Best thing about this book... the Hero is a virgin. Such a refreshing thing to read about since that's hardly ever the case in romance books!
But honestly, besides the virgin status of the Hero & the sweet relationship he had with the heroine after their true feelings were revealed... the book wasn't much of a barnburner for me. It just wasn't all that exciting or unputdownable. I found myself wanting to skim it, rather than read it word for word.
And don't get me started on the creepy guy from the Champagne room. WTF was his part in the story all about? I just didn't get that. At. All.
Not totally bummed (since I picked it up as a freebie) but I probably wouldn't recommend it to my other bookworm buddies.

Kane
This book was refreshing to me. Its nice to read about male virgins. Kane was definitely protective, and very delicious. Gem is running from her past, but Kane Will save the day.

***Spoilers Ahead ******This book had so, much promise but unfortunately didnt deliver and left more question a than answers. Who was the guy in the champagne room? He obviously was a big part of the heroine getting her hea but he basically creeped her out than blew her exs car up! She'd spent so long running from her ex but someone blew him up with no explanation? I loved that she was a single mum who would do anything for her son and he was a virgin but the story could have been so much better!

Kane Kane Kane! Loved everything about him. His genital toughness with Gem and Noah. His respect for Rosa and the club girls. His backstory was sad but his determination to heal and protect melted my heart. Gem had it rough but was making it the best way she could. I really liked how she opened up to Kane. The sexy times were exploited but not over the top. They also did not dominate the story which was very refreshing. Definitely interested in reading about the rest of the Sapphire crew.

Spousal abuse
WOW! Kudos to Penn for creating a believable, heart wrenching story around such a tough subject of spousal abuse. It really does affect all those around the couple, not just the one being abused. It's not limited to Drug Lord's or Mafia Kings either. Gem and Kane along with Noah and Rosita are lucky to be survivors. Scars?? Yes. But they were lucky to have a happy ever after. Some steamy intimacy scenes, no cheating and the quality of writing was really good. Enjoy

Quite enjoyable
İts quite enjoyable read. Not sure if i ever read the author other books since Penn Rivers is the pen name.
Too much on the charachters self talk. Need more on the action.
Good enough background on why Kane was a Virgin and why Gem is on the run.
But not enough deep feels to make my gut clench hard on those background.
The sexy time are good. Sexy and steamy. Way to go for a Virgin!

Unusual Characters
This was an unexpected gem. The story plot was interesting but the characters were different and unusual. The writing was hot without being crude and while there were steamy sex scenes, they did not dominate the story. I will be watching for more from this author.

I didn't know what to expect when I started this book, but I have to say I really liked it. Two people trying to make their way in the world after being served a bitter dish in life, that left them broken, each in their own way. I really liked the chemistry between the two as well as the side characters, that really brighten up the story as well.

The premise sounded so promising, but I feel the book tried to jam in too much in a sub-300 pager, such that it felt rushed and somber plot points breezed through. I also couldn't suspend belief sufficiently to believe a virgin was so skilled without any explanation as to where he'd learned such skills.

This wasn't the typical "stripper" story. The hero, Kanaan, is such a wonderful man, with a big heart. He takes special interest in one of the strippers, Gemma. Gemma is a single mother trying her best to escape from her past, but danger catches up with her and her son. Kanaan is determined to make sure no one ever hurts Gemma again. He also decides, she is the woman to take his virginity.

Entertaining and HOT
The story is good. I wish there would have been more suspense and didn't wrap up so quickly. An alpha male virgin. Who knew?

Beautifully Written
This book will leave you with all the feels. You will laugh, have your heartstrings pulled, and never know what's coming around the corner. The character development was amazing and lovingly written, with a plot that flowed together so perfectly. Like no other romance, with naughty bits thrown in! I absolutely loved it!!! It will leave you wanting more and being complete at the same time. This is definitely a five star read with a cherry on top!

OMG! I am blown away. This is an incredible read!
I purchased this book because it sounded like it might be a fairly good story. Boy, was I shocked. It was incredible! I felt a connection to the characters from the very begining. The story was well written. The characters were believable. Who hasn't made a decision they regretted? Gemma could have been me. I sure hope this author is planning on writing some more books, because I'll be anxiously waiting to pick them up. Great read. Give it a try.

We all need a Kane to protect us!
Great story and couldn't put it down but I felt like the story ended a little quickly. I also don't understand how 'Gemma' was willing to trust the mystery man towards the end when he'd made her feel unsafe earlier and she'd spent so long hiding etc. I'm left wanting to know who he is and why he gave Rafe such an explosive ending - I hate being left with unanswered questions

This a great book! It grabbed me from the start. It was hot,sexy,deep,funny and have you sitting on the edge of your set wanting to know happens next. I can't wait for the next one. This athour knew how to make the characters real for me.

One word to describe this book and author, excellent. Don't be misled by the word stripped. This book has many different elements. A true love story about two damaged individuals. The meaning of family that encompasses not only blood relatives but a family of friends that are themselves facing pasts. An abusive husband, a cartel and the hold your breath ending as it all comes together ❤ in the end.

Wow.. what a brilliant book. Loved the story and the charachters and just could not put it down.
