She could be the one to save him… if she doesn’t burn him alive first.
Ex-SEAL Walker Roman can never forget the carnage he witnessed during wartime. It haunts his dreams and lurks in the darkness of his every waking moment, ceaseless and unstoppable, no matter what he does to quiet his demons.
Until the first time he sees the beautiful Ashleigh. For a moment, the demons scatter.
One look at her sparkling blue eyes, and he’ll do anything to take her home. It doesn’t matter what secrets the strip club waitress has hiding in those depths... He needs her, naked and moaning his name, now.
But those secrets are dangerous, and Walker doesn’t know he’s stepped into a minefield. Before he can so much as steal a kiss, they’re on the run from the Russian mob, hiding out in his hometown.
Walker knows the smart choice is to turn the girl over and save himself - but with every glance, every touch, and every kiss, he falls harder for his Doll.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, will Walker and Ashleigh let go?
Or will Ashleigh learn that a ring from a SEAL really means forever?
First of all let me tell you, the cover of the version I read is all wrong. Ash is supposed to be a red head not a freaking brunette and second Walker doe not have a beard and his hair is supposed to be close cut. I am sorry for starting the review with a negative light but I am stickler when it comes to people not matching the book covers with the appropriate characters. The least one could do is match them even if they are plagiarizing it from somewhere else.
Now for the positive points. The book was more of a sweet ride than anything. Walker was one of the sweetest and kindest SEAL I've read in the bookverse. Mostly we've got ex-militia being all alpha male and bad-ass but Walker was the opposite. Sure he was strong when he needed to be and totally protected his girl and his family and stood up at the time of need but what I loved about him was that he did't have to be jack-ass while he's at it. Although at some points I wish they gave us more closure on the story because I felt as if they left many questions unanswered in the story. This also maybe due to the fact that I haven't read the previous books and they clarified them in those. but I really wished they told us more as in why the Roman boys did not like their stepmother and also whether
Other than that the story was a quick read with the least amount of angst available and literally hit the point without too much bullshit.
TITLE OF BOOK: SEAL’S TOUCH AUTHOR OF BOOK: VIVIAN WOOD DATE READ: MARCH 17, 2017
CAN WALKER GET OVER THE DEATH OF HIS FIANCEE AND FIND LOVE WITH ASHLEIGH WHO HAS HER OWN DEMONS TO GET AWAY FROM?
“Seal’s Touch” is one of the reasons that I follow Vivian Wood and read her books. She is one of my favorite authors because she knows how to write the BAD BOY and keep him Bad at the same time letting him find what he needs to be happy. The storyline keeps you reading till the end of the book. The characters keep you wrapped up in their lives and at the same time you are feeling everything they feel. You smile, cry, laugh, swoon over the hunky males, and find yourself wanting to be the leading lady’s place during the sex scenes. You will also find yourself wanting to jump in and kick ass with the rest of them. Vivian never lets me down. Her writing is a work of art and Seal’s Touch is one of her masterpieces. You do not want to miss this book.
Walker Roman is an ex-Seal and he can’t get all the death he witnessed while in the Navy. It still haunts his dreams. Just like the death of his fiancée Jenny still haunts his dreams. She is the reason that he won’t let himself find love and is at odds with his father, the Colonel. He is still grieving for her. He is in New Orleans at a bachelor party for one of his Seal buddies when he is approached by a red headed “Doll.” Seeing her somehow made his demons disappear at that time. The strip club waitress made Walker feel things he had not felt in a long time. Then before he knows it he is rescuing this blue eyed “Doll” from the Russian Mafia and taking her home with him to keep her safe and to keep the Colonel off his ass about getting married. His growing need for her outweighs the need to protect himself and send her packing. So, he decides to get her to agree to pretend to be his fiancée to keep the Colonel and his brothers off his back and in exchange he will give her a roof over her head and protection from her demons.
