With the human population growing and alien refugees pouring in from around the galaxy, Earth is becoming too overcrowded to sustain itself--and the solar system is filling up with the alien overflow. Advanced technology from the Alpha Centauri and Vatusan systems offers one possible solution. It's time to explore new planets and see if any uninhabited ones can be claimed.
The President and First Lady, aka Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini, aren't supposed to be on this mission, but what looks like a snafu during a political photo op on the newly christened Distant Voyager spaceship turns out to be a call for help from a planet that might be Earth's salvation...or its destruction.
The discovery of a world at the opposite end of the galaxy that seems like it could be a twin to Earth creates the usual issues for Kitty & Company. It also raises questions of Z'porrah and Ancient influence--not to mention cloning, the multiverse, and, scariest of all, whether or not the Black Hole Universe Police are starting to take too much of an interest in this particular universe.

With more and more alien refugees arriving in our solar system Kitty and her crew have quite a lot of work on their hands keeping the peace and finding everyone suitable homes. That would be more than enough to keep them busy on its own but when they receive a distress call from the other side of the galaxy they suddenly find themselves on an intergalactic mission that could either save the universe, or end it.

There aren't many series that are still going this strong by the time they reach book 16 but Gini Koch never fails me and this book has all her trademark humour, fantastic characters and fast paced action. Not only do we get to spend time with many of our favourite characters (lets face it there are now too many for all of them to have a starring role in every book!) but we get to meet a whole host of new ones who I'm sure we'll be seeing more of in the future. I absolutely love seeing Kitty and Jeff back in the thick of the action again, things slowed down a little for a few books when they were the ambassadors but now they seem to have more freedom to go on adventures again and that's when they're really at their best - when they're coming up with crazy schemes to save the day.

I'm not going to say too much more because fans of this series will already know exactly what to expect from this book. Instead I'll just confirm that you're in for one hell of a treat and let you get on with enjoying the ride!

I can’t believe that there are already sixteen books in this series! Gini Koch always manages to deliver a fun and exciting installment to the series. For this particular one, there was a little bit of a wait since there were some delays, but rest assured that ALIENS ABROAD still holds true to the rest of the series. You can expect a lot of Kitty’s signature humor and charm as well as some epic Sci Fi plot twists.

Many of you have been asking if you can read this series out of order. I wouldn’t suggest it. While Koch does give a quick recap at the beginning of every book, there’s sixteen books in this series, people. There’s no way she can put all the details no matter how she writes in the beginning of the book. For the best experience, I would suggest starting at the beginning.

In this particular book, I found that the humor was spot on. I enjoy all the books, but there were just so many LOL moments in this one. A lot of time it’s just Kitty’s thoughts and narrations, but I guess that’s why she is the star of the show. She really does stand out in the crowd and I love her for it.

As the series has progressed, I love that the world continues to grow. There are new characters and universes that come into play, expanding the epic world that Koch has already created. I think if you’re unsure about Sci Fi and want something to dip your toes in, this is a wonderful series to try out.

ALIENS ABROAD is definitely worth the wait! Filled with humor, charm, and aliens, the Kitty Katt series is Sci Fi at its best!

You’d think they would have learned by now, but an average press conference can turn Kitty’s world upside down bringing her entire family with her.

A simple press reveal for their newest AI ship takes Kitty, her husband and president, Jeff, her children and all the top political cabinets and most of their children for a haphazard and delightfully Kitty-esque adventure. Fighting evil, finding and collecting an arrangement of furry and not so furry friends to add to Kitty’s menagerie.

Talk about your high octane, hilariously funny, outrageously animated, A.D.D. ultimate adventure and that was just the first chapter. Just joking, seriously, it was the entire book and I absolutely loved it!

I received this ARC copy of Aliens Abroad from Berkley Publishing Group. This is my honest and voluntary review. Aliens Abroad is set for publication February 6, 2018.

*Thoughts*

Aliens Abroad is the sixteenth novel in Gini Koch’s rollicking Alien science fiction action series featuring Katherine "Kitty" Katt-Martini as the heroine who kicks butts, takes names, and rocks out to various cuts of music as she is doing so. As the story opens, Kitty is contacted by an unknown alien who asks for her help. This is the first time the author has introduced us to the so called Dreamscape, which no, has nothing to do with the movie from 1984.

