Deb Hockenberry gives us an adorable read in Where Can We Have the Party? Giraffe wants to throw a party for Chimpanzee and asks several other animals for ideas. Their ideas are fun but definitely don’t work out. This is a great children’s tale about friendship that teaches about animals and is sure to be loved by kiddos! Check this one out if you’re looking for a fun light-hearted read!

Where Can We Have the Party is a fun and entertaining book for kids. Early readers will enjoy reading this easy reader while younger children will be delighted to hear the story read to them. The colorful and creative illustrations will keep children engaged and turning pages as they anticipate the next part of the story.

Children love animals and will be enchanted as they read how the animals plan a surprise party for Chimpanzee. It will be a learning experience as children watch they animals solve the problems they encounter in planning where to have the party. I highly recommend this adorable book.

I received a mobi.file of this book from the author after requesting a copy to review it, and the following is my honest opinion.

If you’ve ever had to plan a birthday surprise party for a good friend, then allow your inner child to become the main protagonist, Giraffe, and your good friend is Chimpanzee. The first thing you’ll need to do it to find a place to party, and like you had found it somewhat problematical where to have it because of issues surrounding the suggestion you had gotten, so did Giraffe. Elephant had suggestion the river – no good, too wet. Monkey suggested his treehouse – no good, Giraffe wouldn’t be able to climb the tree. It wasn’t until Giraffe took a good look around and found a place where everyone would be able to have a great time enjoying being at Chimpanzee’s party.

This is a captivating, wonderfully illustrated story whose intention is giving its young readers a subliminal lesson regarding teamwork, working together with others so everyone would be able to have a good time. And it’s because of the teamwork of the author, Deb Hockenberry, and her illustrator, Emily Dimov-Gottshall, that I’ve given this book the 5 STARS it has gotten.

Giraffe wants to have a birthday party for Chimpanzee. Elephant, Monkey and Snake all make suggestions for where the party can be held, but Giraffe only gives the reasons why they won't work. They have to work together to find a place and set up the surprise party. This book has adorable illustrations which will delight young children!

Truly, there has been wonderful reviews for this storybook. I found them all to be of sound value. Yes, if you’re looking for a party fun time, check out this beauty. The festivities are kicking up behind these pages. I was highly impressed with the way this author laid out her storylines. It’s extremely well-written, and their pictures are colorfully illustrated. For sure, it’s a easy read and a fun one. Let’s not forget a great book for any child’s library of reading material.

Before you give your little one their party, you may want to purchase this book . . . to introduce them to the kingdom of animals. Then they too can be prepared to have just as much fun at their own special party day. Be careful now, that little one may ask you to invite one of these cute animals as the “highlight” of their party.

I wouldn’t be surprised if school librarians had this creation shelved among other story books . . . waiting to present during reading time. Kudos, to the author and her illustrator (Emily Dimov–Gottshall) for adding another educational and fun book to the children's’ literary circle.

This is a sweet little story for younger children. A group of animal friends wish to give a surprise birthday party but finding a venue is proving a problem.

Themes of kindness, fun, friendship and co-operation are central.

The pictures are in the ‘naïve’ style which children will readily identify with.

The font is large, clear and suitable for a beginner reader, but the story will also work as a read-aloud for a younger child.

Maybe the print-on-demand has slightly subdued the colours in the original pictures which has taken away some of the sharpness.

The characters are fun and quirky with strong expressions of emotion.

A happy ending saves the day.

We award 4 stars.

When Elephant wants to have a birthday party for his friend, Chimpanzee, he asks his animal friends for ideas where to have the party. After many suggestions from them, a solution is discovered.

This is a fun, sweet book for children 3-6 years old. It teaches them how to work together with others and how to find an answer to a problem.

The illustrations and characters are well-done, adorable, and colorful. The story sweeps the reader and child away to the Hungle Bungle Jungle Park and a joyful read.

Have you ever thought about doing something nice for a friend? Would it be something that makes your friend happy? What would you do? This is what Giraffe thinks about while he's playing with his friends. He decides to have a party for his friend, Chimpanzee. Where will he have the party? Hmmm...

In this short picture book, your child will be entertained by the antics and the ideas of the talking animals in Hungle Bungle Jungle as they help Giraffe think of where they can have the party. This book not only entertains, but teaches problem-solving, friendship, loyalty, and kindness.