Ashleigh (Doll) is a strip club waitress and she has been owned by the Russian Mafia since her parents died when she was 16. She had no place to go and everything she made went to paying a huge debt supposedly owed the Russians. But this one night she comes face to face with the one person she never dreamed would become her protector. But this gorgeous man she approaches in the strip club really makes her feel something other than dread and despair. Then before she knows it he is taking her away from her horrid life and is on the run with her in order to protect her. So, she accepts his proposal of pretending to be his fiancée for a safe place to live. But she starts to develop feeling for this man. Can Walker keep them both safe from the Russians? Will Walker give into his growing feelings for Ashleigh, or will he let his demons over his dead fiancée stand in between them?
No Spoilers. Advanced Reader Copy read voluntarily and loved it all.
SEAL's Touch by Vivian Wood is Book 3 of the Small Town SEALs series and is a Bad Boy Romance
Ex-SEAL Walker gets dragged to a strip club for his fellow ex-SEAL friend Carter's bachelor party, but isn't excited to be there like his friends because strip clubs have never appealed to him. Walker's family's been bugging him to settle down and get married, what with him being 29 and all. Walker's brothers have even lined up a candidate for him, but he's just not interested in tying the knot ... until he saw a sexy red-headed waitress at the strip club. After Walker and his friends are kicked out of the strip club and banned from coming back when one of his friends manhandles Ashleigh, Walker's friends bug him to go back and give the waitress his number. Walker agrees in order to get his friends off his back and walks around to the back entrance where he sees the waitress getting roughed up by the bouncer. An enraged Walker knocks out the bouncer and takes Ashleigh back to his hotel, where she falls asleep.
Ashleigh wakes up in Walker's bed, and wakes him up to thank him before she leaves, but she has no money and nowhere to go. Ashleigh was taken by the Russian at age 16 and forced to work at the strip club to pay off her dead drug addict parents' debts. The club owners have threatened to either sell her to a Middle Eastern sheikh or as a s** slave. After Walker hears Ashleigh's story, he puts forth a proposition ... Ashleigh could go back home with him as his fake fiancée. Ashleigh would be far away and safe from Russian mob and Walker's family would stop pressuring him to settle down if he returned with a fake fiancée. Ashleigh agrees and soon settles into a happy life with the sweet, nice and gorgeous Walker. After Walker's overbearing father sets a wedding date, Ashleigh goes into town to select a wedding dress. Unfortunately, as Ashleigh is having lunch after selecting a dress, she notices her ex-workers taking photos of her, then the club's bouncer shows up and tells her "You either need to come back with me right now, or you cough up a million dollars for Mr. Solokov to pay off your debt.” Will Walker be able to keep Ashleigh safe now that the Russian mob have found her?
SEAL's Touch is a gripping story that's thrilling, suspenseful and steamy. Vivian Wood's hero and heroine's deep connection grew over time into something more, and their sizzling chemistry is red hot, making for a very exciting and tantalizing read. I highly recommend this book.
Oh those Roman brothers are back and this time its Walker Roman's turn to get his HEA. Walker is a quiet man, one who like quiet and solitude due to the demons he has been fighting yet deep down I always felt he was looking for his happiness. And he found her in the beautiful Ashleigh. And he finds her in the place he last thought he would. When he is at a strip club with his brothers(SEALS brothers), it is there he is hit with insta love when he sees Ashleigh and she is a waitress there and then later when he sees the club's bouncers giving the same beautiful young woman a very hard time . He is able to get her to leave with him and soon there after , he finds out her life story and from then on, chemistry between them is hot and so complex. All I can say is , Walker didn't need a simple woman in his life, he needed a complex woman to make him sit up and come back to living again and that is what Ashleigh does...
Ashleigh has had such a rough life- her start in life wasn't the best and how they met isn't the greatest and it wasn't because she wanted to be there. I don't want to give too much away. It is her lucky day when Walker comes into her life. She is a broken soul who literally runs into Walker who is another broken soul...two souls crying out for one another. They complete one another and the heat between them is off the chains erotically good. Their journey is one that I am so glad I was able to take with these characters . Ms. Wood has another hit on her hands...
