Okaaaaaay... so this book... it gave me a lot of sensations when I started reading it on 2018/19. Like I legit took a class off just to finish this damn book because I got hooked. I savored every moment Wade and Raelynn had and oh so i was enjoying it!! It's literally one of my fave books (tho I like the sequel more).

Now onto the reread.

I reread this book hours ago, specifically at 4 am in the morning right after it was republished by the author. Take note I read this first when I was like 15 and I'm rereading it now that I'm 19 so you do the math. There's a lot of things I noticed that are now quite yikes to me like lord, pls.

1) Maddy is so fucking annoying
Spoiler Alert: She is worse than Wade
Maddy is Raelynn's cousin and I surely still remember she was the most annoying character ever in this book. She gives me that annoying and bad fictional best friend vibes like Ahn in the Love Hypothesis. She really bugs me tf off because:
- She DOESN'T respect Raelynn's wishes. She has no sense of decency nor respect towards her cousin. All she knows in her dense fucking air head is "[hot boy's name] is so hot!!!" Then she proceeds to matchmake Raelynn with Wade even though Raelynn doesn't want to be discovered as Ronald Wesley's daughter.
- She gets fking berserk at Wade when Raelynn got into an accident when she is the literal sole reason why Raelynn and Wade were a matchmade from hell. Gurl please, pick a struggle. As much as Wade is also to blame coz he's a coward, Maddy has no sense of guilt when Raelynn got into an accident. She always blames ANYONE but her.
- To summarize, I hate her. Period.

1) Wade is actually problematic and it took me 4 years to realize lol
Wade is the typical "bad boy" of the book, a playboy, academically unserious, and has some past issues. At first I was like "oh i luv wade so much best boy ever <33" til i realized im wrong and Wade is a large asshole.

"My plan was to get her drunk and make her talk her heart out to me to better understand my awareness of her and if by taking her to my place can make her spend some time with me then I am going to do it. I don't have an explanation for starting this fiasco in the first place and everything is happening on instinct so there's no reason behind my acts of extreme bullshit-ness."

UHM???? *calls 911* Guy is literally a sicko when he basically admitted it was made from his instincts and not on rationale holy cow.

I don't care if she doesn't want to see me, I want to see her and she doesn't get to say anything.

UGH anyways u guys be the judge .

1) The terminologies and descriptions used in the racing scenes are forced
Ever since becoming a Formula One fan last April, I get to comprehend at least some physics in driving cars and supercars. Now rereading this especially the race scenes, I don't get a lot from it and it looks like the author just threw a bunch of car terminologies into a manuscript then poof! Cool racing girlboss yass! Well, no.
- Raelynn *skids* A LOT when it should've been drifting.
- She was ALWAYS in high speed. She would've lost with the fuel abuse gurl she literally propels A LOT. Even with the turns, it's always on HIGH SPEED. It doesn't make any sense at all.
- Should've specified she's stepping on the gas PEDAL instead of just gas.
- "Yanked the stick" Stick???

I don't have all the time to criticize the book but if there's one thing I really REALLY love about this book... it's Raelynn. She, Lisa, (and somehow) Parker are the only sensible characters here in this book. The rest... meh.

I really loved this one. The writing gets better with each book. And aside from some typos and spelling there are not many problems with this book. I can't wait to read the sequel.
Wade and Rae have really bad luck when it comes to their relationship but I hope everything will get better in the sequel because I am shipping them so much.

I loved this book when I first read it in like 2015(?) and I have reread it like at least once every year until 2021 and now I can’t find any of her books on Wattpad. Is there another place that they are posted? This is definately one of my all time favourites!

To be completely and utterly honest, I loved this book right from the start till it's end! (Yes even the End). Even though it was given a tragic ending -which makes it more realistic of course - the way the book was written and the way the leads' feelings were written, literally used to give me goosebumps. I waited for every chapter to come out just so I could understand the characters better. Very well written, the author's other books are equally good. I love her works. :)

Ughh I want to hate the author for the very tragic ending at the same time the intensity of it all was soooo amazing. Can't wait for the sequel I really need a happy ending for these two.
