More Than Just His Mistress by M. Skye is an urban love story. It elicits so many emotions as you dive into the lives of Elizabeth “Liz” and Cedric Harvey. *****
What happens when you go from the main chick to mistress status? Elizabeth Pearson found herself submerged in these reversed roles; after fifteen years of marriage and one year of divorce, Cedric Harvey delivered the devastating news that he was now married to the woman he cheated on Liz with, Felicia. Feeling distraught, Liz unleashed all the rage she felt for Cedric. They ended up in the one place they never had problems, the bedroom.
After their sexual rendezvous, Cedric noticed the fire and desire that Liz emitted; wondering what had gotten into the woman he used to know. This new side of her had him intrigued, entranced, and full of jealousy. Although married, Cedric couldn’t stay away from her, even though he tried. During their affair, Cedric realized that he had everything he wanted in Liz, but his cheating ways cost him the love of his life. He vowed to make Liz his main chick again, but one little thing was standing in their way, his marriage to Felicia. Will Felicia accept that Cedric wants to return to Liz, or will she fight for her young marriage?
Liz started out with revenge on the agenda, but what happens when the games turn into more than just revenge? When Liz realizes that she still has strong feelings for Cedric their situation turns into a case of emotional warfare. Liz thinks Cedric is the love of her life but is he? Can she fully trust Cedric after all the lies that he told her before, or is there someone lurking in the background that knows her true value? Liz is confident in her relationship with Cedric this time, but, is it forever the second time around?
Lies revealed. Secrets uncovered. Relationships tested. Will a happy ending be in sight for anyone? Or will the second time around be just as catastrophic as the first?
Monica what can I say about this here story. I was almost siding with Cedric when try to win back Liz. Do to his ultimate betrayal and realizing what he had at home is all he needed. Liz play at all stop to show and hurt Cedric on how he will miss out and see what he left for the next women instead of talking. But was it all worth it and did she still love him once the clouded vision come to her surface. Brian was the men of her dream if she only knew the dark secret he held all these years. Ethan why Ethan ( Monica) had me hot u took him out. Now Liz has baby girl Alanah and she expected is wonderful along as she is with Brian now. So touching and a break through with family issues happy they made up before the unexpected happen to Ethan. Felicia at the end of the story is still bitter and crazy and how Cedric for once protected Liz from the crazy girl will it be apart 2. Outstanding Monica
True love always wins in the end. It took Liz going through all kinds of heartache and pain to realize that true love was there all the time and that Cedric wasn't it. This storyline was full of twists and turns, lies and deceit. And the sex scenes were off the chain. They had me fanning myself because they were so hot. I kinda felt sorry for Cedric in the end. But that's what happens when karma pays you a visit. I did not expect things to turn out the way it did. I'm so happy for Liz and Brian.
This well-written piece has my HEART singing a great tune of joy..... The steady flow was liquid I don't think I took a good breath....The growth of Elizabeth's character what I think to me that actually experience this form of heartbreak before I applaud this AUTHOR'S DETAIL.... The anger, the self doubt ... Uncertainty over that this was authentic.... Well executed....I felt a pang of pitty for Ethan he was one of my favorite CHARACTERS also ...WHAT A GREAT SIBLING BOND ......Cedric I just couldn't hate him he made a lot of mistakes but it's sad he was pretending to be someone else just sad...I believed he loved Elizabeth but he made his bed......BRIAN THE LOVE OF HER LIFE I SAW THAT THOUGH OUT THE BOOK....ALVIN AND FELICIA BYE GOOD RIDDENS ....LIZ BOSSED UP ...EVEN THE PARENTS SCENE HAD ME CRYING REAL TEARS ...THE REDEMPTION OF THE PARENTS....YASSSSSS ....EXCELLENCE IS A GIFTED MIND THA ALWAYS ENTERTAIN ME....I LOVED IT
I loved this book. I was in shock after the first 5 minutes into reading all the way to the end. This story was told beautifully. I felt like I knew all the characters. The storyline was different but the topics were still the same. I'm glad this book is a standalone. I want to read it again just in case I missed something
This book felt like a standalone with so much detail and background given that adds to the drama. Speaking of drama, the twists and turns in the book were very delicious. Cedric just didn't want to have his cake and eat it; he wanted to have the whole convenient store with cake, cookies, chips, pickles, and everything else. Liz was vulnerable and hurt in the beginning, but then, she found her strength. She picked herself up, revitalized herself, and got herself together. She wanted revenge, but revenge had a wait of doing a sneak attack back on her. However, she finally woke up to the truth. Once it all was revealed, she found love that she recently discovered was always there. Liz learned that everything that her marriage to Cedric wasn't always what they appeared to be. I love the connection Liz had with her twin Ethan, and I hated the situation regarding their family and him. This book had me feeling like Vivian Green and put me on an emotional roller-coaster. The characters were great, the drama was perfect, and the plot was good. Everything was brought to full circle, so that I could get a complete picture. As I read this book, Silk's song "What Kind of Love Is This" played all through my mind. I would hate to be in Liz's position, going from main to the side then back to main. I just rather be main without anything extra. This was a good story, and I highly recommend to others.
