Demons and Wolves #1

Broken in Silence

Rate this book
Tannerian Wulfric is a leader—a strong alpha who bows to no-one, especially those who try to undermine his authority.

When an opportunity arises, he grabs it with both hands and lets nothing get in his way. Trouble is, his brother has been caught in the crossfire of glorious retribution, and Tanner is in need of assistance.

For many years, Alex Jonas has lived his life in peace. But when fate lands him in the hands of his ex-lover and alpha, he finds himself in the centre of a feud he never knew existed, and must immerse himself in ways he had never imagined. One chance encounter, one night, and everything comes crashing down around him. Alex must fight for his life while Tanner fights for one thing and one thing only—vengeance, which has never tasted sweeter.

Can Tanner avenge his family’s death without spilling more blood? Or will his inner demon tear apart everything he has worked for, and lose the man who owns his heart?

Warning: Contains strong language, violence, and graphic, erotic scenes. This is NOT a romance. It's hot, it's sticky, and all kinds of messed up.

After leaving school and renting a crummy flat at sixteen, bestselling author Katze Snow lives in Scotland with her wolf-dog and furbabies. Don't be fooled by how cute she looks out on the outside. Katze's writing is dark, twisted, and takes depravity to a whole new level.

Wow!

Warnings: IMO is not a romance story at all. So if this is what your are looking for, then you might want to skip this story. Secondly.....it ends with a cliffhanger.

I will be honest with you and say I almost did not finish this book. Yep, at around the 40ish % mark I was seriously contemplating it. I think it had something to do with the authors writing style for me. Yet, I kept going and I’m so glad I did because I actually ended up really enjoying this book.

Did the writing style drive me a bit nuts at times? Yes, but it’s growing on me. I really am invested in the underlying story of what’s going on with Tanner and what happened to him all those centuries ago. What effect it will have on what Ravenhill has planned. I am hoping that eventually the author will let us know if there was any reason why Tanner’s family was singled out in the first place. Not to mention why Tanner himself was then further singled out.

I don’t want to give too much away because it is turning out to be a really good story. The author has put a lot into the world building and the character development is done pretty well. The thing is she’s giving little bits of information here and there; adding to the overall picture. This is where patience comes in ;) *snorts* Yeah, I’m working on that....

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review:

Rating: 3 stars out of 5

The warning is correct; this story is definitely not a romance. While this is a very well written story; it was much darker than I thought and not because of the theme of the story, but more of how all the characters interacted and not one ever seemed to show their true face. And yes, while the sex is quite graphic, it also seems to have an unfeeling quality to it.

Tanner has been trying to avenge his family’s murder for centuries and when he finally sees an end in sight, he puts his ex-lover right in the cross-hairs. Alex has been taking care of himself since Tanner kicked him out a decade ago, but their connection is still as strong as it has ever been. They both don’t want to admit anything out loud, but can mostly by their actions.

We see both of Tanner and Alex’s points of view, so I knew what was going on through their heads; even when their outer actions didn’t coincide. While Tanner has protected Alex from the sidelines, he hasn’t shown that he has even though of him since he left. I had a hard time with all the underhandedness that went on throughout this book and not just by the main characters, it may be the world in which they live but it makes them very unlikeable. Alex does seem like he is a good person deep down, I have trouble believing there is much good in Tanner at all. It was left with a bit of a cliffhanger and leave me wanting to know what else is going to happen, but I’m not sure at the moment if I will continue to read this series.

Cover art Jay Aheer is absolutely wonderful and perfect for this book.

Words are escaping me right now. I am finding it so hard to put words to my thoughts.

It says that this is the first book of this series but during the story it feels like you the reader are missing something. Hopeful in the books that follow she will clear this up.

The book has dual POVs, Tanner and Alexander. Tanner is the big bad Alpha who has tainted demon blood in him. Alex is a fire mage who is in love with Tanner.

The setting reminded me of L.A. Witt's "Chip in his Shoulder" mixed with Nicholas Bella's dark erotic "Chained in Darkness".

I think for those who enjoy demonic shifter paranormal novels you will enjoy this story. This series is just getting started.

