In fact, he wants to teach her a lesson that will leave a lasting impression on her. But when it's all said and done, why can't he leave behind the one woman he can't stand? Rayne Sampson is a beautiful woman who has men throwing themselves at her feet with one bat of her eye lashes. She is a woman that men write sonnets about, but she isn't happy. Can she ignore the way her body yearns for his touch long enough to prove her point? Fighting each other, the passion between them ignites, leaving them both burning. Will they survive -the lesson- Chad sets out to teach her? Or will they both be incinerated before they reach the end of the line? Sometimes facing defeat is the only way to find yourself redeemed.

Redeemed is the second book in the Love Seekers series by Maria Vickers and follows the story of Rayne "The Bitch" Sampson and Chad Alexander. It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend you to read Exposed, the first book in the series.

"She might be beautiful, but her heart is as black as sin."

Rayne Sampson, beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside. She detests anyone with a disability, believing them to be frauds; so when her brother marries Emma, who has a disability, she refuses to accept her in her life, creating a rift in the relationship with his brother that will not only affect her relationship with her whole family but the rest of her life.

"She was flawed and I would break her."

Chad Alexander is a playboy that leads a life full of ease and fun. He has no problem in the women department, so why can he stop thinking about Rayne? Because he loathes her, right? She gets under his skin, and makes him desire her more than any other woman he has ever known. Fighting the attraction he feels toward her, and focusing on the hate for the way she treats her sister, Emma and anyone else who she thought less of, he decides it's time to play doctor and give her a dose of her own medicine.

description

As they begin to spend time together something shifts. Fighting each other, the passion between them ignites, leaving them both burning. Chad starts believing that there is more going on under the surface with Rayne that might explain her attitude.

"How ironic. I wanted her to learn her lesson, hated her even, and now I prayed for a miracle."

description

I was looking forward to this story as I loved exposed, but more than that, I wanted to know more about Rayne. It's not a secret that I hated the girl, if you read Exposed you will understand why. It was really hard to get past her in the beginning, but I kept reading...

I didn't stop hating her till at least half the book. She wasn't your typical heroine, she was a total mean girl. She was arrogant, despicable, but the hints of vulnerability made my heart crack, the more I got, the more my heart opened for her.

This book is not just an enemies to lovers romance, or a second chance to love romance. It's more than that. It's a second chance to life. It's a reminder that we are more than our pasts and our reputations. And that being judgemental usually hurts those who judge far more than the judged.

Another beautifully written story by Maria Vickers. Just like with the first book in this series, I ended up happy crying.

Can't wait for the next one!

I was looking forward to this story as I loved exposed but, I'm embarrassed to admit I mixed up Chad and Ethan, as I started to read, but soon discovered Chad was the BBQ Friend that welcomed Emma in Exposed. I am relieved to know Ethan is getting a book. We get to visit with Brian and Emma, Mel and Luke (I love when authors toss the already read characters story lines into the new book). Chad is a hot sexy physical guy. He runs his own design business and Works PT as a trainer. He to me reminds me of Agua man, all tan and golden floowing locks. But, he seems himself as Colossus from X-Men hard as steel, in all the right places.. Rayne is Brian's younger more spoiled sister. Her parents tend to placate her more then put her in her
place. Chad takes that upon himself to give her an adittude adjustment. Knock her down a peg. and after the way she treats Emma, and others I 'm all for it, excited even to see her fall. but everything isn't always what it seems. Can a manwhore who's heart is in the right place and A I'm all that and a bag of chips queen of Sheba find redemption in each other or fail miserably?

This is the second book in the Love Seekers series and follows the lives of Rayne Sampson and Chad Alexander. Rayne is Bryan's sister (from Exposed, the first book - have you read it yet? You really should) and Chad who fell for Emma (now married to Bryan - are you still with me?) and for whom he still harbours deep feelings. I loved Chad in 'Exposed' and was very excited to discover that he gets his own story.

Rayne is a total witch, she hates everyone, well actually she hates Emma and everything spills out from there. She is so hateful that she makes the Wicked Witch of the West seem like the best ever fairy godmother. She detests anyone with a disability, believing them to be frauds and her greatest wish is that Bryan will divorce Emma. This vitriol is not contained within her family circle; it has become so ingrained, that it's affecting the rest of her life, which is rapidly spiralling out of control.