My rating: 4.7 stars **** **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
This is awesome bad boy story that will keep wanting more. The two characters are both battle their own demons that is holding them back from a relationship with any one. Ashleigh is caught in nowhere land since she owns by the Russian mafia. When she meets Walker, she feels something. Walker has shut himself off from everyone from the nightmares he has about being a seal and the loss of Jennifer. When the two are bought together to protect Ashleigh from the threat against her. The feeling is starting to come to the front and will they give in to them or let the past hold them back? The suspense of the story will keep you on the edge. You can feel the steamy chemistry between walker and Ashleigh that they heat up the pages. Recommend this book you will fall in love with the bad boy
I fell in love with this family from the very beginning. Sawyer & Remy, Colt & Rose all had their own stories to tell, much like Walker & Ashleigh do in this book. Walker always was the backward standoffish brother that no one really knew about...but there was something about him from the first that had me wondering what his story was. I found out in this book and wanted to weep. Ashleigh brought him through the bad and made him fell like he had sunlight in his life again in a short period of time. After he saved her the first time, you can see the chemistry they had between them was strong and wouldn't hold out much longer. After she finally talked him into taking her on her first date, things progress quickly from there. But as all Roman brothers stories have gone, there's some major problems that arise that'll change things quickly. Saving her a second time may cost him his life, but it is so worth it. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see if he was going to make it. Through many tears, both sad and happy, I'm recommending this book to everyone, you don't have to read the first two books to know what's happening, but they're definitely worth the read as well if you haven't already. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC of the book.
I absolutely loved this book!!!!! Walker's an ex-Seal who's haunted by all the death he saw in the Navy as well as the death of his fiancée Jenny & because of her he won't allow himself to fall in love again & this causes a rift between him & his father, the Colonel. That's until he goes to a bachelor party at strip club one for one of his Seal buddies. There he meets Ashleigh who makes him forget things he never thought possible. Ashleigh's a waitress at the strip club who's been "owned" by the Russian mafia since she was 16 & her parents died. All the money she makes goes towards her "debt" that she "owes" mafia & she's got no place to stay. Walker's feelings towards her urges him to rescue her & he takes her to his house to keep her safe. He asks her to be his fake fiancé to keep his brothers & the Colonel off his case about getting married & she agrees but they both develop deeper feelings towards each other. This is such a great story line & the characters are very well written.
This is Walker and Ashleigh’s story. Walker is the last of the Roman brothers to find a wife, and his father is on his case about this. When Walker and his brothers go to a stag night in a strip club, he see’s Doll for the first time, and is instantly attracted to her. Ashleigh / Doll, has had a rough life, and is being forced to work in order to pay off her parents drug debts. Both of these characters have heartbreaking stories, but can they find each other, and heal their broken souls? You really need to read this for yourself to find out! This is a well written storyline, and as always Vivian had me hooked and captivated throughout, and she certainly never disappoints with any of her work. I am a huge fan of this author, and I recommend her work for all.
Walker and Ashleigh have demons that haunt them. When he tries to save her from danger, he gets more than he bargained for.
I liked that the author did not rush their relationship. You see it develop over time as they learn more about each other and understand how much pain they share. There is a lot of action in the story too and plenty of surprises..
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I really enjoy Ms Wood's whether written with other authors such as Willow Winters or on her own as this one was. I really liked Walker and Ashleigh were two people with secrets and troubled pasts. They meet at a strip club. Walker is there with friends and Ashleigh is a waitress. he comes to her rescue. They both know the other is hiding something, yet they can't deny their feelings. This story was great it was about coming together ans accepting each other for who they are as well as overcoming everything that has happened in the past and finding happiness with one another. This was a great read. Full of drama, suspense and a lot of hope. As well as a happy ending.
Walker Roman- the hardcore stoic Navy SEAL, dealing with his demons from the past and present, Doll a.k.a Ashleigh waitress at a strip club in New Orleans has a history that could make your head spin. The two come together when Walker comes to her rescue. Now they devise a plan to help each other out. Can they keep up the charade? Will their feelings change? I absolutely loved this book! So much detail packed into this sexy had me swooning-emotionally charged story I could not put it down! Walker is now ranking up in my top 10 of BBF! I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book
Walker is a retired Navy Seal reluctantly joining a small group of his buddies at a strip club in New Orleans to celebrate a bachelor party for his friend. Unexpectedly, he ends up rescuing a stripper/waitress and complicates his troubled emotions and life. Ashleigh has secrets and demons that imprison her in a world of darkness, fear and hopelessness. Walker has his own darkness of regrets. It's an exciting drama of personal challenges, family dynamics and overcoming dangerous threats. Well crafted, holds one's interest and entertains the heart with romance. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.