Buy this book now! This series just keeps delivering excellent stories one right after another. Ms. Koch is one of the most creative and wacky authors I have ever come across. This series is phenomenal and should be read in the order written. Jumping into the series at this point may be a bit rough and not as enjoyable because there is quite a bit to catch up on.

I knew going into this book that I had to start it in the day time. If I started it at night, I'd read til the wee hours in the morning and suffer a horrible book hangover the next day. Luckily, I spent Christmas eve enjoying this completely delectable book. It is FANTASTIC!

Kitty never gets any downtime. She is constantly on the go, protecting first the States, then Earth and finally other planets and aliens. One would think that is it. But now, she now has to fight to save the galaxy because there is a little something weird going on and if she isn't there to stop it, life as we know it goes KABOOM! No pressure, right?

No lie, this story is action packed from the get go. There is no slowing down this crazy train. It is exhausting as Kitty runs from one disaster to another. What is more frustrating is that it seems she is fixing someone else's mistakes. In essence, her job is Mr. Wolf, the fixer. She figures out what is going on and then comes up with a solution that is totally left field. Okay, I have to lie here. For me, none of her plans are left field. And all the references Kitty uses works for me because I have read, watched and listened to the same things. For nerds or geeks that enjoyed comic books, super hero cartoons and listened to a lot of "older" music, this book totally works for us. There are so many pop culture references from when I was growing up, it makes me feel like I'm part of Kitty's team. Most of these references are nods to classics from the States. I am not sure this book would translate as well to someone who didn't grow up in the 80s and 90s in the States. Since I did, this book brings me easily into the inner circle of Kitty's super team. I love it.

Ms. Koch's writing voice is so unique. Her characters are snarky and over the top at times. There is something so special about Ms. Koch's writing style that I just can't quite explain it. It has to be experienced. She creates an amazing world with richest and it does feel as if the author may be a bit ADHD. She bounces from one topic to another and the connections are lightening fast. I love that. The frenetic pace coupled with multiple meanings for actions is what pulls me into this world. It is every expanding and the loveable characters just keep on being lovable. Whilst this book is complete with a lot of saving and solution delivery, it ends on a cliff hanger. Perhaps we finally confront the dark secret in the closet. The ending of this story hits with a big bang and just as the heroes sail into the sunset, something new pounces. I can not wait for the next book in the series. This book is highly recommended to fantasy readers who like eccentric snarky characters who dance to the beat of their own drum.

A little episodic for my tastes. While each adventure was exciting in and of itself, with lots of Kitty-banter and action, and things mostly tied together at the end, a lot of the stops felt like side quests when I just wanted to get to the end. Basically, the pacing was up and down instead of building to a climax. Also, I am reaching serious character overload. They dragged 100 people along on their adventure.

This was an action-packed tour of the galaxy--make that galaxies--and newly discovered planets and aliens. And it took me a while to read this epic--days, as a matter of fact. It doesn't usually take me this long to read a book that I'm enjoying, but I had to do other things, including sleep. Incredibly enough the story is populated by more and more animals, including cuddly and intelligent rabbits. And some of these new creatures aren't so cuddly, but Kitty can adjust and continue to make new friends.

The story is populated with old friends, whom I'm always happy to see again--and old enemies. Kitty and company travel in the fantastic ship, Distant Voyager, which has a mind of its own. So, as Kitty and company planet hop, she continues her hobby of handing out names, saving assorted planets, listening to her favorite songs and artists and accumulating clues from same. She manages to make time for Jeff and their children and friends. Keeping track of all these characters isn't easy! I was glad to run into ACE and other friends and allies--most of whom I remember. Koch does a good job of juggling them all and identifying them, though I've lost track of a few...

So get ready to deal with black holes, stars about to go nova, a lost solar system, devastated planets, along with planets and civilizations on the verge of destruction. There are also bored children with their own talents and plans for a vacation, but they take time to help with saving planets too. Oh, this is a long, wild ride with a cliff-hanger ending which continues with an excerpt from Aliens Like Us.