Chad hates Rayne. He hates how she gets away with her petulant, spoiled behaviour, he hates the way treats Emma and anyone else who suffers from any form of disability, including his own sister, and is determined to teach her a lesson. So he comes up with a plan, at the same time that Rayne decides Chad needs taking down a peg or two...and so begins the dance.

Every time they meet they fight and their verbal battles are doozies, but as they begin to spend time together something shifts. There is more going on under the surface with Rayne, something that Chad believes might explain her attitude, but her shell is very hard and she is too proud to let anyone get close enough to soften it. To add to the mix, someone at Rayne's place of work is trying to undermine her, sending Rayne's stress levels through the roof and it seems the one person who might be able to help her is Chad.

This book carried me away on a tidal wave of emotions. Rayne's torment and anger is a tangible thing but although she infuriated me there was always a hint of vulnerability that made my heart crack. Chad, despite his womanising ways, is a true gentleman and even when he is furious with her, he still worries about her as she slowly self-destructs. The more time they spend together they more they begin to realise that hate and love are indeed separated by a very fine line which, of course, they cannot possibly cross.

This book is also a not so subtle reminder that not every disability is obvious, that being judgemental usually hurts those who judge far more than the judged and that more often than not, the nightmares of the past refuse to stay buried. Life is messy, fairy tales are usually rather grim and happy endings often have a tendency to creep up, entirely unexpectedly, and smack us in the face. This is how it is with Chad and Rayne, their journey is hard and they face what seem like insurmountable obstacles on the way. After so much hostility, pain and despair do they stand a chance of, or even deserve, redemption?

Beautifully written with a cast of engaging and gutsy characters, whose lives are inextricably entwined - whether they like it or not. I loved Redeemed. An easy 5 stars!

Redemption is possible! :-)

This is definitely a 4.5 star read! I read the first book in the series, Exposed, previously, but you don't need to have read it first. Still, at least as of this review, the book is free, and I highly recommend that book. It's really good and worth the money. It's a wonderful, satisfying and sweet romance. This one is different in some ways, but still just as satisfying. This second book explains everything you need to know from the first book, so you don't need to read it first.

This book focuses on Chad and Rayne. They've known each other for a while, since Rayne is Chad's best friend's little sister. If you like that kind of romance, there's a dash of it in here. But mostly, this is an enemies to lovers romance, in fine form. It's mentioned that there is a fine line between love and hate, and you see it in this novel. Chad hated Rayne's guts, focusing on her throughout the novel. He's a muscle-bound manwhore who finds his own redemption in Rayne as she discovers more about him. She is a piece of work. I freely admit to hating her after Exposed, and if you haven't read Exposed, you'll still really hate her in the beginning of this novel. And you will continue to do so for at least half the book. But just like Chad, there are redeeming qualitues to her, and you'll find out everything in the book. Even if it's really hard to get past her in the beginning, keep reading. It'll be worth it. I promise. I found by the end that I understood and liked her. Not everyone will like her, but I think you'll at least understand her better. Both of them in the beginning really bugged me for similar reasons, because both needed to be brought down a peg or two. But as the book progresses, things change. The sexual attraction was always there between them, ignored. It sparked and sizzled when they finally gave in.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I had been so excited when I heard about this book, to see what happened to Rayne, and for an enemies to lovers story. It delivered on both counts. The editing in this book was better than Exposed, with fewer grammar errors and in general. The story flowed well, and had a lot happening. I highly recommend reading it!

Note: I received an ARC of this story, but I also bought the book because I was super excited for it. It was well worth the money, and I think you'll find it to be as well!

What a roller coaster ride this story was!

Rayne isn't excited about her brothers nuptials to Emma. She would do anything to be able to stop them. You see, Emma has a disease that has left her disabled, but in Rayne's experience, you can't trust people who use that as an excuse. This has obviously put a strain on her relationship with her brother and subsequently the group of friends and family they know. Because everyone LOVES Emma and they think Rayne is being irrational.

Chad has had enough of Rayne and her low opinion of Emma. He sets out on a mission to teach her a lesson, by setting her up and letting her fall flat on her face...and she would deserve it 100%. But along the way, things change and he sees her for who she truly is and his plans go astray.

So many great things about this book! My emotions were all over the place and I could not put it down!

I am giving Redeemed 5 stars because the qualities in a read that I need to have were all there. I laughed a little and cried a lot. There was a little bit of mystery and a lot of drama. And at the end it was all wrapped up in a sweet little bow!

