If you are looking for pure academic research, this is not the book for you. This books contains summaries of the history of psychology, psychology experiments and psychological conditions and disorders.
However, this book is a rather good introduction to all things psychology. The author does not go very in-depth into the mechanisms of how psychological phenomena occur, but enough detail is given to entice the reader to go read further about specific topics if they would wish to do so.
The writing style is easy to understand, succinct and not full of too much jargon.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wishes to gain more insight about how psychological research developed into what it is today. This is mainly why I picked up this book and it served its purpose well.