The author did an excellent job of portraying this story from both Liz and Cedric's perspectives all while adding in some twists and turns. Cedric was a very selfish person who wanted his cake and to eat it too. I couldn't stand him. But then for one moment i felt that maybe he did change. But I think that Liz made the right decision and Cedric got everything that he deserved. I loved Brian from the start and he and Liz will have an amazing life. I just hate that Ethan couldn't be there with his family. He was a great guy.
Found this to be an interesting read. Lots of secrets, lies along with twists and turns. A few surprises as well. I honestly believe that Cedric loved Liz, he was just too sneaky and a liar. I had a feeling that Brian was in love with her, and that's why he broke the friendship he had with Cedric. After all that she had been through, I'm happy that she found love in the end.
I love this book from beginning to end!!! Authoress Skye truly put her heart and soul into this one. It was as if she has gone through all the drama Liz has experienced and expresses it here. This book takes you through a range of emotions, from shocked to angry, to pissed off, and then sadness. It even drives you to tears. But in the end, it makes you happy and your heart feel good. Kudos to the author!!!
I REALLY LIKE THIS BOOK. DUE TO THE WAY LIZ AND ETHAN WERE SO CLOSE. IT WAS ALSO THE WAY BRIAN AN LIZ WERE SO CLOSE I FELT THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FROM THE BEGINNING. I WAS KINDA HURT BECAUSE ETHAN NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO TELL LIZ ABOUT HIS WIFE AN DAUGHTER
Wow!!! I absolutely loved this book. It was very entertaining and relatable to real life. The characters were so full of life and whew I just loved me some Brian. I also loved how Liz's brother, Ethan kept it real and solid with her. Loved their relationship. This was my first read by you, M. Skye, but best believe it won't be my last. Great read and I recommend it to all.
This was one of the best I've read. M. Skye you are a beast, each character was bought to life. Once I started reading I couldn't stop, each page had me hungry for more. Excellent
This was a really good read. Entertaining and engrossing from beginning to end. Parts of it felt a little rushed but will hopefully be explored further in the sequel. With an ending like that, there has to be a sequel!
This book was nowhere near what I expected; it was so much more. What an excellent spin on the side chick theme. It also told of a woman scorned. Great read.
This book was ok I just felt like a lot of the parts were boring and it took a long time to build up to the ending I only kept reading it because I already started it
This was an awesome read. When I saw Skye showed out in this read and the ending was a shocker OMG it was a shocker I didn't see that coming at all. I will definitely read this author again. The characters were fully developed and this story didn't lack anything at all.
I can't begin to describe how good this book was! So many twists and turns and I loves it. I think Cedric loved Liz in his own sick way but it just wasn't what Liz deserved. I need part 2 so Felicia and Alvin get another does of karma. They're sick and delusional! Great job as my emotions was everywhere reading this book!
Tht Cedric was something else he wanted to hve his cake and eat it to but wut goes around comes around .... loved Liz she was savage after she got Cedric out her system... Brian was evry womans dream... love this book
I really liked this story! While I was never a fan of Cedric, I was hoping and wondering if he would or could change his ways. Brian was a gem. The cleverness of Liz made this story a sure winner. Storyline held me captive & ending has me wanting to read more about these characters.
Sorry Cedric. This boy here was a straight dog.. I felt bad for Liz, she didn't deserve that... I'm happy to see that Brian and her ended up happy.. Wow the letter just explained everything. Felicia, so trifling...Good read. I really enjoyed this.
This was a really good read. Cedric was so wrong. He did Liz entirely too wrong and things definitely caught up to him. I loved Brian. He was always there for her. Felicia and Alvin got what they deserved right along with Cedric. I was happy with the ending.
This book has had me in my feelings! From all those damn sex scene's to the lies and deceit lord I had to take a break and get my self back together to finish reading this book! Even though this book kept surprising me with all the different turns of events I loved the way the book ended.
