Okay, this book was nowhere near as enjoyable plot wise as the first novel. The secretary. . . really?
Maybe I'm just a bit tired of the whole "sexy secretary" plotline that so many romances draw on. But it really made very little sense. Our main lead basically is taking up the abandoned role of mob boss from his brother who left the gang for ~love~ in the first novel. All while he's wrapped up in this weird relationship with his secretary that felt more akin to insta-love than anything else. The characters themselves are pretty dull with not much to speak for, but hey, at least the spice was on point.

Dirty Truth by KB Winters a sublime five star read. Dirty Truth an Irish Mafia Romance, this is the second book in the dirty liar’s series. Aiden O’Brian is the younger brother of Mafia boss Flynn who has disappeared amid rumors he is a snitch for the FBI, meaning that someone has to step-in to rule, and as the only viable family member Aiden is needed to step up. The only problem is he doesn’t want to, he has set himself a life up away from the syndicate, he is a successful lawyer, one of the highest paid in Chicago. He even has a sweet set up with his assistant Maggie, he wants her but knows he must keep it professional. That is until she sees something she shouldn’t and fate pulls the plug on his plans and makes everything change.
What will happen next, you will only find out if you read the book, will Flynn be able to reveal the truth and will Aiden and Maggie ever get to be more than professional?

Another great book written by KB Winters. This is book 2 and it is just as good as Dirty Liar. Aiden who is a defense attorney who has worked very hard to stay on the legal side of the law. HIs father and brother have been on the other side though running the O'Brien syndicate who is the Irish Mob. They live in Chicago, his dad is dying and his brother Flynn (from Dirty Liar) is on the "run" since their brotherhood thinks that he is a snitch. When there is nobody else to take over the head of the family, Emmett comes to Aiden. It's not really a job he has wanted but in order to keep it in the family what else he is supposed to do. In the meantime, his secretary Maggie has been in love with him since they worked together at the last law office. She has flirted with him and he pays it no mind. Until one day she opens his eyes and he realizes how attracted he is to her. They finally admit that they are attracted to one another and see how things go. Then one night Amon, who says he is an O'Brien comes into his house and threatens him. What will Aiden do? Amon wants him to step down from the family and let him take over but will he kill Aiden to do it? Even though Amon is related that doesn't mean he is part of the family. This book will keep you in suspense, on your toes and I loved how the relationship between Aiden and Maggie thrived throughout. It's a fabulous read. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book. I'm looking forward to what KB has in store in the future...

Maggie, sweet but not as innocent as she looks, has had a crush on Aiden, her boss for a long time, who takes total advantage of the situation they find themselves in.
Hot Sexy lawyer, trained to do the right thing, and clearing his brothers name is high on his priorities. Until he has to stand up and be accountable to his Brotherhood, alfterall his blood flowed with leadership qualities, even though he tried fighting it. As a sucessful lawer with a sucessful practice he swore an oath to uphold the law.
Until his Brother disappears, and he has to prove himself after a hitman tries to bring him down.
Maggie who whilst studying Law works alongside Aiden, learning from him. She had hidden motives and is very good at her job, but she also did what was needed. I absolutely loved the Parking Lot scene, sizzling..... Go Maggie!
They had great chemistry between them, they knew how to bring the best out in each other. This was an intrequing story, being in the belly of the underworld! With Maggie dealing with the issues together with Aiden.
I have to admit that I read this out of order, I should have read Flynn's books first, Dirty Liar but I don't for one minute think I lost any of Maggie and Aiden's story.

A great story that continues from the first book Dirty Liar, this one about Aiden who is Flynn's brother. When Flynn disappears Aiden is pressured to take over as the head of the syndicate. Problem is he is a lawyer and took that route to avoid being in the mob, he didn't want anything to do with it and distanced himself from it. Maggie works as his assistant and has known her for years, but she has been crushing on him all that time but he never really noticed her in that way, never crossing those lines. When she witnesses something she shouldn't have, Aiden has to keep a close eye on her, and a close eye he does. He finally sees what a beautiful woman she is and when she makes a move he doesn't resist. But he is being torn in two....being a lawyer or head of a syndicate that goes against everything he knows as a lawyer. Good guy or bad??
What I enjoyed a lot about this book is that Maggie kept surprising me, she is a strong woman and she doesn't care whether Aiden is a lawyer or a criminal even when he is supposed to do some nasty things....she sticks by him and offers him support. Another great thing about the book is that Aiden doesn't fight the relationship with Maggie, he accepts it and wants her support. It was thorough book with no gaps, some action, some suspense, steamy scenes and a love that grew over many years instead of an insta-love situation....LOVED IT. Another great thing about the book is that Aiden doesn't fight the relationship with Maggie, he accepts it and wants her support. It was thorough book with no gaps, some action, some suspense, steamy scenes and a love that grew over many years instead of an insta-love situation....LOVED IT. I thought Flynn''s book was good but I know that Aiden's book is so much more.

Maggie is his loyal assistant who has always harbored a crush on him but realizes he will never see her that way.
When Aiden must take over the family business since Flynn is on the run can he keep his two lives separate? And what happens when Maggie witnesses something she shouldn't?
Another great story from KB Winter. The reader will be pulled into the story wondering will Aiden join and will Maggie be OK with him being more than just a the lawyer for the syndicate? The reader will be kept guessing about who is out to get Aiden and why.