Broken in Silence takes the reader to a world—well, actually, two worlds—where shifters, mages, vamps, and humans exist: Zion, the land of the opulant and elite, and Meadowsin, the working man's drearier, second class world. The balance between the two seem necessary. Throughout the story, I noticed there were many aspects of balances, heirachy, and rankings.
This story focuses on Tanner, a much feared, powerful, and sadistic alpha wolf-shifter who always gets what he wants and by whatever means to do so. In his world, there is no love, only lust. Whether it be for power, money, sex, revenge, greed, and control; only the strong will survive. Yet, there is someone other than his demon who gets under his skin.
Alex is a fire mage who has been down on his luck more times than not. Tanner and Alex have a history together as well as apart, as Tanner has always watched out for Alex from the shadows. Their relationship is D/s by nature.
What the reader needs to realize is that this is a decently dark paranormal book. What seems abusive, gritty, raw, and despicable is just a part of the non-human underground world. Those who were once a sworn enemy may not be when placed in a different situation. In this world, everything has a price, everyone has their place, and the consequences of crossing them are severe and ... well, inhumane.
We learn the reason why Tanner is the way he is—for monsters aren't born; they are created—and how it's become his mission to destroy the very thing that's responsible for it. In doing so, all that's left in its wake is a trail of death and destruction. And ... a cliffy! But have no fear, Ms. Snow is currently working on the next in the series.
Broken in Silence has plenty of colorful characters who the reader will either love or hate, vivid descriptions of all things, people, and places, and out of this world sex (yes, I do mean that, literally), along with a captivating storyline.
Yes, I've given this a five star rating even though there were a few things that I feel can be improved upon: there were words used in the wrong context which confused me, and at times, the sentence structure seemed fragmented and choppy. I have faith that both can be remedied through communication between beta readers, the author, and her editor.
In all, Broken in Silence is a fantastic book from such a brilliantly talented, young writer. I can't wait for the next in this series to see what Alex and Tanner get themselves into! I highly recommend this one ~ PNR-MM.

I wasn't sure what to expect seeing as Katze Snow is a somewhat new writer. That's always the thrilling part about discovering a new author. I always worry about the style of writing and if it will mesh with what pulls me into the story. I was pleased with how this went down.

This book turned out to be extremely entertaining. It's dark, emotional, gritty, and suspenseful. I would absolutely not class this as a romance. We are dealing with paranormal here. From typical vamps and wolves to powerful magic and of course humans mingling through the lines. The world of power pretty much how you'd imagine. How strong you are and how rich you are, dictates how powerful you are. There's no room for love and passion is non-existent.

The reader navigates through this world and to you it might seem like Hell but to these characters, it's what they know. So, I felt, in many ways, I was looking through the veil.

Tanner is misunderstood for a lot of this but the author does peel away some layers and we do better understand why he is who/what he is.

Alex was a lot more "connectable" you feel a humanity in him even though he's a fire mage. The already built-in history between Tanner and him makes how you see their relationship important and it helps you understand a bit.

There are some minor issues with the writing in the form of sentence structure and improper usage of vocabulary but I was able to get by just fine. Knowing I was reviewing an ARC I rationalize that these errors are likely fixed before publishing. There's a cliffy which always frustrates me but, again, hopefully, the next book will be out soon.

All and all, I felt this was an exciting and powerful intro to this series and great story building from the author. I suggest you give it a go.

It took me several attempts to get into this story. It may have been my mood at the time, but once I started and got to over half way I was enjoying it. It’s a slow build story culminating in an exciting climax. The characters and the situation are set up well with good descriptive writing and creative imagery. Having said that, there are many times when there's an incorrect use of a word or phrase, which made me pause and go back to re-read so I could understand what was being said. There were also typos/ missing words and a few inconsistencies, such as using Zara, Zena, and Zenra being used for the name of the female demon. I thought at one point it was as if the text had been mistranslated from another language.

Anyway, the main plot focuses on Tanner's plan to destroy the demon that ruined his life two centuries ago. His parents and sister had been murdered and the demon had taken possession of his body, turning him into a hybrid shifter/demon. Tanner wanted to avenge his family and release the demon that possessed him. Tanner was a strong character. A ruthless and selfish son of a bitch who would use whichever pawn necessary to get what he desired. He was chief of the underground since being cast into that shadowy world. He was powerful and always got what he wanted. We didn’t really see much of this role, only glimpses into his personality. We don’t really see him as a wolf or much of the pack he controls. They could easily all have been humans.

