Timeless Storm: Timeless Hearts, Book 5
: Sandra E Sinclair

This is book 5 in the series. I haven't read the first 4 so it took a bit to understand this book. Time travel and romance with twists and turns. I need to go back and read the other books to see where the whole story began. It caught my attention well enough to want more.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Meghan Kelly.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

What I really loved about this is it starts where book 1 left off we got to see some wonderful characters with one that left an untold story. I was so glad when I picked this one up and started it to find out it was about Ryder. As you found out in the last one he was taken back to the past when he was very young. He has a hidden talent that is very surprising that the author really brings out as he goes from the past to the future. How much can a few year change he thinks as he is taken ahead a few years. What he finds really shocks him as he learns to deal with the changes he finds one lady that is Raven’s best friend. He has to make her understand what happen to her best friend as well as deal with his family and the past he remembers, and the future learning just how much of a talent he really has and what that will mean to the women he falls in love with.

Meghan Kelly really pulls out the characters as she goes through the paces the author gives. She really bought this story to life making it very easy to picture the scenes. Some were downright scary making my heart beat fast a time or two. I felt I was right there with them and held my breath to see the outcome. Her character voices are delivered with such emotion really breaking your heart as the two main characters come head to head chasing storms that could end their loves. There were no repeat of words or any changes in volume, no background noises. You have no trouble knowing what each character feeling or who is taking. Her tones are right on the money giving a very in depth feeling of emotion. Her female voices are just as great as her males, giving an in-depth deep voice or a smooth as sweet sexy one. This is a very clean, clear audio that is very realistic that you almost feel like you are watching a movie. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. She really delivers a highly exciting listen that kept me spellbound holding my breath, laughing and so glad when the thrill is over.

Ms. Sinclair really holds nothing back as she delivers and exciting, passionate, clean read that holds you spellbound. It was a story I couldn’t put down I had to find out what happen next. She gives you thrills, chills, smiles and a few hearts stopping moments. It broke my heart when Ryder meets his family, the author really pulls on your heartstrings. Oh the letters were so touching but very heartbreaking. I was glad and sad at the same time. I loved how she brought the past to the future going into detail of the changes and how confusing they were. She explains things so easy filling in all the blanks. There were times I had to smile and even laugh but other times I was sad. So much to look forward to but so much left behind. When you close the book you are left with a feeling of hopes, dreams and a smile. But you still wish the friends could meet again. These couples make some very tough decisions when they travel in time. I loved each character how they deal and what they find out, just what is held back and for what reason. I think the most exciting was the storms how Ryder deals with them and the things they find out as well as the passion between them and the choices they make. I know I was on the edge of my seat, I had no trouble at all picturing the storms with my heart in my throat. Loved it from start to finish. It was a great addition to the first book in the series. I can hardly wait for the next one and see how the authors blend the past stories into the new ones. I am so loving this series.

In this book we follow Ryder as he goes forward in time ending up over a decade ahead of the timeline he was born in. It was really interesting to look at the modern world from the perspective of someone who had missed about 25 years of development, the amount of change that has taken place is significant.

Poor Ryder is very much out of place and this book follows his attempts to make a new place int he world, again.

The romance in this one is a bit rocky but sweet and is fun to read.

I liked getting a glimpse at what happened to the characters from Timeless whisper, it tied that story line up really well.

The narrator did great character voices and the delivery was really natural and easy to listen to.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

This book is #5 in the series, but the story follows immediately after the story in series book #1. Read after book 1, "Timeless Whisper." Both are Western time travel romances. Fun, but with flaws.

Here is an example of a problem from this book. A man comes back to 2017 after spending a few years in 1880's Texas, but while having been 12 years old when he left modern times, he has a hard time remembering how 2017 showers and plumbing works.

If you are a hard core Outlander fan looking for time travel romance, this is an entertaining book, but definitely not as good as a Gabaldon work.

Audiobook Addict Warning! Less than half (6 of 14) of this 2017 series is in audiobook format as of August 2022.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title.

Okay, Ryder, the frightened little boy, now grown to a strapping hulk of a man, wakes in that little room, where he had woken so many years before.
However, now, he was back to his future, and he was very disoriented.
Luckily fore planning had assistance on his doorstep, and help from a couple of sources.
I hate to spoil a good tale, so you need to read for yourself, this explosive story.

Twist and turns

I’m totally amazed how these stories are so connected and yet separate. I could feel the emotion emitting from Ryder the whole way through. The twist and turns of his life had to be hard to overcome. Torin had been connected in a way and made a perfect counterpart. I loved the story and look forward to more.

Timeless Storm by Sandra E. Sinclair was a good book. Ryder has been trapped in the past for the last fourteen years. Ryder jumps at the chance to go back to the future to see his brother and father. This was a great book that I enjoyed reading.

Listened to this book on Audible. Fun listen. Have read others in the series but not all. Don’t feel like it’s a must on this series, but I might be wrong.
Will continue to listen to these as they are available.

Very well done, sweet and clean. To get the most of this story, read Timeless Whisper (book 1) first. We first meet Ryder and Torin in book 1, along with Raven and Lance. This is Ryder’s and Torin’s story.

I absolutely loved the first audiobook in the Timeless Hearts series, Timeless Whisper. It had everything that I enjoy in a story – historical romance with elements of time travel. One of the reasons I enjoyed it so much were the interesting supporting characters, such as Lance’s best friend, Ryder. We know from Timeless Whisper that Lance befriended Ryder when he was a young homeless boy in 1866 Texas and Ryder grew up living with Lance’s family on the farm. At the end of the first book, 14 years had passed and Ryder returns home to present day.

Despite being labeled as "Book 5", Timeless Storm picks up immediately where Timeless Whisper left off. Ryder just stepped back into the future and is dumbstruck with all the changes that occurred in the 14 years he was gone. His love interest in the story is Torin (Raven’s best friend in the 1st book) who received a19th century jewelry box from Raven as proof of that she is safe. Included with the box was a request that Torin help Ryder adjust to the present day. Torin tries to help Ryder achieve closure on his past, but she is a storm chaser for broadcast TV news and she almost gets herself killed, which Ryder wants no part in.

With as much as I really loved the first book, I can't help but feel disappointed with this story. I really wish more time was devoted to character development. We know why Ryder left the area 14 years ago, but we don’t know how he was accidently transported back to 1866 specifically. We also don’t know how or why Ryder experiences weather differently from anyone else. He’s basically a human electrical circuit and no other information is provided on this anomaly.

Meghan Kelly narrated the Audible version of the story I listened to and she did an outstanding job. Meghan provides different voices for all characters and she has great intonation and pace. Her narration definitely contributed to my enjoyment of the book and the overall rating shows it.

Interesting read

Torin and Matt belong together, and they both know it. Matt can sense tornados, Torin chases them. They are from two different worlds. Can they get together despite the differences? Good read but ended too abruptly.

Tori is a meteorologist. She loves tornados and she always goes very close to them, apparently without fear. She misses her friend Raven and she is worried about her.
Ryder is a time-traveller and he is a bit confused this time because although everything looks the same as before, it is different. The feeling, the people, the cars, the strange devices, everything has changed. He feels lost and lonely.
As I haven’t read the first book, the dates and the characters were a bit confusing at the beginning, but I started to understand the story after a while.
It was very interesting and I liked a lot the letters as they clarify the story. I liked Ryder better than Tori. He is honest, he says just what he thinks, and he is clean and worried about people. Tori is a little thoughtless when it comes to tornadoes. She is not really aware of the dangers they can bring to the people and their surroundings.
A good book to enjoy in a windy and rainy evening.
