One tattoo shop, two people: She wants to party, he's running for his life.
Hunted by a banshee, Irish is desperate to get another magic tattoo to ward off death. What he doesn't know is that sexy, sassy Lorena is all the protection he needs.
This is a short erotic paranormal of approximately 6,000 words. Initially released in a print anthology in 2007.
Michelle McCleod saw her first ghost at the age of 4 and has been running scared ever since. She also stole a rock from a real vampire who is probably still looking for her. On top of that, any psychic tendencies she has are dyslexic. Basically, the safest thing for her to do is stay indoors and write what she knows:Paranormal. Readers can find her online at: http://michellemccleod.blogspot.com/ and on Twitter at @MichelleMcCleod.
Ok this is exceedingly short hence my low rating but don't let that put you off . This is seemingly a simple idea of Irish a man whose family are cursed but the author adds a young Latino woman Lorena to the mix who is very good at thinking on her feet. I really enjoyed the Miami setting ( such a blessed relief after so many books set in New Orleans ) and I know it's really just a lunchtime read but I found it very easy to fall into. My only real grouch is I didn't fall particularly for the hero . Maybe I've just been reading about too many alpha types recently but for this reader he just lacked a little something. Still with a little ingenuity at least there was a happy ending.
Purch Amazon Nov. 15, 2016 Banshee's Tattoo by Michelle Fox (Goodreads Author) Adult Erotic Fantasy Romance Suspense Short 3.5 TSR I would have loved this story if it had been a full length novel! From the way Irish and Lorena meet to the very end is filled with mystery and suspense. It's like a mystical explosion. The intensity is off the charts. Unfortunately it is only about 20 pages long. I only found 1 typo at the very beginning. This would have made a great series. July 25, 2017 – Finished Reading July 25, 2017 – Started Reading 1 Note & Highlight (1 out of 1 visible)
Honestly I was worried when I saw it was only 20 pages, thinking it couldn’t be much of a read but I was pleasantly surprised with how fast paced this was while still being interesting. Absolutely loved it. 10/10 would recommend
Sexy, and full of fire latina Lorena meets Irish at the tattoo parlor and heat asaults her as their eyes meet from the tattoo tables they are on.
She thinks he's a tad loco since he claims to be getting another tat to ward off some evil that's stalking him. There's a hurricane about to hit Miami and Lorena and Irish are in the middle of it. Will they be able to withstand the storm that's coming?
This was a very short book, but it was free on Amazon and it is a really good introduction to the author's writing if you have not read her before. For a short read there was a lot happening. It was almost like fate stepping in and saying, nope, this has got to stop. And fate provided a pretty cool heroine to provide some kick butt. This was an enjoyable read.
More a short story than novella, this quick, steamy read features an tattooed Irishman fleeing a banshee and the hook-up who helps him. Definitely insta-love with minimal character development that is mostly a stage for a seriously steamy hook-up. The hero and heroine don't go their separate ways at the end, so it counts as an HEA.
Banshee's Tattoo by Michelle Fox is a short story paranormal romance. In this story we are introduced to Lorena and a man who goes by the nickname Irish. Irish has been on the run all his life from a Banshee that hunts the men in his family because of a cursed ancestor. When he and Lorena meet it is in a tattoo shop but they cross paths again after she leaves a club. Will Lorena be able to help him or will she be his final good bye? This is the first book that I have read by Michelle Fox and I really enjoyed reading it. The story is fast paced and quick to bring in the banshee element in a good way that is subtle but let's you know that this is what it is. The story is very short but it's well written regardless. There are few to no errors to detract from the enjoyability of story. The characters are well done and the story is written in first person. I really enjoyed this story and will be checking out more works in the very near future. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Well done and very enjoyable.
I really cannot say that I've read any other stories about Banshees, so I found this book to be really interesting. If this hadn't been a free novel and if I didn't already enjoy Michelle's other stories, I would probably have never read it, but I do think this is a very enjoyable story. Like with most of her other stories, I just wish they were longer. She has great ideas and it still surprises me how many great ideas she has and how she makes each story unique with different aspects and characters. And I love stories with kick-ass heroines, so I can't wait to read more of her books with them.
OK, I was in the mood for something quick and Irish...and maybe a little supernatural. This quick short story fit the bill quite nicely. It was a hot sexy tale about a hot sexy Irishman that had a little problem heretofore handled by "magic" tattoos and getting the "hey" out of the way. Well during a wailing hurricane and other wailing things he meets a cute Latina princess who has a different solution to all his problems. The story is short hot and sweet and for me a lovely St. Patrick's Day treat!
Sometimes I get lucky when picking up free shorts on my Kindle, this was one of those times.
This is a really short, but a few writers know how to write good shorts, and this author is one of them. She was able to build four full and intriguing characters in these few pages, and to build an interesting story with both romance, action and science.
The writing was also rather good. I quickly got a voice for the dofferent characters, and the descriptions were good. May take a look if she has some other freebees lying around
Well she said it was a short story and it was. It got to the point. It gave me a little romance, a little supernatural element and excitement. No, it wasn't extremely detailed, but that is reserved for a full-length. This is a good read for the rush hour commute, that rainy lunch hour at work or if you're like me and find yourself grabbing your kindle at 2am because you can't sleep.
A great fast short that shows sometimes it does end in a happy ever after. You just gotta trust. Ms. Fox always draws forward a wonderful full story of characters that live and breathes life in the story. That world building g ability is a gift few have and her books capture the adventures everyone craves.
This is a very inventive and well written story. In fact, the only flaw that impacted me was the one without which this genre would probably not exist; the fantasy that instant attraction leads reasonably to sexual involvement which yields consistently meaningful relationships.
This was a big MEH for me. A girl meets a guy in a tattoo parlor. Guy is being hunted by a vindictive banshee. Girl figures out how to get rid of banshee for literally no reason at all.
Could have been an interesting story if there was anything to it...but...well...meh.
I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read. I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not. If you choose to read, enjoy!
