A legendary hitman is after Harry Starke, and he has to find the hitman and who hired the assassin.

Harry Starke and his crew deal with an assassin sent by "Little Billy" to cause as much mental and physical to Harry's crew, his wife and to Harry lastly. The assassin, a former Mossad member, Calaway Jones, is lightening fast and cunning and Harry calls on all his resources to beat her. I liked the development of his characters, the use of technology and the good, old-fashioned car chase. Would make a good movie!

Another great book from Blair Howard in the Harry Starke series. With Harry getting a little older and now married to Amanda all is well with his world. Unfortunately it doesn’t stay that way with an old adversary, albeit in prison, deciding to avenge his daughters death at the hands of Harry. With Shady Tree involved another offender who wants to see Harry punished for the supposed wrongs he’s experienced acting on the others behalf he employs an ex Mossad assassin ( enter Calaway Jones) a slip of a girl who is certainly not to be taken lightly. Has Harry finally met his match? Not only that but his adversaries want him to suffer and hiring Calaway a pro who always fulfils her contracts as a point of honour it looks like it’s finally going to happen. With Harry close to family and friends he knows he has to win this battle but he’s finally coming to realise he’s not as good as he was. Where will it all end? It looks like he has to give himself up to Calaway to protect the others or play the game of his life. This is a superb book where Harry becomes a little more human and vulnerable. Loved it!

Well Harry s problem with Harper continues to plague him.
Harper puts out a contract on him, and adds a few extras. He wants Harry dead, but he wants him to really suffer first by targeting his inner circle. Tormenting him with minor injuries, near misses, all calculated to distract him.
When he was sufficiently off centre to kill Amanda, so he would experience the loss of someone close. Then it would be Harry's turn to die.
So it begins, and yes Harry is narked, but the more aggravated he gets the more focused he becomes.
The assassin is a woman, found on the dark web, with a formidable reputation. Callaway Jones.
Then Harper is killed in prison, but the contract is still in effect.
Harry ends up face to face with his would be murderer, and he is getting his butt kicked, almost fatally, but someone saves him. The most unlikely people.
Four days in hospital, battered, bruised and a skull fracture and Harry is ready to go home - just.
Very good read, plenty of action which keeps you in suspense til the end.
Definitely back on form.

This book started right off with giving us a look at how little Billy,, even from prison is still getting things done that he shouldn't be. Billy is still angry with Harry for putting him behind bars but he has a bigger reason for being angry and he intends for Harry to suffer! This story has all the non stop action and suspense with of course a touch of romance that we have come to expect from Blair Howard's books. But we have never had Harry in this position before and it is scary not knowing how it is going to end, the twists are fantastic! I always end one book so ready to keep reading the next and thank goodness the next book is already out!! I have to add that Tom Lennon does an amazing job telling us this story!

Calaway Jones by Blair Howard
SPOLER ALERT: If I didn’t know there were more books in the Harry Starke series, I would have said that Harry met his end by Calaway Jones. She was a shrewd, smart killer and if it wasn’t for Amanda, she would have been successful in killing Harry.
I started Calway Jones Book 10 in the Harry Starke series yesterday and finished it today. Now I have already downloaded and started Book 11 Emoji. This should tell you what an excellent read Calaway Jones was, as is all of the Harry Starke books as well as the Kate Gazzara series.
I am a huge fan of Blair Howard and will continue to read all that he has written. He writes in a style that makes it easy for you to want to keep reading. Don’t start one of his books before you want to go to sleep because you will find yourself staying up way after your bedtime.

Another riveting story from the pen of Blair Howard. I was hooked from the beginning right through to the ultra exciting end.
A hitman has been hired to slowly take out all Harry Starke's loved ones and then him, this was to cause Harry the worst kind of suffering. This was no ordinary hitman, this was Callaway Jones. I won't spoil the story but needless to say this was the most skilled operator that Harry had come across, could he protect his loved ones ? could he outwit the brilliant Callaway Jones ?
This book is full of nail biting suspense, danger and clever physical and psychological manoeuvring, I love the obvious research that has gone into the writing of this book, I love how Amanda, Harry's wife steps up to the mark. A well deserved 5 stars

Harry's old enemy, though in prison, hires an assassin, an ex-mosaud operative to hurt Harry to the max before killing him. While Harry and his friends including Kate and Lonnie try to figure out a way to catch Callaway Jones, first Amanda is targeted, then Donnie is attacked, shot, and it's suggested that Harper be killed in prison, but Kate stated that would make them are accomplices for murder. Harry's problem, how to draw his assassin into a trap with Harry as bait. How that turns out, you'll have to read for yourself. Thanks for another great read.

