I learned a few things
I have been a PS Jack for several years now, Googling how to script basic stuff. A co-worker was a solid coder. I understood his scripts, what they did, and how, but some of the commands & variables left me bewildered. This book is merchandising it enlightened me to some of the mysteries of my coworkers scripts. Your not going to be a PS wiz after this book, but it's not a bad start.

Not completely useless
I was attracted to this book by all the positive reviews, but now that I've read the book, I have to wonder if the good reviews are all fake. They all say "verified purchaser" but they all read as if they're written by the same non-native English speaker and all within a couple of weeks of each other. The book was free for awhile and maybe that's when "they" all "purchased" the book.
In any case, I found that the book's explanations are abbreviated--like someone who was trying to demonstrate their knowledge instead of teaching it--and often non-sensical. The organization and writing confusing to a PowerShell beginner, I think.
I learned a couple of things I didn't know before, which is why I say the book isn't completely useless, but it's not worth $2.

Excellent beginner Powershell book the seasoned IT professional
Excellent starter material. Brief yet enough explanation for IT professionals getting started with Powershell. Good background information.
Numerous typos in text and a few code typos but, still excellent resource.