After discovering the name of the demon who ruined his family—Elijah Ravenhill—and that he’d been invited to his brother’s Shadow Ball, Tanner decides to use his ex-lover, a fire mage, as bait to distract his brother while he pretends to be him. Although they hadn’t seen each other for ten years, Tanner is not happy about Alex having sex with his brother, but needs must. He was ruthless enough to let it go, although as time passes and the lovers hook-up again, Tanner thinks he might actually love Alex.

Tanner and Tobias are shown to be opposite twins. They no longer have anything to do with each other. Tobias is the good and noble twin, who lives in the light. He is warm and kind and Alex feels guilty for plotting to betray him. I wondered if Alex would eventually choose him instead of Tanner as the blurb states this story is not a romance.

I particularly enjoyed the last quarter of the book. I loved the suspense and anticipation of what was going to happen at the Shadow Ball. Would Alex betray Tanner after all? Or would he succeed in distracting Tobias long enough so Tanner would manage to capture Elijah and destroy the demon who’d made his life a misery over the past two centuries? Events didn’t turn out as I expected.

So although this story is not labelled as a romance, there is a love story that filters through the pages and, by the end, I was hoping Alex would choose Tanner over Tobias. Even though Tanner was a mean and sadistic character I was rooting for him to succeed in his mission. Be aware those who do not like ‘cheating’ in romance novels that Alex has sex with Tobias as does Tanner with Sebastian and others. Tanner claimed Alex was his several times during the story, but they were not in a relationship as such. We are treated to several hot and steamy scenes with a touch of D/s activity too.

This story is set to continue, and although it sort of ends HFN, the mission is not over yet. Not exactly a cliffy but nowhere near resolved.

If you enjoy slightly darker fantasy stories with mages and demons you’ll probably enjoy this one. Although the story is centred around a wolf shifter, there’s not a lot of shifting or pack activity and the vampires come across more as humans rather than traditional creatures of the night.

OptimuMM - Home of MM Book Reviews
description

This is the first MM novel from the author. And warning! We need to keep a look out for this author! She is brilliant, amazing and dark!

When you start reading this book, you find yourself in the middle of the plot. You may think that you need a previous book to catch up with the characters, but that’s not the case.
Katze has a unique style to bring the past into the present without any effort on the reader’s side. And now let me introduce to this book, who’s sequel I’m already waiting impatiently for.

Tannerian Wulfric, but let’s call him Tanner is a fierce alpha. He wasn’t always this cruel, calculating, manipulative jerk. But when his family is killed, except his twin brother Tobias, things change. He should be dead, him and Tobias too, but the killer of his family has another idea to torment Tanner. What, you may ask? Well, you need to read the book to get that question answered.
He’s plotting now for more than two hundred years to revenge his family. This quest alienates his brother and pretty much everybody from him. He goes through lovers like a warm knife through butter, well except Alex.

Alex meets Tanner when he’s in the lowest in his life. And of course, Tanner takes advantage of that. Alec becomes his new pet, and he trains him and controls him as he pleases. Now, after eleven year, him meeting the Alpha, and ten years out of his control, Tanner has a mission for him. Alex can’t deny the feeling which he still nourishes for him. Even though he has a smartass and cocky attitude, Tanner’s piercing look still has an effect on him.

The story happens in a world where shifters are divided into two groups. One who is in servitude of mankind and one who thinks that they are superior to humans and they should be not the servant. Well, as you guessed Tanner is the leader of the latter.

I would like to congratulate Katze on this amazing work!

I love a good antagonist, and seeing a story partially told from the POV of someone whose morals are questionable at best fascinated me. The flow of the writing kept me interested from start to finish, and I enjoyed the progression of the plot. The characters are interesting, and I was invested in their stories. The description, creativity, and world building all marked this is a particularly good read for me. I ran out of pages before I was ready, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

Wow! Not what I was expecting, and that made this book incredible! When Katze said this was a dark series, she wasn't kidding. There is absolutely no pulling any punches in this book. Amazing characters, situations that not only surprised me, but also made me cringe and shocked me. Loved this book. Can't wait to see what else Katze Snow has in store for us in this world!!!

Oh what an exciting and fast paced read. It has it all action deceit, manipulation and hot steamy sex. Overall I really enjoyed the book. though I felt if it was a little slower paced we would have connected even more to the main character. But I still recommend people to pick up this book and give it a go.

