A brief, but telling memoir by a senior general in the Saddam Hussein regime. Georges Sada was an air force general who stood out from the rest of Saddam's clique by being a Christian Assyrian and a non-Baath Party member. His memoirs were published in 2006 and I suspect part of his motivation was to assist public opinion of the American occupation at that time. That said, Saddam certainly was evil and Sada does not need to exaggerate about his reign of terror. Sada feared for his life and his family's safety on many occasions but considers himself lucky that he survived the dictator.

A good read from the point of one of Saddam's close generals. The amount of hurt caused by his greed and ego is just shocking. Also good to learn about the diversity of the middle east