I think this was my favorite of the 3 brothers' stories! But I seem to like those strong silent types like Walker, helps that he didn't seem like a man-whore either. Walker & Ashleigh are perfect together. I like how she got him to open up to her, where he wouldn't with anyone else. I also love how he accepted all of her inspite of her past. Glad for their HEA. The story flowed smoothly, there were a few places that I felt left me with questions. But over all a great read.
Review for SEAL’S TOUCH This is truly a Cinderella story come to life. Walker Roman is a hero. He just comes in and saves Ashleigh time and time again. What starts out as a way to get everyone off his back about settling down, turns out to be the best thing in his life. Ashleigh too comes out of her shell and starts to believe that she is a good person capable of being loved, and loving in return. All of this comes with danger and misunderstandings but it works out.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.
Walker & Ashleigh click the minute they meet. He saves her from a life of abuse, and she rescues him from a life of loneliness, guilt & regrets.
This is a sweet story. It reinforces the idea that true love doesn’t really care who you are, where you’re from or who you’ve been – it forgives and accepts all.
Really enjoyed this book Couldn't put it down.I really enjoyed Walker's and Ashleigh's story, I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy. A Must Read
This book is a beautiful story that will warm your heart. Ashleigh and Walker's story made my heart smile. They both went through tragedy and came out on top with each other.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A fast paced page turner, with a strong alpha male, and plenty of action, drama, suspense hope and great chemistry between Walker and Ashleigh. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This my favorite of the Roman brothers' stories, but I still love the book.
We get to see the Roman brotherly love in full effect again. Walter has always been quiet and reserved, except when he helps his brothers and their families. With Walter struggling with his demons, his brothers finally convince him to let them in and help him for a change. Also, we see members from Walter's Team. They show him that even though he's not going in the line of fire with them anymore, he's still the or friend and brother, and they'll always have his back.
Ashleigh doesn't know what the real meaning of family of unconditional love and family. Meeting Walter gives her the shock of her life because he's wants nothing from her except to be safe and happy. Meeting the Romans and Rivers clan shows her there a such thing as family, a such thing a genuine, caring people, a such thing as two people being undeniably in love. She wants it for herself, with Walter. The problem is she doesn't know if her past is going to come calling and she has to find a way to break down Walter's walls.
Love, Loyalty, and Family sums up the Roman Family and their stories. I love the series and definitely recommend it.
After declaring to never fall in love again, Walker Roman is determined to go against what his father wishes. Ashleigh grew up with abusive parents and then was sold to an abusive man. One look at Ashleigh aka Doll and Walker starts to change his tune. After rescuing and bringing her home with him, will Walker be able to keep his feelings in check? Will Ashleigh ever really be freed from her past?
I have loved all the Roman brothers, but Walker pulled at my heart strings. You have this big strong man who might seem unbreakable, but in my opinion was really a total softy. He went out of his way to protect her time and again and was willing to admit to her when his feelings had changed. I loved watching Ashleigh bloom under his attention and he went to bat for her against everyone who dared even look at her wrong! Great book and cannot wait to see what the author comes up with next!

I received SEAL's Touch as a review copy and this is my freely given review. SEAL's Touch is Warren Roman's story. He's the middle son of the Roman family. He served as a SEAL and is now working on the family ranch as well as a Navy recruiter. He has suffered loss and has no plans to revisit love again no matter how much his father badgers him. Out celebrating with friends at a Louisiana strip club he meets Doll aka Ashleigh Walsh. This damsel in distress brings out protective feelings that Warren thought were long buried. He thinks that they help each other out by pretending to be engaged. Just a simple business arrangement. No hearts and flowers for him, right?! Ashleigh has suffered more than most young women and Warren needs to be careful with her tender heart. These two both deserve love and acceptance. In SEAL's Touch they hopefully will find it.