Tannerian Wulfric lived through the murder of his little sister and parents at the hands of a demon named Elijah Whitehall. To say this demon was evil is to understate the malicious glee he took in not only murdering those Tannerian loved but also planting a piece of himself in the wolf shifter that was hell-bent on seeking revenge. Tannerian was consumed by the demon inside him, and any attempt to shut down the entity’s influence on his psyche was a lesson in futility. As the centuries went by, Tannerian, who began his career alongside his twin brother, Tobias, working for Halo—the governing body that sought to prevent shifters from harming humans—slowly morphed into a hardened, unforgiving man. When he could no longer abide the edict that set the shifter community below the human one, he rebelled and led a revolt against the government, establishing himself as the leader of the underground known as Meadowswin. Now long estranged from his twin, Tannerian seeks his revenge quietly and slowly, using any means possible to get closer to the demon that ruined his life.

Ten years before, Tannerian had found a young Alex Jones on the street, bloodied and bruised. As was his policy, Tannerian tended to take what he wanted and he definitely wanted Alex. But after just a short time, Tannerian cut his lover loose, and Alex, hurt and confused, left to rebuild his life. Now he owns a tea shop and has been reunited with his mother as well as his younger sister. Between trying to make ends meet and seeking treatment for his sister, the fire mage has little time for anything else—particularly Tannerian Wulfric, who is a dark reminder of a past Alex would like to forget. However, Tannerian holds the lease to Alex’s shop and when Tannerian calls in a favor, Alex can do little but obey. Now Alex must infiltrate Tobias’s world and get himself invited to the ball where the demon Elijah Whitehall is to attend. If all goes to plan, Tannerian will swoop in and have his revenge. At least, that is the idea—reality is not always the same thing.

I am sure I won’t be the first or last to stay emphatically that this is not a romance. In fact, if you can make it through this novel without hating Tannerian Wulfric, then the author has done her job and succeeded in making a rather dark and nasty wolf someone who you want to know more about. I can assure you that while there is no romance between Alex and Tannerian, there is definitely a fount of lust that borders almost on loathing. Yet, there is also an indefinable pull, an attraction that has deeper roots than sex, and it’s this connection that both men fight against. This novel is not for the faint of heart or someone looking for a sweet romance that wraps up nicely. It ends in a cliffhanger and keeps your head spinning through the entire story. There is a whole world-building situation that starts in this novel, only to be continued in subsequent installments, which is actually a really smart move on the author’s part. You see there is a great deal of backstory to unearth for many of the main characters, and to do so all at once would have made for a rather dull novel.

What I can tell you is that while Tannerian seems to be a single layered character bent on revenge, he is much more. There is a thread of humanity still left in this man, and every once in a while you see it heave its way to the surface, only to be quickly subdued by the mental anguish and doubt the demon inside Tannerian inflicts on him. A love for Alex is the real source for this tiny bit of softness and when the fire mage is threatened late in the novel, we see Tannerian at his most vulnerable. And there is the bit of romance that keeps the reader going, that makes you want to pick up the second installment and continue learning about this dark and gritty world where life is harsh and compassion is rare. In the meanwhile, you will need to keep your wits about you as you read for there are many bits and pieces of Tannerian’s history that are slowly given out.By the novel’s end, you have a better sense of who this man is and what drives him to do the seemingly heartless things he does. You find yourself longing for just a glimpse of the love you know Tannerian and Alex have for each other—despite the anger, blood and pain that surrounds both of them most of the time.

Broken in Silence plumbs the darkest depths to bring you the beginning of a gripping saga that I am convinced cannot end well and yet—and yet—Tannerian is a clever wolf and has managed to survive when others have not. Love may, in the end, be the very thing that conquers the darkness inside Tannerian, but it is a love that will be paid for in blood and sacrifice.

First and foremost, READ the warning. This is NOT. A. romance. It is a very good book, but it's dark. My complaint is the damn cliffhanger!!! It should be against the law for you author to leave cliffhangers. Oh my gah! However, it was still really good. Right up my alley with all the paranormal. Yummy.

I think my only other problem I had, is a personal one. Tanner is a dick that I really wanted to throat punch. However, lol, I had to remember, Tanner has been through some crap of his own. Very bad crap. And part of who he now is makes it worse. As much as I wanted to hate him at times, and mostly because of how he treated Alex, I had to stop myself. The more you read the more you start to see a different side to Tanner that he refuses to show anyone. Which, who can blame him, in his shoes. Head of the Underworld? Yeah, you have to be able to kick ass and take names. But you begin to see a side to him that is really…..not endearing….but you're more sympathetic to I guess? Two things changed really started to change my opinion of him. And sorry. Can't share but one affects him physically and mentally. The other cracks that hardass shell of his and makes him finally start to see things differently and with his heart.

