Delve into the mystery surrounding fossils of gigantic creatures that have been unearthed all over this planet. Though these creatures looked similar to their living counterparts, there was one major difference: they were enormous by comparison. Monumental Monsters will take you on a journey to a fascinating world filled with curiosity and wonder. Investigate, analyze, and draw conclusions as to why and how these creatures originated, survived, grew so large, and finally disappeared. These monumental monsters present great insight into the true history of this planet.
Excellent! Vance Nelson's books are quickly becoming family favorites for read aloud time. This book was great fun, especially the comparisons between a human the the animals which once roamed the earth.
Another incredible book by Vance Nelson. Breathtaking full page pictures, depicting what these monumental monsters would have probably looked like based on their fossils findings. I have never heard of a majority of these creatures before reading this book. Definitely worth reading!
"Monumental Monsters" by Vance Nelson is a veritable feast for the eyes. Much like its predecessor "Dire Dragons", this book is a glossy, coffee table book with an abundance of photos and illustrations. This book looks at pre-Flood and early post-Flood mega fauna around the world, most of whom dwarfed their modern counterparts. There was also a 6-foot man to show the size differences, but the sizing of the man wasn't always correct. That's one thing I was struck by, the sheer size of these beasts! I found the accompanying text to be interesting and helpful, but a little too repetitive concerning the Creation, Fall, and Flood spiel. Also, there were a number of spelling and grammar issues. All in all, "Monumental Monsters" is a great introduction to the topic from a biblical perspective, but it just doesn't have the fascination factor that dinosaurs bring.
Great book covering some of the largest animals that ever existed, without the evolutionary garbage that's unfortunately common in these types of books. The author also points out how the extinction of these giants is actually in line with creation science's trend of loss of genetic information and completely contradicts evolutionists' theory of increasing genetic information.
However, the author also included at the end of the book a plea for readers to "accept Jesus Christ as Savior" that's unfortunately common in Protestant creation science books.