Sixteenth in the Katherine "Kitty" Katt hilarious science fiction, romantic fantasy series and revolving around the really expanded family and friends of Kitty Katt-Martini.

My Take
A chunk of the start is spent in catching us up in the series: the number of aliens who are refugees on Earth from various galactic wars, Jeff is president of the US, ACE resides in Jamie, Lizzie's parents and current "parent", all the other multi-verses with their own Jamies, Kittys, etc.

Koch uses first-person protagonist point-of-view from Kitty's perspective, which exposes us to Kitty's superpowers, as she confronts pride, revenge, and greed as she goes about saving various planets and their peoples with Kitty making friends everywhere she goes. It's all that acceptance she's got going on, seeing everyone as people. Wouldn't it be great if we could see everyone that way. It's also why Mother put Kitty on Communications.

I love that Kitty is so ticked off with the superconsciousnesses and gets a really amazing bargain.

Action Girl Kitty is all about sentient beings being people no matter what they look like, moves to music, and gets plenty of hints about what to do (or not) from Algar. She's not the only action however. Her core group sees plenty, and Mother keeps everyone on board hopping as well.

Yep, it's still funny, but omigod, Koch has really leapt into fantasy-sci fi land on this one. And her glee about her FLOTUS super power started to become annoying, even if it was fun!

That about-face from Mephistopheles is hard to wrap my brain around.

Kitty is practical, requiring ten times the number of bathrooms the guys think are necessary for the spaceship. Good thing, since there are way more passengers than anyone ever expected — thanks to a couple of young'uns!

Ooh, I love that power source for the Distant Voyager! If only we could get it to work on our cars, lol.

It's a tour of parts of the galaxy and a long voyage of encountering hostile planets with violent populations, rescuing others, and gathering allies. SuperBun's planet is quite the oddity, although Helix Prime does give it a run for its money. I like the idea of it being a tourist destination, lol.

The prose is running with plenty of slang, and positive Kitty is mother, superpower, and snark fest, lol. The politicians along for the ride are not positive with lots of whining. The kids are gleeful. Mother is dictatorial until Kitty has had a chance to work her wiles on her.

What can I say, it's fun, humorous, and has lots of gadgets — the way to my heart, lol

The Story
The Distant Voyager is a huge achievement for the US, for the world, a ship that can explore the galaxy. It's at the ship's christening that everything goes wrong.

That'll teach Kitty to promise Jamie and Charlie a vacation! Especially when Ixtha tells everyone the fate of the galaxy is at stake.

The Characters
This isn't the complete of characters. For that you'll need to check out the review on my blog.

Katherine "Kitty" Katt is married to Jeff Martini, a gorgeous alien from the Alpha Centauri system. She's also the First Lady of the United States, Queen Regent of Earth for the Annocusal Royal Empire, the Galactic Delegate representing Earth on the Galactic Council, and known as the Warrior Queen Shealla on Beta Eight. She also has Dr Doolittle skills. Harlie and Poofikins are two of her Poofs. Duchess is Kitty's pet pit bull. Charles Reynolds has been Kitty's best friend since ninth grade, is the smartest guy in the room, and is the current director of the CIA.

Their gifted children include the six-year-old Jamie who is the host for Fairy Godfather ACE, a superconsciousness returned to Kitty and the A-Cs. Mous-Mous is Jamie's Poof. Their two-year-old Charlie is also telekinetic. Mine is his Poof, lol, although Murphy also signs on.

Sixteen-year-old Lizzie ( Alien in Chief , 12) is their ward; Fofo is Lizzie's Poof. Benjamin Siler, a highly trained assassin with his own gifts, is Lizzie's adoptive father and the current American Centaurion Defense Attaché.

Nadine Alexis is their live-in nanny. Francis Alexis, Nadine's sister, is Kitty's double; Craig Rossi, an A-C, is Jeff's double. Colette Alexis, another sister, is Kitty's press secretary. All three Alexises and Craig are Troubadours. "Uncle" Pierre is the White House majordomo and Kitty's fashion consultant. Rajnish Singh is the chief of staff and an A-C troubadour. Vance Beaumont is Kitty's chief of staff. Akiko is the fashion designer who makes all of Kitty's clothes.