I got this as an ARC for my honest opinion and review. I read the book that came before this one. I loved Flynn, but this one is about Aiden. The brother that went the non-mob way. Only for Flynn to go missing and that forces Aiden to take up at leadership position. He became a lawyer to avoid being part of this thinking Flynn had it handle. So now he is doing his best to balance both side with the law. His assistant Maggie has been with him for years. She witness something she should not have and this makes Aiden keep his eyes on her. Makes him take notice of her I love that he did not try to ignore that relationship with Maggie and he wants and need her support. So what will become of the Syndicate?

Aidan must take over now. Maggie Burke is Aidan's assistant as well as a law student. Maggie has had the boys for Aidan since day one. She walks in on Aidan killing a hit man sent to kill him. What happens next is a telling story of love , betrayal and coming to terms with family obligations. If you like hot Irish men , steamy sex and fast pace action filled stories you will love Dirty Truth. It has some twist you never would have seen coming. This one centers around Aiden along with Maggie. Even though he wanted a bit different for himself sometimes life and family will sound the horn. Being it will not be ignored the adventure begins with us right there front row. This series is really good with this one having the staying power also. When lies abound ones that will effect others, things will get dicey. There might be intrigue but there is also plenty of heat. It smolders then burns consuming taking us in the wake of it. The truth is out there with us wanting to know. This one is a great ride all the way through.

I have always loved KB's books and this one didn't let me down. I especially loved the two main characters Aiden and Maggie. A lawyer so involved with his career that he fails to notice the girl who is in love with him. After all Maggie decides to take the first step and makes a sly move on him and they finally get together, in the front seat of his blacked out car. Sparks fly and passion is the only thing they feel. But things happen and their lives are in jeopardy until they find their answers. It is a happy ending, loved the book, could have used a few more love scenes for me but it was a fantastic read. I volunteered to read this for my honest review.

Adain O'Brien is a lawyer with a successful practice. He is also the brother to Flynn, the Irish Mafia leader who is in hiding after being accused of snitching. Adain will stop at nothing to find out the truth and prove his brother's innocence. He's working with his long time assistant, Maggie. It is a novel full of suspense and thrills. Lots of mysterious characters from the mafia. Like a who's-who in the brotherhood.

Flynn is trying to navigate leading the Irish mob while his brother is missing and being an attorney. Maggie, his secretary and a law student, has wanted Flynn the entire time she has worked for him. She knows all of the hidden business since she sits right outside his office doors and gets drawn in when she witnesses business gone wrong. He then sees her in a different light and there's no going back to the way things were.

Was excited to see the next step after Dirty Liar. Loved how Maggie and Aidan had a connection and working relationship prior to him acknowledging her. Maggie really put herself out there for Aidan time and again and I was glad to see Aidan not take that for granted. Great book and cannot wait for more from this author!

Maggie has worked for Aiden for a while and he has never seen her as anything but his secretary but she has always wanted more with him. When Maggie comes back to work and sees that Aiden has killed a man she helps him clean it up. Aiden is stuck being in charge of the Irish mafia in addition to being a lawyer and now someone put a hit out on him. As he tries to find his way to clear his brother because he has been labeled as a rat and to make sure nothing happens to Maggie he ends up having more with her and he couldn't be happier. Someone is trying to take over claiming he is part of the family and he is forcing Aiden's hand. I give Maggie credit for her dedication to Aiden and how easily she adapted to everything thrown at her and Aiden for trying to be on the right side of the law.

This is a great read about a man who tries to do what is right but finds himself unable to break the ties with his family's business. He is a lawyer and tried to distance himself from his family's criminal activities but finds himself right in the middle of it all when his brother disappears. Luckily, he gets some surprising support from the woman who works with him. She is willing to keel his secrets and stand by him regardless of the danger.
I liked their relationship. She is really strong and protective of the man she has grown to love. He becomes just as protective as he realizes that she will stand by him thru everything. They have a passionate relationship. There is lots of action too that keep the story exciting.

Dirty Truth by KB Winters is an awesome read. This book has a co,-located yet compelling storyline that flows perfectly. There are lots of turns to keep you on the edge and a roller coaster of emotions. I enjoyed reading it from start to finish. This story follows Aidan and Maggie. Aidan is a reluctant mobster. He actually worked very hard to keep his law office out of the Irish Mob's reach but Flynn, Aidan's brother is on the "slam" and his Dad is dying. Aidan is the last O'Brien. Maggie works at his law office as his assistant and has a big crush on him but is keeping that to herself. Highly recommend.

am I reading a different book from everyone else because omg *facepalm* The only good thing I found was the cover!
I HATE the female character! and I was praying Aiden was a better MC than his brother but... omg!!!

Great story. Loved Aidan and Maggie. Aiden is Flynn's brother and the new leader of the syndicate since his brother disappeared. He's a lawyer and used to doing things by the law until someone is threatening him and Maggie. Loved it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

After meeting Aidan in “Dirty Liar”, I was curious to see if his story was any better than Flynn’s, and I was not disappointed. It was interesting to see the “good” lawyer go “bad”.
Aidan’s entire story was a study in conflicts of interest, and how he was going to disentangle himself without getting killed in the process. This was especially intriguing, as in “Dirty Liar”, we were introduced to a standoff-ish Aidan who pretended the Mafia didn’t exist and that his life was better than Flynn's. I liked that Maggie pushed for him to notice her, instead of waiting on Aidan to make up his mind. That first love scene was very hot!!
I enjoyed this book, and recommend it.

Excellent and intense at times Irish Mafia romance. Aiden comes from a crime family. As the youngest brother he was able to seek something different. He became a very good defense attorney and opened his own firm. Suddenly his older brother Flynn goes missing so he has to maintain his oath as a lawyer but ring the Chicago Irish mob. Just can not put the book down and walk away from it.