Redeemed is the second book in the Love Seekers series, but can be read as a standalone. Redeemed is totally worth the time it takes to read it. I finished this book in about 2 days...and that was because I had to adult a little in between.

You won't be disappointed in the read!

This is the second book I've read by Maria Vickers, the first being the previous book in this series.
This is the first time I have had such strong emotions for a leading female character, the emotion being loathing. What a nasty creature she is. The story was a little bit on the predictable side but I must admit that I struggled to hold in the tears towards the end of the book. Chad is adorable and could win anyone over with his words and actions. Rayne, hmm I am not a fan. I am too stubborn to change my opinion of someone when they have spent the better part of two books making my blood boil with her vicious hatred of anyone disabled. No excuses, nope!

Rayne is going about her life with a stick up her derrière, not afraid to give her opinion of disgust towards her sister-in-laws (and anyone elses) disability. According to her she is faking it! She is openly hostile and can't understand her brother loving someone 'like that .'
Chad has known Rayne for years, he is best friends with her brother, Bryan. He decides to try and teach Rayne a lesson in humility.
Is he fighting a losing battle?
You'll have to read this to find out.

Redeemed 4.5⭐️

Redeemed is the second book in the Love Seekers Series but can be read as a stand alone. I hadn't read the first book so had never met the characters before.

Rayne is a real bitch! On the outside she is stunning but on the inside she is ugly and discriminates against young, disabled people, mainly her brothers new wife Emma.
Chad, Rayne's brothers friend who is also very close with Emma decides to give Rayne an attitude transplant and teach her a lesson.
The pair hate each other, but there is a thin line between love and hate. Can they get over the hate and find love together?

To begin with I thought the story was a bit slow and I wasn't sure it could grasp my attention but the more I read the more hooked I got. As the story developed I started to really feel sorry for Rayne and knew there had to be a reason for her being such a bitch. Other than her discriminations I actually liked her as a character and I loved Chad.
By the time I got to the end of the book there had been tears, cheesy grins and a wee swell of my heart.
Such a beautiful book and an eye opening story.

Wow.....this book has a major bitch for the main character! She's awful, vile, morally unhinged and someone you truly start out hating!!! A book full of drama, tense emotions and a fire passion, you really do relate to the characters and have utter contempt.....great touch!

How on earth Chad can see through Rayne's exterior is beyond me. There is not one thing redeeming about her and Karma is totally being served but she gains a hot guy in the process!

I read this book without reading 'Exposed' but got a atrong enough sense that she was more than a handful and made life hell for Emma and Bryan in that book. There are several references to the previous books but without being off putting.

The first half of the book has you thinking that this poor man has gone mad and really not liking where it is going then the second half kicks in.

You suddenly start to understand the complexity of Rayne but it still doesn't excuse her personality! It does exactly what it says on the tin.....she is redeemed.

I enjoyed the book in parts where I didn't want too and recommend the read!

I read this book as an ARC for 2 girls who love books blog in return for an honest review.

Redeemed is the second book in the Love Seekers Series and the first book I have read by this author. Chad and Rayne did not like each other, in fact, no one cared for Rayne. She was a person who had so much anger within her, she lashed out at everyone. Chad decides he will give this woman an attitude adjustment, but as he does this, he discovers the secret she was hiding and he falls in love. As their love deepens, they redeem each other. I loved this book. There was sexual tension but when it happened, it was explosive. I am looking forward to reading the first book, Exposed.

Josie's Review 4.5 Stars

This is the second book in the Love Seekers series and oh what a book it was! Like the first book in this series the author has a message she puts out there, so pay attention. I think the reason why I enjoy reading books from this author so much is, because she takes readers behind what we see from their characters, and gives readers a real story, no matter how ugly it is.

In the first book, Rayne was not a character I liked at all, I felt there was no way this author could redeem her or even make me like her. Well let’s just say we still see Rayne’s ugly side in this book but we also learn a lot more about this complexed character. I loved Chad in the first book but I can say I am more in love with him after this one. He hates how Rayne is and hates how she gets away with hurting so many people. His plan is simple bring Rayne down a few notches but the problem with his plan is Rayne has the same idea.

These characters are something else. You think they’d be the last people on earth to fall in love but love is a tricky thing. They fight more than my kids do and that’s saying something. I loved how the author doesn’t give readers a fast resolution to these characters, we get a story that literally took my breathe away. The more Chad and Rayne spent together the more we undercover the truth about Rayne. I really loved how Chad and Rayne discover love and form a strong bond.