Alex. Have mercy Alex. I don't know what to do with this boy lol. I want to hug him and hold him one minute because he's endured a hell of a lot himself and the next I want to shake the hell out of him for thinking with his dick. Men *huffs* lol. (Lot of us women are that way too). Anywho. Alex did a lot of what he did for survival though. He, unfortunately, got attached to Tanner in the process. And yes, Tanner has his moments, but for the most part, being with him is deadly and dangerous. And I have to admit there is a thrill about the bad boys. Sometimes we have to give that mess up though. Just when Alex was finally starting to get ahead make just a smidgen, who comes along and throws a wrench in the works? Uh huh...Tanner. and he has NO problem using any means necessary to get want he wants. Including blackmail. And one major trick up his sleeve he finally gave into. Alex has no choice but to give in.

These two are just a mess. Tanner on one side and Alex on the other. Two totally different worlds and Alex got sucked in. The bad part in this is the job, the vengeance Tanner is looking for backfires and something bad is coming.

I know what's coming and I hope maybe Tanner gets some peace and changes just a bit. We will have to see. It's a good book. I recommend. Just be forewarned of the cliffhanger.

Broken in Silence, the first installment of the Demons and Wolves series is intense.
The writing style of this author is borderline surreal. After personally reading countless books in such a passionate past-time, it becomes difficult to say that I am impressed by a certain writing style. Katze Snow presents a story embodied with substance. While reading this installment, I find that it conjures more cognitive recall based on grammer and sentence structure used. I admit, though, at first I was dumbfounded.
I truly wanted to put the book down, honestly I believe I did for a brief period before picking it back up. I am grateful for doing so.
The characters, main ones being Tanner and Alex, are supernaturals mixed among humans; including demons, mages, bears, dragons and wolves..
This mass combination creates a thrilling suspense of love, loss, war, torture, fame and fortune. It tells of how centuries have passed, relationships have been molded and may have been destroyed.
Tanner lives as a hybrid daily struggling to fight his inner demon. He somehow falls in love with Alex, a fire mage, without realizing it until he claims him as his mate.
Admist the twinning of the personal relationship they share, as well as not, they separate before mating and Tanner continues his sordid affairs with random men in attempts to satisfy his lust by telling himself that it is to teach others a lesson, to put them in their place.
Alex is aware of Tanner's darkness and craves him nonetheless.
Admittedly, there were sections I breezed quickly through when seeking what happened next, but found myself backtracking in order to make sure details were not overlooked. This book contains pertinent information from the author in even areas where the reader may believe there may not be.
I would warn any reader to use cation when attempting to read this series. It contains lewd sexual content, foul language and graphic torturing.

This is definitely not your usual love story. And these are not your regular hero's.

However, it was amazing all the same if not more. I can't even properly express how much I enjoyed this book and even though I found myself cringing while Tanner did and said certain things, I loved it and simply accepted that's who he is.
Tanner is not a good guy. He basically an antihero and lives for vengeance. Even though he has someone he .... favors, Vengeance is the only thing that has kept him strong and alive. It's what fuels his organization in The Underground.

While hunting the Demon that destroyed his family, he comes across a chance that he has been waiting and searching for since he established himself in the darkness. It's an opportunity he simply can't not take advantage of and even if it means using someone he favors as leverage he will do it to finally get closer to avenging his is family.
He and his brother are estranged, and though he still has a small soft spot for his brother, not even he will stand in his way of getting the Demon.

Alex has lived in peace for the past 10 years but when his ex, whom he never truly got over, comes to ask a small 'favor' of him. He knows he has no choice but to take it on as well as for his own personal financial and familial reasons. Just when it all seems to be going as planned everything starts to fall apart. With Alex and his brother's life in the crossfire Tanner finally realizes Alex means more to him than just another good lay. He can't loose Alex. But will he be able to save Alex and his brother? Or is he already too late?

Loved it! I can't recommend it enough. If you like how it sounds, and don't mind a bit of darkness and grittiness in your stories then don't hesitate to pick this up!
I simply can't wait to see what happened in the next installment!