Walter Ward, an A-C, is the head of White House Security and Malcom Buchanan, a.k.a. Dr Strange, is Walter's boss, the head of Team Tough Guys, and assigned to protect Kitty and Jamie ( Alien Diplomacy , 5). Colonel John Butler and Cameron Maurer are part of Team Tough Guys. Len Parker, Kyle Constantine, Evalyne, and Phoebe are part of Kitty's Secret Service detail. Keith is the head of Jamie's Secret Service detail that includes Joseph and Rob?? Dr Tito Hernandez is the inventive White House Physician ( Alien in the Family , 3).

Mom, Angela Katt, former Mossad, is the head of the Presidential Terrorism Control Unit (PTCU); Sol Katt is Kitty's dad. Uncle Mort is the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Brigadier General Marvin Hamlin is good at spotting conspiracies.

Kevin, Mom's right-hand, and Denise Lewis have two children: twelve-year-old Raymond and Rachel. Denise is in charge of the embassy daycare. Doreen, an A-C, and Irving (a total science nerd) Coleman-Weisman have a son, Ezra. Nancy Maurer is caring for her grandchildren thirteen-year-old Chase/Chance and Cassidy.

Most of Jeff's cabinet are along for the ride.

These Alpha Centaurions were . . .
. . . exiled to Earth for their religious beliefs. Christopher White is Jeff's cousin and married to Amy. They have two kids: Becky and Jeffrey (JR) Richard. Toby is Christopher's Poof. Twelve-year-old Kimberly Price is another of the kids. Paul Gower, Jeff's cousin, was a dream reader and the A-C Head of Recruitment, although he's now the A-C's Supreme Pontifex. Richard White is the former Pontifex and is Kitty's partner. Serene Dwyer, a closet troubadour, is the A-C Head of Imageering and the head of the secret A-C version of the CIA. She's married to a human, Brian Dwyer, an astronaut and an old boyfriend of Kitty's. William Ward, Walter's older brother and an imageer, is the Head of Security for all of American Centaurion and is based at the Dulce Science Center in New Mexico. The late Gladys Gower had been the original head of security. Melissa "Missy" Gunnels does security at Sydney Base. Viola, Carmine, and Romeo are the head of security? at Caliente Base. Camilla is a rare A-C who can lie naturally; she's married to Rhee.

Abigail Gower-Tucker and Mahin Sherazi are Embassy Cultural attachées.

The critters include . . .
. . . Peregrines can blend and protect the A-C royal family on Alpha Centauri and on Earth. Bruno and his mate, Lola, are Kitty's peregrines. George and Gracie are Walter's peregrines; Teddy is Walter's Poof. The Poofs, brought by Algar, are cute, cuddly furballs who can get large and in-charge. Ginger is an ocellar and Wilbur is a pig-dog from Beta Eight ( Alien Research , 8). The least weasels, the royal mascots of Algarria, are the newest addition.

Hacker International is . . .
. . . a group of computer hackers hired to do the government's dirty work. Their leader is Stryker Dane, a.k.a. Eddy Simms, Big George Lecroix, Dr Henry Wu, Ravi "the Geek" Gaekwad (he's married to Jennifer Barone, an A-C), and Yuri Stansilav, a.k.a. Omega Red. Chernobog is the world's top hacker, and while part of the group, is actually under house arrest. Jeremy Barone is Jennifer's brother.

The Distant Voyager is . . .
. . . Earth's first inter-galactic spaceship and designed by Gustav Drax ( Alien in Chief ), a self-exiled Prince of Vatusus. The crew includes Commander Daniel Chee, Brian, and Airborne, which includes Tim Crawford, the head of Airborne, who's married to Alicia; Matt Hughes; Chip Walker; Randy Muir (he's married to Claudia); Joe Billings (he's married to Lorraine); and, Jerry Tucker (he's married to Abigail Gower). Lorraine and Claude are captains on Alpha Team. Commander James Reader, a former model, gay, and Kitty's other best guy friend, is married to Paul Gower. The ship IA is Mother, the HAL computer who takes over the ship. Mossy is one of the people who have hidden on the ship; he's a brigadier general in the Turleen Air Force on the planet Tur, although in Alien Nation , 14, Mossy was one of the leaders of the Mykali with Muddy the general.

