I was only supposed to play a role, but heart, won't always ask
I am Michelle Swanson, and I have a plan. I am going to keep working as a pharmacist while making my way to be a doctor... or at least, this is my parents’ plan.

My real dream is to be an actress! It is my heart’s desire, and I am going to make it come true! This is My plan!

But then Drake Sumner appears…He is a regular customer and one I would never dare to think as my own.

His sculpted body is as hot as hell, and you would never believe him to be a man of nearly 40. He is a man of status and what anyone would call “a real man.”

I am to play the role of his fiancée to help him inherit the family’s fortune. I even thought of bringing my roommate Jackson to help me keep everything professional.

However, things are going to turn utterly hot...They were already from the moment I met him and what is supposed to be a role for me will soon turn out to be the real part of a lifetime… He is going to be my fate…

** A steamy STANDALONE contemporary romance with a hot bad boy billionaire alpha. No cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after. Please note this contains a bonus book, both books are full-length novels.

Drake is a man who needs to inherit his families fortune. Unfortunately in order to do that he needs to find himself a fiancé. He will need to be married by his 40th birthday in order to get his hands on this money and it would be all of his, if not he will lose it. In comes Michelle. She is working as a pharmacist on her way of becoming a doctor even though her dream is to become an actress. In order to please her parents, she decides to put that dream aside for now at least. Drake happens to be one of Michelle's customers. When he offers her a business arrangement of a lifetime will she take the chance of reaching her dreams? What the two don't take into consideration that they will start to have feelings for each other due to their attraction is undeniable. When his family does whatever they can to stop the wedding, will they succeed? This is a good book with a few twist and turns, a lot of chemistry between Drake and Michelle and it's interesting to see where they will end up and how they get there. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book. Enjoy

A great story by Anna Collins about a woman, Michelle, who wants to be an actress and a man, Drake, who can make that happen but with a condition. He needs a wife so he can inherit his family fortune. Michelle agrees as long as it's strictly business but that fails as well and once they have been together, it isn't enough. Will their fake arrangement turn into something more and real and what will his siblings think and do?
There are twists and turns, flirting and chemistry between the two and steamy scenes. An enjoyable read but I wanted to know what Drake was thinking and feeling at times instead of just Michelle's POV.

This is NOT your normal billionaire romance novel. Taboo is a gritty look at a totally dysfunctional family that drives one family member to seek a make believe girlfriend who will become his fake wife so he can inherit the family fortune to keep the family and the family business afloat. Now that was quite the run on sentence, but it pretty well sums up the book.

There is no real love lost in Drake's family. His sister struck me as the devil incarnate...she was truly an evil person! The twists and turns throughout the book literally keep you perched on the edge of your seat.

Taboo is a dark, dark read--but so darn worth it. You should give this book a read today. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of of this book and was blown by it!)

Taboo is a dark, with an intriguing, unpredictable plot of twists and turns. It is a long read that could have been shorter without taking away from the overall plot.

Drake needs to legally be able to get access to his family fortune, but in order to do that he needs a fiance, ala Michelle. His family is just one crazy bunch. I enjoyed the overall story, but I would have liked to get Drake's point of view, and I thought the dialogue was a little stilted. They didn't sound like they were speaking casually or familiarly to each other; it sounded more formal, which I'm not a huge fan of for books. Still, I found the storyline and plot engaging and interesting. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

What starts as a flirtation turns into a whirlwind romance/fake at first marriage. I was given an advanced reader copy for review and then went and bought it. The chemistry between these two is undeniable and sizzling.

I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. I am stubborn and determined, which is the only reason why I finished this book. I kept screaming "shut up!" "Please stop talking"). I must not live on they planet these two were on but their banter was seriously putting a damper on everything. I skimmed at least 80% and the highlight was Jackson and possibly Janine.. wicked.

I really enjoyed this story of Drake and Michelle. They met at the pharmacy and the chemistry was strong. When Drake needed help, Michelle stepped in. Always wanting to act she knew she could help him. What transpired was an interesting story of strength and strong love. The writing style was different than I am used to. Very formal. Would have liked to see some of Drake's POV. Once I was used to the writing style I enjoyed finding out what happened.

Michelle and Drake can make each others dreams come true. He needs a wife to get his inheritance and she needs money to pursue her dream of acting. It seems simple but gets complicated when they are so tempted to act on the attraction.

I enjoy marriage of convenience stories. I think this one was well-written. There is a good chemistry between the characters and that makes it a good read for me.

I received this ARC in return for a voluntary review.
In all honesty this book was a struggle for me to get through. I'm not really sure why it was named Taboo, as I really didn't see anything that lent itself to the title.
Michele meets Drake at the pharmacy she works at. There is an attraction and together they decide to pretend to be together, get married and Drake will fulfill his father's will and received the family fortune. However things do not turn out as planned.
Drake and Michele are explosive together and their ruse become real.
Drake's siblings are harsh, especially his sister.
I really did not like the writing of dialogue throughout the entire book. At times it was formal and stuffy (?) and in all honesty it was more like watching a play - all dialogue, minimal direction or environmental clues. This unfortunately was not one of my top books.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review

I did like how the book started out with writing style and the storyline. To me the writing style sort of petered out once the sexual chemistry really took root. The tension was great, their first time together was great but the way they spoke together for the remainder of the story seemed stilted or just not how lovers would speak to each other.

I think I must have read a different book than some of these reviewers. I found this story to be confusing and poorly written. The number of grammar errors alone was enough to make me grind my teeth in frustration. One example:" ..I was determined not be pay full price for it and it didn't." One more: "Something was definitely wrong me." Does no one proof read any more? On top of that the story made very little sense. It seemed to be a way to add something around the descriptions of sexual activities. These also made little sense. No matter how many times he or she performed a certain act is was always touted as the first time. Plus, clothes would be off, then on, then off. I soldiered on and read the whole thing, but it was a waste. I even tried reading some of the additional books that always seem to be included, but they were more of the same. Don't waste your time. I finally had to give up.
By the way, I seldom leave a bad review. I feel that an author's works worth something as I am sure I couldn't do it. This was an exception.

Taboo was a pleasurable read; it was suspenseful/intriguing and has Anna Collin's signature romance too. Fun read during an evening or lazy weekend.

This review is from: Taboo: An Alpha Billionaire Romance Box Set (Kindle Edition)
I liked the characters in this quick read and the storyline is good, but it was difficult for me to keep up with which character is speaking. The main characters, Drake and Michelle, seem to have little interaction other than flirting and sex. It still needs some editing but overall enjoyable to read. I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving an advanced readers copy. Recommended for 18+ sex scenes and language.