Broken in Silence: Demons and Wolves Book 1
By Katze Snow

Broken in Silence is a paranormal fantasy series where wolves, vampires, demons and other mythological creatures are brought to life in this dark, sophisticated story that sets the stage for an exciting series. The book follows Tannarian wulfric, a powerful Alpha, on his personal quest to avenge the death of his parents and sister against an old and powerful demon named Elijah Ravenhill. With the help of the very sexy fire mage, Alex Jonas, Tanerrian attempts to infiltrate a one the most coveted party for the supernatural’s most privileged citizens, hosted by non-other than Tanerrian’s estranged brother, Tobias. What was meant to be an easy mission to get in and quickly retrieve their target, Elijah, turns to a horrific turn of events that has THIS reader eagerly awaiting book 2 of the Demons and Wolf Series. Katze Snow does an amazing job in creating characters with depth. They are smart, sexy, witty, and while flawed, they show incredible inner strength and motivation in what drives each an everyone. If you enjoy paranormal books with hot sexy wolfs and vamps, like I do, this book needs to be downloaded to a Kindle or Nook near you. If this is your first introduction to a MM story, I would say give a try, the story for sure stands on its own. While the book contains the following triggers: language, violence and graphic MM erotic scenes, they are, in my personal opinion well written and tamed if I was doing a comparison to other books I have read. My only negative review is that a possible future release date for the sequel was not mentioned at the end of book 1. Def a 5 Star Book!!!

This was a dark and captivating read, although, I didn't really like the main character, Tanner at all. He and Tobias are twins who have somewhat become adversaries since they both live opposite lifestyles. Tanner is the leader of the underworld while Tobias is a good person and lives in the light. I immensely wanted to know more about Tobias because reading about Tanner just wasn't pleasant ever since he lost his parents and little sister in a fire due to the Demon, Elijah, and his life centered around getting revenge. Tobias had gotten a very unfair deal when all is said and done and I felt saddened for his character. The story is gritty, vile at times, dangerous and action packed and exciting. I did enjoy it and I'm curious to know what will happen next.

Dark and decadent

How can you not love flawed and fiercely strong characters? The author, depicts the two main character as such. Alex and Tanner are brutally perfect for each other. It is a dark book filled with black mail, betrayal and possession. Being inhabited by a demon and his wolf, Tanner has his hands full trying to juggle who has ultimate control over his actions. The one thing he knows without any denial is he wants and needs Alex. How Alex feels doesn't matter to him. I love the underlying angst he constantly battles with in himself. Alex is a tortured soul who has been abandoned throughout his life and it has shaped him into the man he is today. He has finally got his mom and sister back and is relishing in the sense of family, when Tanner shows back up in his life after callously dismissing him many years ago. A proposal is set to Alex, one that may destroy him, but help him at the same time. Tanner can be very persuasive! I loved this and all of the twists and turns. I am looking forward to the next installment. I have found a new and wonderful author. Please take the time to enjoy this book as I have.

3.5 Stars for this great story.

Tannerian Wulfric is a werewolf. When he was young, his family was murdered by a demon, Elijah Ravenhill. Only Tanner and his twin brother Tobias survived from the attack.

200 years later, The world is divided, The Halo (council of the city of Zion) want humans and shifters live together, for that, they created a code, a code which oppresses the shifters.
Tanner, who is the chief of the Underground world. A world of violence, blackmail, crimes where the shifters bannished from Zion can live (if we can say this), want to break this code, breaks Zion and freed the shifters. For him, Shifters are above the humans and they don't have to lives in the shadow. But when Tanner heard that Elijah will be attending, the Shadow ball organized by his brother Tobias, Tanner sees the way to finally achieved his revenge.
Alex is a young fire-mage, when his father almost beat him to death before abandoning him in the street at seventeen, he was found by Tanner and for a year share his life and bed. 10 years later, Tanner come to him and forces him to seduce Tobias.
Tobias is the exact opposite of his twin. When Tanner is dark, crual, selfish and clearly a criminal, Tobias is a noble, charming and work with the haloists.
The twins aren't in a good terms and when one lives in the light , the other lives in the shadow.
Katze Snow offer us an exciting story, full of surprise.
We don't have time to be bored with her writing, the story is dynamic and rythmic and until the end we can't be sure that everything will be fine for our heros.
It was my first time with this young author, she has definitely something in her and I look forward to read more books from Katze Snow, and see her growing and improve her style.
I recommend this book.