Bahrain
Prince Wasim is eighteen and a senior at Skidwell ( Alien Education , 15); he's the grandson of King Raheem. Naveed Murad is his personal bodyguard.

Ali Baba Gadhavi is/had been a notorious crime lord and is now an ally.

The journalists
Adam Johnson, a retired baseball player, is a co-host along with Kristie Rodriguez on Good Day USA ( Alien Education ). Both of them have roles in Code Name: First Lady, that was made by Jürgen Cologne. Bruce Jenkins is the Tastemaker (Alien Collective, 9). Mister Joel Oliver is now a top investigative journalist who is always accompanied by Belli, an African grey. Dion Callen France is the photographer/cameraman both Jenkins and Oliver use.

The Anciannas, a.k.a. the Ancients
John Wruck is a shapeshifting Ancient.

The Free Women of Beta Twelve are . . .
. . . Amazonian shapeshifters ruled by Queen Renata. Princesses Rahmi and Rhee are warriors and Renata's daughters.

Alpha Four is . . .
. . . the Alpha Centaurion planet where Alexander, the emperor of Alpha Four and Jeff's cousin, rules. Leonidas is a councilor.

The Sovereign Nation of Algarria is . . .
. . . a micronation. Al Garrison is their emissary meant to end the war between the United States and Algarria.

Ignotforsta is . . .
. . . a planet of apes — Kitty names them the Real Naked Apes — and are part of the Apatan system. Wheatles Kreaving is aboard the Eknara , a science vessel, investigating a disastrous neutron wave. Setah Momac is the ship's doctor. Bremelos Merplon is the ship's navigator. Grentix Wheekus is the science officer.

Cradus is . . .
. . . a moon made entirely of metal and the Cradi are under attack. Its uninhabited planet is Sephidon — both moon and planet are sentient. Crion is their sun. Their first contact is Fathade, and her mate is Feoren. Serion and Sciea, a C-3PO person, are siblings. Cavus "the Terminator" identifies as asexual. Pheo is their spaceport. It's the Orange Scourge that is so dangerous to them.

Other Superconsciousnesses . . .
. . . are the builders of galaxies. Sandy and the others have been laying down rules for ACE and Naomi Gower ( Alien Research ). Lilith had been an evil superconsciousness, but appears to have turned over a new leaf. Space Lucinda is another turned-superconsciousness that allies with Kitty.

The DreamScape is a realm that connects all beings through their dreams. Gates are an A-C technology that allows for instant transport. Algar, the Ard Ri, is a being from the Black Hole Universe who is on the run because he’s a Free Will Fanatic. The A-Cs don't know he's the Operations Team, a.k.a. the Elves.

Nazez is a planet where . . .
. . . SuperBun is the head bunny. Peter is the snuggly bunny. Lord Dupay, a.k.a. Dopey, wants to save the universe. Harvey will be the combined Dopey-Grumpy. Neela is the leader of the Dawar, the tree people, on the planet Tropea, a.k.a. Night World and Planet Black. Hixxx is the sea serpent, the leader of the Ezkot on Nazez.

Helix Rime is . . .
. . . the planet ruled by the Sheep Man, a.k.a. Mad Lord Johpunnt. Luhgremn is the capital city. Roanach is a sheep and part of the Outer Guard. Clorence is a possum. Telzor is the Captain of the Guard.

Helix Noblora is . . .
. . . Ixtha's planet?? It's the planet Helix Rime keeps attacking, and I think it's part of the system Kitty refers to as the Cradle of Life. Ixtha is the one who contacts Kitty through the DreamScape, terrified that her system is in a galaxy-ending situation.

The Cover and Title
The background of the cover is a range of teals with an abstract mountain range and a full moon above. From the roll-up in the bottom right, it appears to be a poster for one of the Code Name movies. In front of it is the blonde, long-haired Kitty in a pale gray Chanel-like jacket and tight fitting gray dress with thigh-high gray boots. She's facing us but looking up to the right and holding a formidable rifle. At the very top is the title in turquoise and yellow. The author's name is right-justified just below the title and in white.

