New York State Trooper Josh Burdette hasn’t had the best of luck with the ladies. The last woman he was sleeping with tried to kill him. So, when sexy Delaney Mervis shows up, batting her baby blues, he’s cautious…but not cautious enough. Josh is suspicious that Delaney could have been sent by an arms dealer who vowed to make Josh pay for the death of his wife and two children in an undercover operation that went bad. While having a buddy do some digging on Delaney, Josh succumbs to his desire and sleeps with her only to find her sole motivation was to destroy his career…her reasoning was to save her brother who is being held hostage by a man with grey eyes who is threatening to kill her brother if she doesn't what she's told…or so she thinks. Josh and Delaney are forced to run when the arms dealer's men come to kill them both. While in hiding, their passion grows deep and they find themselves unable to fight their feelings for one another. But the arms dealer will stop at nothing to destroy Josh, leaving Delaney to choose between the man she loves and a brother she never really knew.

Josh and Delaney have more in common than they could ever imagine in "Deadly Seduction" by Jen Talty, the sixth book in the NY State Trooper Series. Josh Burdette is a state trooper working in Lake George. His father was a police officer who died in the line of duty before he was born. His late mother would spend hours telling Josh stories about his father so he could understand what a wonderful person he was. Josh transferred to his current assignment because his life had been threatened while working in NYC. Delaney Mervis lives in NYC and is a budding writer who works at a publishing house. She receives a visit from "Gray Eyes"( as she calls him), who shows her a video of her brother, Liam, tied up and beaten. She will do anything to save him. Liam's captors send her to Lake George to seduce Josh in order to ruin his reputation. Josh worked undercover for a year within the same organization that now has Delaney's brother, whose leader is seeking revenge on him. Josh notices Delaney staring at him while she was having dinner and wonders if she has been sent to kill him, but he couldn't resist her charm . She fascinated him and he had to find out the truth. Can Josh and Delaney work together to save her brother, or will they realize that they are the ones who are truly in danger? I love a story that combines romance and mystery and Jen delivers another winner in "Deadly Seduction." I am excited to read the next book in the series, "When a Stranger Calls."
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
*****I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Review Copy of this book****** The author continues to knock em out of the ballpark with this series, the story gets better and better with each storyline. I always look forward to read a book from the New York State Trooper series.
Josh Burnett had worked in the special crime unit in the Bronx during undercover operations. He had taken down a notorious mobster, Alexander Craypo but was delivered a threat afterward. The ordeals led to him requesting to be assigned and transfer to Lake George, NY but never dropping his guard regarding Craypos threat. He suspected the beautiful lady he met was a set-up from Craypo. Who is the mysterious Delaney Mervis? What connection does she have with the mafia? Why is Craypo using her to get to him?
Delaney Mervis is a copy editor for a publishing house and lived a quiet life in Brooklyn after the death of her parents. She was persuaded to go to the small village of Lake George, NY to do the unthinkable for the sake of her only living family, her brother Liam. Is it possible for her to go through with the plan? Can she seduce her target? Who can she trust with her secrets?
This story is full of suspense, angst and deception but I loved reading about the Troopers family and their turmoil. It's definitely a must read.
A must read for anyone "dating" - ignorance is not bliss, you need to know. Suspense, murder and romance packs a punch in this story!
Josh a police officer survived his undercover mission but barely & with lots of scars. He also has a bounty on his head. Delaney definitely the saying ignorance is bliss proves ignorance can be deadly & everyone should look for those signs/flags. The flags earn us to not take the leap of faith book being but knowing as many risk as we can The twist & turns for this plot will definitely have you on your toes. To get two people to trust after their betrayal is outstanding. Romance of soul mate brings this story to the next level. I have to say I am addicted to this series it has a lot in a small book. I don't normal bring up negatives but this out of all the books didn't have the best editing & I know for some that can be a real breaker, I don't think you should not read it because of that because it is a terrific book. If it is a real breaker then read one from the series, the stories & characters are addicting!

