A gripping who-done-it. The protagonist is not the cliché broken character of so many cynical writers. She has had her problems and carries some understandable baggage, but at hear is still strong and finds healing and courage in her faith. All of the main characters are engaging. They feel like people I would like to know and hang out with, so when they are in danger I feel their anxiety as i would for a friend.
The author has created an interesting world that is a mix of the old west and the twenty-first century. The mystery builds to an unexpected twist, then takes another turn to the climax. All in all fun and exciting read. I’ll be checking out the other books in the series.