The title refers to all those Aliens Abroad our earthlings encounter on their journey to find Ixtha.

A perfectly enjoyable read - but I didn't love it, wasn't gripped by it. Easily put it down to attend to other things - but then happily picked it up again later. I think my problem is - with the 'Gods/Superiors" on her side in this adventure - I never really felt any tension or threat. Kitty rather blithely tackled each situation with a nonchalance - since she's never failed yet - so alien encounters often came off as a little lack-lustre. There was humour - and lots... and LOTS of secondary characters in this book. Koch's need to make animals/alien animal races sentient (along with every planet, moon, sun) became a little - been there, done that.
I like Kitty. And this space tour/vacation was a nice change of pace - but I still needed that pace to spike occasionally and present a real threat/dire situation.

If you still haven't started on this series, you should go get the first book asap.

For those familiar with this series: this is yet another fun adventure in the roller-coaster ride that is Kitty's life.

Kitty and co get taken on a trip into space and things get wild. There are lots of new things they discover, Kitty has to save the day, and just when one crisis is averted the next comes knocking. There's a lot going on, and once again I had to keep paying attention to keep up with what's happening.

I loved exploring the galaxy together with Kitty and her crew. The ship they're on is very cool, and the things they encounter disturbing, cool, fun, and more. It's a good thing Kitty usually figures out what should happen to set things right, because there's a lot to fix in the galaxy.

All in all a fun and very enjoyable read. The ending makes me eager for the next book to find out what's thrown on Kitty's plate next.

I enjoyed it, like always. I think I especially enjoyed this one, because we got away from the political world and immersed in sci-fi. Those books are always the best one of this series, imo.

However, I still do not like the uber-powered deus ex machina children, and they were particularly annoying in this book. Because, I'm sorry, Jamie is SIX YEARS OLD. It is intolerable for her to just do all of this with no consequences. Because firstly, she may be a gifted child, but she is in fact a child, and a 6 year old (much less a 2 year old, when Charlie gets in on the decision-making) can't be put in charge of the decisions. Children can be misled, fooled, taken advantage of. I hate having her be the wise Jesus-child, as if her every decision and impulse is unquestionable and should be followed. And I feel like it makes Jeff and Kitty particularly shitty parents when they just go along with whatever Jamie says and does. Are they trying to raise a little LeRue or Stephanie? Someone who believes they are always right, about everything, and the world better just conform to their wishes? Because that's who they are raising right now. At some point, this is going to backfire, and Jamie is going to do something - because why wouldn't she, mommy and daddy are always fine with whatever shit she pulls - that gets someone killed. What happens then?

But despite being seriously aggravated at the above bullshit, I had a lot of fun with it. Nearly crapped my pants when Algar showed up. Heh.

Sadly, this is the last book that has been released in this series, so now I have to wait. I can't believe I blitzed through all 16 of them in a month or so. Oh well, what can I say? I really enjoy the world, the pacing, the humor, and most of the characters.

Kitty in Spaaaaaaccccceeee!!!!

Feelings After Reading: OMG scared than very surprised by that ending, love for all the characters, those KIDS!!!

This series continues to be my happy place. It's just comforting and fun to see what these characters get up to. I also love space and shows like Star Trek, so this book was definitely for me and it boldly goes to many new places.

This book takes pretty much every character we've ever met along for a wild ride. Just when you think you know what's going on you're in for a surprise.

The ending too, wow, it seems to be taking the next book in a very intriguing direction.

Overall, if you haven't started this series yet, check it out ASAP.

These books just keep getting better & better. The motto of this series should be to expect the unexpected & just go with the crazy.

There was a lot of action in this book & it’s hard to say what happens without spoiling it, but be reassured that it’s Kitty & the gang at their very best.

My favorite secondary characters keep changing with every book & I love how everyone always makes an appearance & has a role to play. This series is truly one of my favorite series out there.

I font recommend reading this book out of order or you’ll be completely lost.

I’m counting down the days till the next one releases.