We finally get Walker's story and his HEA. He is the oldest of the Roman brothers and is getting pressured to marry from his family. When a night out with a bunch of guys for a bachelor party he meets Ashleigh, the waitress at the strip club. When he saves her from the bouncer he comes up with a plan...he needs a fiancée and she needs somewhere safe, away from the Russian mob. When she tells him her life story the plan comes together but soon it's more than that and actual feelings develop. Walker is still feeling guilty over the death of his fiancée 5 years ago but there is more to the story that he never told anyone. With Ash he starts to open up and is actually happy and they start planning their fake wedding to keep his dad off of his back. When a night of bachelor and bachelorette parties her past is revealed to all when they bump into the Russians. Will he be able to finally free her, will the family accept who she really is? You have to read and find out. I loved every page of this story, the anticipation, the buildup, the attraction between the two is sizzling and there is nothing better than a fiercely, protective, hot alpha military man that is also full of compassion and sincerity.....SWOOOOOON. Also the story and writing was amazing, it was more of their relationship than someone wanting to tear them apart, learning and trusting each other, building each other up to give both of them confidence, closure and finally love. You don't want to miss Walker's story and may get a bit misty eyed at the end...you won't be disappointed. *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
Have waited a while for the final Roman brother to get his HEA. Walker has always been the quiet one with something in his background that hurt him. We know he was engaged before but now we find out more facts that explain his behaviour. Loved his idea to help them both out, Walker from his family’s matchmaking and Ashleigh from a horrible fate. Ashleigh really had been abused and mistreated by her drug addict parents and my heart bleed for what she had gone through. She must have been a strong character to still function as a human being after the way she had had to live. Surviving does not always mean keeping your humanity. Glad Walker told his brothers the truth about Jennifer but he never gave Ashleigh that honesty. It might have helped her. Really enjoyed this story but would have liked a bit more romance to go with the sex, some cuddling in front of the tv or something to show they were getting to know each other. Still dislike the Colonel but loved the bad guys getting theirs. Their personal vows at the end made me teary. I wonder if Shelby will get her own HEA, maybe with one of Walkers seal buddies but I was not sure what that interaction at the fair was about. Seemed out of character for Shelby to act like that. Has the bonus of having COVET in this book as well. Two books for one. I have a separate review for Covet. This is my honest review of this book.
Ashleigh and Walker - two people who were never meant to meet, but when it happens all rational thoughts go out the window. Walker is still focused on the fiance who died before they could seal their union. Ashleigh has had zero happiness in her life and has fallen victim to the Russian mob as one of "their girls." When they meet in a bar, he's captivated by her and when takes her from that environment to his ranch, he learns what love.is and she learns what it means to have a family. This is the last book of the trilogy and is definitely the best one. Wood has out done herself with the Roman brothers.
So unrealistic. Walker should’ve had a better story.
And maybe this one should’ve been titled Seal’s Bride, would have been way more fitting.
Walker and Ashleigh meet and less than 24 hours later he’s taken her home with him and given her license to redecorate his house and order what ever furniture she wants using his money. Seriously!?
The plan is stupid. To be engaged to get your family off your back, so lame.
Ashleigh being able to escape the Russian bratva or whatever they were so easily was also lame.
I liked the idea in theory but the execution of this one was not great at all.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Well if you loved reading about Sawyer and Colt, this one about Walker is equally brilliant. It made me tear up a few times. Walker Roman is so caring and loving but has had a traumatic time in his past relationship. Rescuing Ashleigh from Russian thugs, he know ps he will have to keep her safe. Ashleigh has had a bad time growing up so meeting Walker is like a lifeline. Two people with tortured souls who are just what the other needed. A fantastic read and will miss all the family
This is a great story. Walker is the middle son but last to find an everlasting love. He was with his group of buddies, at a bachelor party at a strip joint when his buddies got into a tussle with the bouncer and they were all thrown out. His friends teased him about the waitress so he went back to give her a number when he came across the bouncer beating the waitress by the dumpster. Well, you know Walker is not one to allow a woman to be hurt so he steps in. The rest of the story includes Russians, his dad, and a wedding. Good times.