This book teaches us how sometimes people hide behind their actions trying to escape the real nightmares that plague their nights. Chad and Rayne’s journey is hard and harsh, there is so much pain and torment but somehow together they come out on top. I really enjoyed this book and loved how these two characters unfold through the pages in this book. Incredibly written.

I received this book free from the author. I am voluntarily choosing to review it. I just could not understand why Rayne felt as she did about the disabled. And I could not understand why Chad was infatuated with her because of that attitude! He wanted to teach her a lesson, but I feel they both learned one. I found this to be a really good story because you did not know what was going to happen next. This book really played on my emotions. I went from laughing to crying and everything in between. This was my first book by Maria Vickers and I really enjoyed it, and I plan to read more from this author.

A heroine you wants to slap!

The story of Rayne and Chad makes you wonder if there is hope for them as a couple. I had to read this book in small doses not because the book is bad but because I wanted to throat punch Rayne for her hateful behavior. I questioned Chad’s sanity in trying to teach Rayne that her biased and hateful feelings and remarks toward those who are disabled were going to be her downfall. Chad learned a few things about himself along the way and found his redemption on top of love for Rayne.

Unfortunately this story fell a bit flat for me. Two adults behaving like young teenagers nearly the whole time with a love story that came a bit abrupt in the end and a heroine not quite believable in her actions... the last one was way deeper. But still, I'll read the next one in the series because basically it was a good story.

I liked Redeemed but not as much as Exposed. I did not really connect with Rayne. I understood what made her feel the way she did but I think the story resolved a little too easy for the amount of animosity she felt towards people with disabilities. Overall a good story. I look forward to the 3rd book in the series.

This is the second book in this series. In this book you will find that everything is possible. This is Chad and Rayne's book. They clashed with each other at the beginning. Rayne is the person that you will want to hate. While Chad is a playboy, is very sexy, and hot.  As they get to know each other. They redeem each other and the love deepens too. I was hooked from the very beginning until the end.  Maria did an awesome job with the storyline and the characters. Can't wait to read your next book in this series. Keep up the awesome job Maria! I highly recommend this series.

Chad fell in love but lost the woman to one of his best friends. Well, she wasn't his to begin with but he fell for her and lost her none the less. What made her special was her heart, yes she is beautiful, but most people can not get past her disability. One of those people is Rayne, her new sister in Law and the one person Chad is determined to show up.
Rayne, has a secret that she has never told anyone and it is the reason for her hatred of those that "claim" to have a disability. What she can't understand is how her brother and his best friend fell for it so easily. Now Chad is showing her attention that A~ She doesn't want and B~ She is falling for.
Can they find they way to the love they share, while fighting the people they are on the inside?
His plan was to break her, he never planned to be the one to fall.
Perfect!

This book is definitely for mature audiences. There is a lot of language and sexual references. I rarely read books that have this much profanity and vulgarity.

However, due to the book themes and the development of characters, I think this book is worth reading all the way through. I really loved how my perspective of Rayne continued to change throughout the book. At first, she seemed so shallow in her point of view, but I began to pick up on hints that what seems obvious is really hiding something. I began to feel bad for her and was eager to fully understand what trauma she faced in her past to make her who she was. I also agreed with her about how frustrating it was no one else would listen to her about why she had her opinions. It is a reminder that in this world, there is no black and white. Even though someone may act "evil," there are always hidden aspects of their life that affected their outward actions. And the best part of this book is watching Rayne be able to recognize, seek help, and be "redeemed" from her binding past.

Rayne is so full of resentment, that it makes a witch, and she hates everyone, especially her brother's new wife, Emma, and has no issues letting her know. However, while she's making everyone's life miserable, her life is also quickly spiraling out of control. Chad fell for Emma, and even though she's Bryan's now, he still has deep feelings. So he hates Rayne with a passion, and is determined to teach her a lesson. Every time they're near each other their fights turn explosive, but even with this insane situation, the more time they spend together fighting, something is shifting. OMG, my dramatic emotions flew everywhere while reading this story. Rayne drove me crazy until her rage layers were peeled away, and Chad, with all of his manwhoring ways, was still somehow a sensitive soul. Together they exploded with sparks, and their fights were off the charts intense! Maria Vickers has a talented writing style that drew in quickly, transporting me into her world, and I didn't want to leave it. Bottom line, I LOVED LOVED LOVED Redeemed, and cannot wait to see what she puts out next! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