This book is a winner; exciting with nonstop action. Harry has met his match with Callaway Jones. This little girl has the pro in professional down to a fine tune and many little tricks up her sleeve. Congressman Harper wants revenge for Harry putting him in prison and for killing his daughter. Harry, his wife, and his friends plan on how to take care of Jones but it seems Jones is always one step ahead of them. And figuring out how she’s doing that cost them at every turn. Mr. Blair has written another drop dead, roller coaster ride. He’s a Masters storyteller and has me on the edge of my seat!!!

Calaway Jones is an action packed adventure with Detective Harry Starke and his friends in a race to find an assassin before she takes them out. It’s a good, action packed story, but the assassin didn’t quite ring true for me. She was too sure of herself and made too many mistakes.
Contains violence and mild sexual content. This series is best suited for adult audiences.
The narrator of the audiobook is the same narrator as the rest of the books in the series. He does a good job.

Blair Howard has brought to life another awesome Harry Starke novel. Harry and beautiful wife Amanda, along with the rest of the crew, are the object(s) of Little Billy Harper's revenge. From prison Billy Harper has put a price on Harry's head, but not just a simple contract, a contract designed to cause Harry as much mental anguish as possible prior to the final act, killing Harry Starke. Can Harry remove the people he loves the most from the equation and stay alive? A must read. If you haven't read any of the Harry Starke novels you should, a nice perk to these books is even if you haven't read the 1st 9 books, you get enough information in each novel to "get it", the relationships, the repeat characters etc. As as ARC reader for Blair Howard, I have to say, the stories never get boring!

Outstanding Series
I read the first 3 books in this series and was immediately hooked. The rest of the books in this series, including this last one, are very well written and the author makes you care about what happens to Harry and the rest of his friends and family. The books are fast-paced and the plots well thought out. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes a good crime novel with a likeable PI as the lead character.

Blair Howard does it again
Thoroughly enjoyed Book 10 as well as all the other nine books. One of the things I like best is the story always moves right along . Also, there is no gratuitous sex just to fill the pages. These books held my interest from start to finish. I recommend anyone who loves a good detective story\mystery to read all these books from the 1st through the last one. Hoping there will be more of Harry Start in near future

How does he do it....
This writer is amazing...every next book is as good as the last..quite new to Harry Starke but up to book 11.. can’t put them down my housework is second on the priority list..anyone not read these books needs to start you will be hooked from the first one.. AND ..I’ve just discovered there’s a series of Kate Gazzara books as well when I’ve done with Harry!... hope you enjoy reading them all as much as me...

Calaway Jones (Harry Starke #10), my thirty-second read from author Blair Howard. Well-written and enjoyable, edge-of-your-seat fiction. This time Harry's on his own, no spoilers from me, you'll have to read what may be Howard's best work. I look forward to his next book no matter the main character. Narrator Tom Lennon's narration has been perfect over the Harry Starke books. Next up is

Starkey series
Anybody interested in a great thriller series? Look no further! I just finished the series and was impressed. Attention grabbing stories that you can't find a good place to break away. I like to read series novels in order and I'm excited that #11 was just released. Fabulous job Blair Howard!!!! Ill be watching for future Starke experiences.

Could there be six stars for this one, please?
Whew, what a ride!! This one is a real cliff hanger. An edge of your seat ending to beat all!! This book starts out at a dead race, and only gets faster. You cannot put this one down until the very end.
Mr. Howard, you have outdone yourself on this one! The ins and outs of electronic tracking, fast cars and wild chases. Hoo-Rah!!

Good read!
I have already recommended the whole series to several people. I like the author's writing style and the characters created. They all fit together and support the stories well without overwhelming the plot of the protagonist. Good read! I hope that there are more to come as I have all the so far.

When a war starts that incorporate your family the rules change. Harry Stark will do whAt is necessary to protect his family. When Harry is threatened by a Congressman he totaled the warning to heart and prepared for the worst. When a Congressman hired an ex Missed agent to deliver his revenge then Harry must change his thought process as he realizes that this is the first attempt, but will not be the last. This is Harry Starks at his best. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

This is the second book from the series that I've read. This was a very entertaining story and hard to put down. Even though the name of the bad guy is revealed early in the story, there is still much to the storyline to be revealed. You won't regret buying and reading this book. I was gifted a copy of the book for my honest review.

Best action/mystery series I've read in years!
Action, plot, characters woven together by a master story teller...I would recommend this series to any fan of Lee Child or Thomas Perry!

It's one of those episodes where the best of the best is outsmarted by someone even better.
