An imperious summons from former spymaster Dominic Hunter is always cause for concern, as Jack Easton, Marquess of Lendale, well knows. When Jack discovers that some of the Renegade Royals, the most dangerous men in England, are also guests at Dominic’s country house party, he’s even more suspicious.
But before Jack can get to the bottom of things, a mysterious baby girl is found abandoned in the stables. The tyke is in desperate need of a new family, and each of the wives of the Renegade Royals wants to adopt her. Griffin Steele, Alasdair Gilbride, and Aden St. George will do anything to please their ladies, and that means an all-out competition to prove which of them would make the best father.
When a former crime lord and two lethal spies take on the task of caring for the baby, it’s up to Jack to decide who does the best job. But none of the men have any idea how much mayhem one little girl can create!

This is one of the best short stories! It's sweet and funny and heartwarming. It was great revisiting the Renegade Royals. If you've read this series then you definitely need to read this.
The best part of the story is the fact relationships are already established but easy to follow as a new reader. A little bit Three Men and A Baby where the men are forced to reconcile a new era of marriages. The women are hilariously plotting and yet it all works. Solid read.
Absolutely Wonderful!! This novella is both a sequel and a Prequel. In this story you meet Jack Easton, Marquess of Lendale attending a house party given by Chloe and Dominic from "Talk, Dark and Royal". When he arrives he meets other Renegades and realizes that Chloe and Dominic are cousins to another Royal Bastard who has lived on his estate for 20 years, Lia Kincaid, who you will meet in the next Book in The Improper Princesses Book.
This story is about an abandoned baby left in Chloe and Dominic's stable and which one of the Renegades will adopt the child. The wives decide the best way to see who can care for the baby is to leave them alone with the baby without help from them or the servants. To make it more interesting the ladies have picked Jack to judge the competition and he cannot tell the Renegades.
I laughed so hard my husband looked at me like I was crazy. Reading about an infant that reduces three grown men into helpless panic was hysterical. Changing her diaper, feeding her and then putting her down for a nap has exhausted the men and they wonder how women do this everyday.
This is vintage Vanessa Kelly, handsome powerful men that are defeated by a strong female, and this time it is an infant. Who gets to adopt the little girl and take her home? You also get a peak into her next novel and the hero Jack. I loved this novella, it always great when you have a love story and laughter combined in an Historical Romance. Do not miss this novella for the bargain price of 99 cents.
A lovely vignette with characters we have come to love, and an introduction to the next book in the series---I already like Jack and look forward to his story.
A quick and fun read from one of my favorite authors.
Jack is a new marquess who has inherited an estate that is in great need of financial support. He has been invited to a house party. The house party is being hosted by Dominic Hunter, a former spymaster. Although he is not exactly certain why he is attending a family house party, he is interested to learn the reason. When a baby is abandoned on the estate, Jack is drafted by the ladies in the family to observe and report on three cousins. Griffin, Alec and Aden have developed a competition to find out which of them will be selected to adopt the baby. Each of them have a wife who has shown interest in the baby girl, and each of the men are determined to win what their wives want. This is a quick and entertaining read. Ms Kelly has created characters who are amusing as well as charming. The married couples are all devoted to one another and every adult wants to do what will be best for this abandoned baby. The competition illustrates the true nature of these men. I enjoyed this novella very much.
This is not a romance in the typical romance style of novellas. It is in fact a hilarious short but sweet novel about three hulky and scary men in the regency era and the little one who manages to bring them to their knees. Ms. Kelly revisits some of her hero’s (and their wives) to bring her readers this short treat while tempting their appetites for the next story. In the mood for a laugh and some sweetness, pick this one up and the only disappointment you will have is that Ms. Kelly’s next novel isn’t out until this summer.
An abandoned baby girl creates chaos when three men fight over who gets to keep her. Their wives call in a fourth and give him the task to decide which one handles the challenge the best. A very charming and entertaining short, short story and the toddler who grabs the heart of three strong men. Maybe the fourth one, too.
A sweet story that (to me like 3 men and a baby) had me laughing and left me a bit misty-eyed at the end. I had not read the Renegade Royals novels YET but have read the 2 Improper Princess. I wasn't totally lost but might re-read this after I read the Renegade Royals novels .
Tricked into a weekend in the country with acquaintances, Jack finds fun and mysteries at every turn. Babies, pregnant moms and beautiful women are on this weekend agenda. But, why?
Entertaining story of men left to care for a wee one. Great solution to determine which couple deserves to adopt Lizzie. A delightful read bound to make you chuckle.
A cute story that evoked laughter and left me a bit misty-eyed at the end. One caveat: I loved this because I had read the Renegade Royals novels. I think readers unfamiliar with those books would be lost.
