This was another good informational story that highlights the details of a dolphin throughout their life. This book has a lot of words on each page and uses some big vocabulary words, so I would have this in an upper elementary classroom. This would be a good reference book when talking about ocean animals or specifically dolphins. This was a great informational book because it explains everything you need to know about dolphins.

Dolphins is written by Elizabeth Allen. It is part of the Scholastic for Kids Collection but more specifically the World Discovery Science Readers Collection. It is an informational beginning level chapter book that would be good for second-third graders. The book contains 3 chapters involving 3 different categories about Dolphins. The book is very factual and has outstanding real life pictures of all different kinds of dolphins. There are many facts listed throughout the book that involve new vocabulary and terms. Allen’s writing style takes the book from a boring list of information to an eye-popping catchy story about dolphins. The book also contains a glossary and index.