What an exciting suspense romance! Josh and Delaney's relationship starts in an unorthodox way. She thinks she's helping save her brother Liam by tricking Josh into making a sex tape. Josh, who has been overly cautious with women since the games and betrayal of Nicki, knows to keep his eyes wide open with Delaney. There are too many coincidences. Little due they know that the deceit goes far and wide and Josh and Delaney are in the middle.
This is a fast paced, heart-pumping ride. You get caught up in the drama of whether or not Delaney will deceive Josh, will Josh ever be able to stop looking over his shoulder for the bad guys looking for revenge and will Delaney and Josh get past the hurts and have a HEA?
An excellent read! I highly recommend it especially if you like danger and life and death situations with steamy intimacy.
Delaney is in a panic. Her brother is held captive as leverage to force her to seek out and seduce a State Trooper, Josh. She is to tape their sexual encounter or her brother will be killed. Josh is attracted to the beautiful blonde but he is cautious ever since one woman betrayed him not long ago. Delaney is out of her comfort zone. She doesn't want to betray Josh but fears for her brother's life. Suspense runs throughout this story keeping one hooked from the beginning. There is a shocking revelation that personally devastated Delaney and caught this reader off guard. The mystery and tension only increases to the final climatic battle. So exciting and the writing makes it seem like a movie in vivid color. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five Stars Plus.
I really enjoyed this book. There are so many devious twists in this story. I particularly liked that the author was always one step ahead of me and I was never able to accurately guess what was going to happen next. It’s going to sound slightly cruel, but there’s something a little Mr. Bean goes Bond about Delaney ‘s seduction of Josh. The poor woman is the least likely femme fatale. I also felt kind of sorry for Delaney when her sunny optimism ran face first into reality, and she discovered that nothing and no one is what she thought. I was so impressed with the growth in her character by the end.
I love this series! Every book has been fantastic, this one included. They are romantic suspense with one or both of the main characters finding themselves in danger. I loved Delaney and Josh and rooted for them to make it past Delaney's deception. This is fast paced with twists and turns. I definitely recommend. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
This was a great HEA read with well developed characters and a great story line, there were some good twists you never expected that left you blind sided and needing to know more. I really enjoyed the struggle both Josh and Delaney went through as more unfolded as it made you connect so much more with them. It has got me hooked on the series now!

Delaney needs to seduce Josh so she can save her brother from killers. The person masterminding the operation is an enemy of Josh's and he wants him killed and discredited as a police officer. The story is good, suspenseful with some romance. Delaney is really naïve, but toughens up at the end and takes control of her life and her situation that she has been placed into. There are a lot of editing issues. I voluntarily reviewed this book.
I received this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. Delaney has to seduce New York State Trooper, Josh, and get it on video in 3 days or they will kill her brother and then her. Josh sent a crime boss to prison and he has been out a month. He wants revenge on Josh for the murder of his wife and 2 children even though it was his own bomb that killed them. I would have given this a higher rating but this book needs some serious editing.
Delaney had been forced to go to Lake George to try and seduce Josh. Greg eyes had told her that they would kill her brother if she didn't get a tape of her in bed with Josh. She did go to with bed with him and it was wonderful. As she was waiting for Josh 2 men grabbed her best her. He managed to get her away and she told hi.everything.
This is the sixth book in the New York State Trooper Series. The series just keeps getting better and better. Lots of drama and suspense in this one, sure to keep you page turning. Well written with a strong plot and engaging characters. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This was a decent story with good characters. What let it down was the amount of grammatical errors and mistakes. Ironic that the female lead in this book is a copy editor and aspiring author.
This is my least favourite of the series, I found the plot a little far fetched and Delaney is the oddest character ever....her past and the present story line contradict each other massively and she is either very naive or totally blind, not an easy character to like or relate to. Josh is a great character, although once again I question that his words and actions contradict each other on multiple occasions. There are also a number of typos, if I had bought this book I would have been unhappy, but I read this on Kindle Unlimited, as part of the NY State Troopers boxset.
Josh is all about right and wrong. Delaney will do anything for family. You can't help but become emotionally invested in them. Such a great book. Highly recommend to all.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. It's amazing. The main-characters do indeed start a little plain and simple but they really do develop during the story. The writing style is easy to keep up and the story itself is an interesting one too.
