From one of our most respected shamanic teachers, a blueprint for happiness which interweaves practical teachings, history, anecdote and ancestral wisdom. Alongside consciousness, meditation and mindfulness, shamanism, with its vision of the interconnectedness of all life, is undergoing an unprecedented revival in the western world. With personal stories from the author's 35-year study of shamanism and the earth-wisdom teachings, and clear, practical tools, this book offers a path leading to the transformation of ourselves, of our reality and consequently the course of our lives. It is a life-changing message from the heart of shamanism.

Chris Luttichau shares his teachings on shamanism and earth-based spirituality in workshops and ongoing training groups through the Northern Drum Shamanic Training Centre. He also leads wilderness expeditions.

Loved the sentiment of animals and nature and this resonated greatly whilst reading this book with an open mind and curiosity...enjoyable read if you have ever felt nature- mountains, rivers, animals, trees etc inexplicably always calling and healing.

This book is not one of those that I would not pick up anytime of the day and start reading. This book has a different vibe to it. One has to be in that zone to understand this. The concepts mentions are too deep, which aims at human revolution and laws of the nature.

A good read, to understand oneself and bringing oneself back 'home'..

This book is life changing. Really opens your mind up to the deeper connections with nature, spirit, and the whole. I will absolutely be re reading this book in the future and practicing the meditation guides within.

I have always had an interest in the spiritual practices of different cultures but a wariness of cultural appropriation and some New Age approaches to spirituality, so I approached Chris Luttichau’s book on shamanism with a healthy degree of scepticism.

An exploration of the place of shamanism in the modern world, he adopts an approach which references anthropology, neuroscience, quantum theory, spirituality and personal experience. Earth Wisdom is a principle tenet uniting many cultures across time and continents and is as relevant today as it ever has been. Anyone with an interest in Earth Wisdom will find this book invaluable.

Combining historical context with practical meditations, Luttichau has produced a handbook that allows readers to participate in shamanic rituals whilst never pretending to be a do-it-yourself guide to being a shaman. Just as you don’t have to be a Tibetan monk to benefit from meditation, so you do not have to be a practising shaman to benefit from the contents of this book and the exercises it contains. Western society doesn’t value stillness and silence but the ability to still the mind is integral to shamanic practice and can benefit all of us, regardless of our beliefs.

This book is not for everyone but if you have an open mind and an interest in Earth Wisdom and shamanism, I would thoroughly recommend this inspirational and thought-provoking volume which I know I shall be returning to again and again.