Gini Koch does it again! This series is a take on aliens on Earth that I had not seen before. They are, in many ways, just like humans. The majority of them are pacifistic, interested in peace and good will but are overshadowed by those that are incredibly violent and 'take over the world' minded. We have seen with previous novels, which I'll say for new readers that all build on the previous ones, that there are a lot of megalomaniacal people in bound and determined to end existence as we know to create their own 'utopia' of evil. Kitty is the leader of our group that stands in their way and does it successfully without really meaning to do more than just save the people she loves. Its why she's successful, why she often turns bad people good and why she now has four or five titles on Earth and is in charge of so much.

In Aliens Abroad, once again Kitty and her people are thrown into a situation they in no way caused but are willing to step up the plate and see where life takes them. It was really fun to follow the journey they are on, cruising the galaxy on multiple tasks to save the solar system as we know it. Ms. Koch must have had a REALLY fun time creating worlds and galaxies for them to visit and ultimately save. And I must agree with Kitty that the Clown Consortium galaxy is NOT one that I would like to visit!

So much is happening in this book that it's hard to describe, but all of it was fun, detailed and served the ultimate purpose of fixing past wrongs and setting up for future good. One thing I've never seen Ms. Koch do though is end a book in the middle of the trip. These novels are usually started and ended with Kitty summing up some of what happened before and telling readers about how things settled after all of the action was over. This one ends after many worlds and galaxies have been saved but still in the middle of the space voyage we find ourselves on. It was startling to realize that the book was over! Not that it wasn't long and wonderful though! Happy reading!!!

(by the way I received this as an ARC from Netgalley)

Kitty is back and once again, she storms through my world creating a complex but exhilarating adventure for me to get lost in.

Kitty and her unique and quirky crew find themselves on another adventure that provides lots of action, suspense, thrills, danger, drama and fun to keep readers well entertained from beginning to end. Also, who can get enough of meeting interesting new aliens, visiting awe inspiring worlds, dangerous adversaries that may or may not remain an adversary and of course delightful animals that add their own special twist to each and every story.

Aliens Abroad give readers a surprising journey right along with Kitty as the whole crew is taken unawares by … well I let you figure that one out for yourself as there are several suspects. The journey is fast paced, thrilling and full of fun as well as wonderful adrenaline pumping events that keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Gini Koch is such a wonderful storyteller as she paints vibrant images that make it easy for readers to become caught up in her fascinating world but she also has created such fun loving and quirky characters that readers never know what to expect from them at any given time which just adds to the overall suspense and spontaneity of the stories and certainly keeps readers on their toes. I enjoyed another exhilarating visit with Kitty and her fascinating world and I of course after that ending I am waiting on pins and needles to find out what happens next.

I can describe it only as boring.
The book looks like a single idea (Kitty and a lot of other people go on space, find out a nice utopian planet in distress, save the day and make new friends), not enough to substain a whole novel, so the single idea goes multiplied with minor nuances to fill six hundred pages.
To hide the repetitions, Kitty notices that there are repetitions, as to encapsulate them in the plot under the title "correct old wrongs".
To shorten the quests for any repetitions, all the "deus ex machinae" ever encountered in the previous books are present, even the power cubes.
What about the fails in science: a communication through the whole galaxy, with no perceptible delay, as it was a phone call? But you can not define the origin of the call for half the book.
Meeting a new alien race, from a planet whose "day" lasts twenty earth day, no idea how long their year might be, and they understand at once the distance defined as "a light year"?
At least, the warp is a given, not explained so no fail in explaining.
I can cut some slacks due to the fact this book is the 16th in the serie, the characters are/have become so powerful it is arduous to come up with something for them to strive to best.
I hope the next book will be more enjoiable, this one took me ten days to read it and I had to compel myself to reach the end.

Love this series. Have been rereading then in the hopes that the next book will be out sooner rather than later (and because this is such a fun action packed series).

Can't say much because, spoilers, but sufficed to say, this is a truly amazing series that gives you the sci-fi hit while not inundating you in heavy science. The books read very quickly, and the characters are numerous and memorable. Love the Poofs and the Peregrines 😍, and even the King of the AC Elves shows up - oh, and the beings and animals they come across in their adventures in this book are truly wonderous. If you're interested, you definitely need to begin at the start of the series, or you'll have difficulty navigating the battles, characters in jokes, and just about everything else.

