If you already know what GTAW means and are looking for a beginner's guide to setting up shop as a weldor/fabricator, then this is a handy book--the 2002 publishing year means that some of the charts and info may be out of date, however. Still, welding has along history and Marlow spends a lot of time with tricks of the trade, as well as some basics. He assumes a working knowledge of welding, though, so those just starting won't find this as helpful.

For the rest of us, information like the torsional distortion of various tubes is good and fun. For those not interested in welding, you could still learn things. Like, say you're at somebody's party. You could point out that their copper tubing in the garage is bracketed every ten feet instead of the required eight. Cool fun, eh?
