This is a short book that is the introduction to a series about the Forsaken Riders MC. Though I liked the characters in the book, it is really short and so, of course, contains an instant romance. I hope to read more of the series and see some longer plots and more developed characters.
Jo and Kirsten are off on one of their annual adventures. They are driving through the desert at night when suddenly a lot of motorcycles come up behind them and pass around them, turning off into the desert and disappearing. Kirsten is frightened, Jo is elated.
Jo has had a bad year. Not a whole lot of detail except that she was tricked by a man and ending up losing everything, including her job. She is searching for a meaning for her life. She wants to feel again. When the motorcycles appear and then disappear, she is suddenly sure that this is the place she needs to be. But why?
Tanner is a member of the Forsaken Riders. These are his brothers, his family. He loves his life, but there is something missing. He needs a woman to share it with, and not the painted women that hang out at the biker bar hoping to snare a man. He wants more. When he sees Jo in the convertible, driving through the desert in the middle of the night he gets a funny feeling that he should get to know her, but how?
The girls end up stuck in the little town near the MC clubhouse when their they have car trouble. Tanner and another MC member show up and tow the car to be fixed. Tanner can't believe his luck, there she is. Jo asks where is a good place to hang out in town. He, of course, tells her he will meet her at the local biker hangout that night for a drink. I will let you read the rest for yourself.