Highly recommend 👍🏻

Style Consistent with Previous 15 Novels

I have read all the previous books in this series, (avidly) so I can say this one matches the set.

I recommend this series highly, but it is one long, continuous story, so start at the beginning and read in order. It is action, humor and broad parody rolled together in rollicking fun.

This volume brings together most of the characters who befriended Kitty in the previous adventures, so it could get confusing. The blend of characters is handled well, and the characters are so memorable that they don’t need much introduction unless you have not read the previous books.

I have just four words for you: GO READ THIS BOOK.

Katherine Kitty-Katt is a force to reckon with and her determination to save the world is why I enjoyed her character so much. It's a lot like a superhero comic where the character themselves is so invested in their cause that you can't help but be invested in it too. Not to mention, the main character is married woman who makes matrimony sexy - proving that it's not the end of Independence for a woman. If anything, she and Jeff were a power couple and I love how well they worked together while maintaining separate identities.

I’m serious, people. Aliens Abroad brought fresh elements to the science-fiction novel and it drew me in like the gravitational pull of a black hole. It’s the kind of story that left me anxiously chewing the inside of my cheek as my heart raced and I couldn’t (much to my own disdain) read fast enough. From the first page, I was tangled in the story and invested in all the characters. Nothing is more important than that for me, and it’s why I recommend you launch yourself into this book.

Book 16 Saving the Universe

Even though this series has become somewhat formulaic and a bit unwieldy with it's very large cast, it is still a fun read. Snarky clever wittacisms abound, along with rock and roll music titles which contain coded messages for Queen Kitty aka the First Lady of the USA. As usual, she's saving the Universe.

Lighthearted, humorous, fun read with an all inclusive message that we can get along together.

#16 of good series

With one exception, I like this story. The metal world is creative genius in action. The bad part is the beginning. The rest gives enough information that the long introduction is boring and unnecessary. Skip about 10 percent of book if you've read anything else in series.

my new favorite

OMG! this is so far the best of the series. the action didn't stop the whole way through to the teaser of the next. the book more than makes up for the overdue release date. while I'm bummed i have to wait until august for the next adventure, I'm hoping it's as creative and adventurous, as this one turned our to be.

Love, love, love this book! You'd think the story would slow down or become redundant after 16 books but Gini managed to keep it fun and interesting after all this time. Seeing Kitty and The Gang in space is a real treat and all of the new systems and people they meet on the way are equally as fascinating and exciting. I can't wait for the next one!

Another outstanding story.

If you have not read any of the Alien series, STOP! Turn around and go back and read any of the previous nine books you have not read. If not, you will miss most of the plot elements of this book or how they get to this point. That would be a real shame.

The cliffhanger ending is a killer. Read it anyway.

The story line is still interesting and there a lot of the familiar characters who each get a brief moment so we have a chance to say hello to our favorites.

I love the series but the book needs editing. I blame the publisher. The past couple books appear to bog down and this one is no exception. Sometimes it feels like I have read the same paragraph repeatedly over several pages.

I will continue with the series but hope the editing will improve.

A fun adventure story. Lots of little adventures happen when the gang is "kidnapped" by their spaceship. Lots of action/adventure. Lots of Kitty being Kitty and making fantastic mental leaps as to what's going on. Lots of humour (one liners, pop culture jokes). Kitty and Jeff also realise that their children are growing up just like them - ready to save the universe.

“Aliens Abroad” by Gini Koch is not my favorite of the Katherine “Kitty” Katt series, but I still love this series even at book 16. In this episode, Kitty and others, with their children, are kidnapped and taken on a galactic tour to save entire solar systems. They encounter many bizarre things and find that just about any and everything can be found in the cosmos.

Oh, wow, this book was so amazing! It was so epic-ly long, and so much happened, and it was such a great read! So many things happened, so many adventures! And that ending was just pure evil! I need the next book now!

An excellent new adventure; definitely worth waiting for!

I do so love this series and I will be sad once it's concluded.

But until then I shall be paciently waiting for the next book (Note: sarcasm dial is firmly set to six; I can be paciently but not gracefully so. ~_^).
