I've read this book, which is about the basic principles of Economics, for university. I would totally recommend it if you want to learn more about economics (focused on organizations). I enjoyed reading it, which is certainly not the case with all academic books..., because it is well-written, easy to read and contains concise and current examples. Although this book is accessible for readers without knowledge about economics, don't assume that this book is superficial or easy, because that's not the case. In high school, I've had three years of economics and three years of management & organization, but this book went way deeper and broader than I've learned before. See it like this: this book guides everyone, regardless of your prior knowledge, from the emergence of economics (with questions like: why do firms exist?) to the deeper and broader level of economics. In this book that includes themes like: transaction costs theory, behaviour theory of the firm, game theory, agency theory, corporate and competitive strategy and evolutionary theory.
This textbook is a good and broad introduction for new economics students. It teaches all the basics and introduces some great examples thus relating the theory to practice which helps with remembering and learning its contents.
