Spark: A Bad Boy Romance

Rate this book
I looked up from my mat and called for the next customer after I handed a long island iced tea off to a girl with a drunken sway in her step. My eyes fell upon a man of medium build and exceptional height. He leaned an elbow on the bar as his green eyes scanned the menu above my head and slightly behind me. He ran his thumb and forefinger over the stubble on his jaw and I shifted my weight to my right foot to stop my knees from aching. I hadn’t seen a man who looked like him before. He had a presence. I wasn’t used to being intimidated by my own customers, but there was something about him that demanded respect. His eyes were still scanning the menu board behind me. I let myself stare into their sea of green, flecked with streaks of gold. His dark hair nearly grazed the top of his eyelashes as he looked up from under his brows. Finally, he settled his intense stare on me.
*Spark is a Bad Boy Romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

I hated the main character

The writing of the book was ok, but the main character was so irritating that I had to give up half-way and just scroll till the end. I don't think I've ever hated a main character like this. She had just gotten out from a bad relationship and despite her best friend's (who has been there for her and taken her shit) warnings she went out with a guy she just met and stayed overnight with him. Then she sees that the guy has aggression issues, but somehow it's okay? And somehow she know that he wouldn't use that aggression on her, ever? Really. After just one date? Things worked out for them in the end, yay, but I it was not believable to me. The hero didn't seem like hero, but more like a side character. There was not much you could get out of him.