Broken in Silence a first book in what looks to be a great series, Katz Snow a new to me author that I’m now looking forward to reading more from. I’m rather picky when it comes to the M/m genre and I have to say I’m glad that I got the chance to read this story.
A story more erotic than romance about two males Id say one all alpha the other all sassy. Tanner a wolf shifter with a bit extra is all about revenge. Tanner is one of the major players in the underworld, if its moving he knows it.
Their world is spit the oh so good people and the not so dredges of society, which Tanner had a taste of the previous and now lives the latter. Note: Dredges doesn’t mean Tanner is a bump or lives in a horrid lifestyle.
With seeking revenge it comes with a price, what’s Tanner’s? The Wolfric family has had a horrific past twin brothers spit in their own thought process’ and how they see their world, which puts them on opposite sides of each other. What of Alex the ex (kind of) why was Tanner drawn to him in the first place?
A detailed story great length, loved both primary and secondary characters. The air of mystery with danger and a bit of violence. Some yummy hot scenes throughout the story. I enjoyed the concept and cant wait to see where the story takes us. I recommend it as well. Enjoy.

I am so glad l volunteered to get this book for free by giving a honest review.
This is a M/M book that is a must read and does not disappoint.

Katze Snow has written a fast paced, dark, captivating book full of great characters. Set in a world full of shifters, vampires, humans and demons. Rough sex, torture and an exciting plot kept me hooked until the end.

The main characters come alive and with their unique personalities, you want to follow them throughout the story.
Tannerian Wulfric, Tanner, is a dark wolf hybrid with lots of hidden depths. Cruel, sadistic and singleminded Tanner will stop at nothing to fulfil his vengeance against the one who caused his life to change.
Alex Jonas is Tanner's ex lover and is brought back by Tanner to help him in his quest of plotting his revenge.
Other integral characters are intriguing and help create the darkness seeping through the pages.

Katze Snow's writing is fluid and keeps the story flowing consistently. It is well written and deserves the 5 stars. I highly recommend this book and praise the author for an excellent read.
I couldn't put the book down and when l got to the end wanted more pages to turn.
Exciting looking forward to the next book.

Katze Snow has brought to life a world of darkness with the touches of light. A story within a story. Tanner's vengeance is strong but so is his connection to Alex. This is a book that you'll want to reread and each time you do, you'll get more. In depth and deeply described, there is so much potential in where the author can take it. I received a complimentary arc and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I look forward to reading more about the many players who will have major parts in the war to come.

I bought and read this book today and loved it, I will be buying more of Katze's work. This is a dark tale, in its way romantic though Tanner and Alex wouldn't agree. The storyline kept me glued to my seat as I had to finish it, I found it captivating, entertaining with twists and turns, dark and manipulative undertones. Katze captures the mens emotions with lust and sizzling sex scenes. I certainly recommend this book.

Broken in Silence is dark, gritty and oh so sexy, like nothing I have ever read before. The writing was breathtakingly good. The ruthless Tanner set on a path of revenge, has a sexy way of disciplining any insubordinate. But there's only one person that Tanner can't get off his mind and that's the sweet little fire mage, Alex, whom he saved years ago. Spending a bit of time training the boy to his idea of perfection.

I loved Alex, because even though he at times feared Tanner he still stood up to him. He was so endearing. I feel like he definitely balances Tanner out very well.

I also loved when Tanner met Emily, that was adorable. But I think that whole scene was my favorite, even after with Tanner and Alex in the Cafe... damn that was hot.

There was definitely a lot going on in this story. We are thrown into Tanner's world and at times things seem a little overwhelming. And you can't help but keep reading because the story consumes you. I don't believe I have read anything quite like this before. Was a very nice change.

I definitely can't wait to read more from this series.

The book has merit but there are a lot of things happening and I was a little bit lost.
We know that the MC is not exactly one to root for. He does things that a conventional hero wouldn't do and it's only explained in the end that he is the yin to the good guys yang and I would say I agree but I wasn't exactly sold on that.
I wanted more backstory to everybody's behaviour.
As the tag said it is not romance which incidentally it's something I actually like since I prefer the plot to be the main point and not the relationship between MCs.
I liked it though and I recommend it but I'm not sure whether I will continue reading the rest.

Though the author tries to bring you into the loop from the first, there's a discord from the beginning. At about 65%, it struck solid and true and then went off kilter again shortly thereafter. It's an interesting idea and a series I'm curious about, but the writing needs to become more developed, which will happen as the author writes more. I look forward to seeing where this author goes.
