical diagnosis? Hip problems or some cancer?

Wow!! Restoration

Best book I've read in a while. This was a very good story. The things that happen are real life issues that happen in churches and families still today. Old adage " what's done in the dark comes to light sooner or later." Can't wait to start book 3.
