Nu Alpha Omega

Rate this book
God’s only daughter is now the big woman on campus. Surviving Greek life will take a miracle…

Jessica McCloud can’t wait to step out from her father’s shadow. Freshman year at Texas State University seems like the perfect place for the daughter of God to make a fresh start. As Jessica welcomes the anonymity, she asks a question with more weight for her than most: Does God really exist after all?

When a frat party scandal puts her relationship with Chris in jeopardy, Jessica seeks out like-minded students for a sense of belonging. Starting her own sorority seems like a perfectly harmless use of her divine abilities. Until the hazing takes her heavenly college experience to a new level of hell…

Reader, PMS survivor, Texan, satirist, author of the Jessica Christ series and the Kilhaven Police series, podcaster, blogger and oversharer.

Send me book recommendations for humor, psychology/sociology (criminal is the most fun), indie publishing, artificial intelligence (not too technical; I'm an English major FFS), or marketing. Bonus points if you recommend something that's all of the above.

I read fantasy, sci-fi, and lit fic unless someone pushes it on me, at which point I rebel and make sure to never read that title. I don't understand it either.

Being local to San Marcos and a TSU Alum, I especially enjoyed the recognizable landmarks, traditions, and themes that were pervasive though this volume of Jessica Christ's life. The exploration of existential crises that affect everyone from time to time are satirically called out in this coming of age comedy.

3.5 stars. I really have enjoyed this series- such a needed fun diversion from the nonfiction I tend to read. This fourth installment of the series follows Jessica through college life- it was a little too long/ could have used some editing, but other than that, still amusing, quirky, funny and a great continuation of the characters this author has made me love and want to follow for all the books to come.

Now that Jessica is finally grown up the humor is funnier than ever before and the questions she asks about her life are more interesting. I am eagerly looking forward to book 5!

Maybe not the funniest of the four, this is definitely the best written and the most compelling story. I'm really looking forward to book five. Keep up the great work, H.!

So clever

Jessica McCloud has some very collegiate experiences in this one. She is on her way to embracing herself as Jessica Christ.

It's been a while since I read books 1-3 of this series, which I've done two or three times. I'd been putting off continuing the series for a while, as I didn't have money to buy them, and I read almost exclusively in KU. But I discovered today that the series is in KU, so I decided to take a whack at continuing it.

I quite liked it. Jessica is growing up. Her dating adventures were interesting. God is the highlight of the books. He's hilarious! It was fun and interesting to see Jess making new friends and trying new things. Although I have to say, her whole "am I crazy and just imagining all of this stuff?" tangent got kind of annoying after a while. Glad that finally cleared up. The Courtney changing thing was kind of nice. Kate and Judith were cool, although of the two I like Judith better.

Also, I liked that Jimmy Dean and the other irritating guy weren't really present in this book. It was a nice change of pace, and let Jess grow up a bit more uninfluenced.

I look forward to seeing what Jess does in the future!

A really enjoyable series

I am really enjoying reading this series. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do when I first started reading the first book. Jessica's conversations with her "father" are hilarious. Then in pops her half brother, Jesus, whenever she finds herself in a "compromising situation". You really need to read this series to get the real feel of the book. I also recommend starting at book one as references in each book mention something that happened in a previous book. I can't guarantee that Jessica won't smite you if you don't.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the 3rd book, so I was feeling trepidation when I picked up this one - I LOVED this book. I enjoyed the minimal involvement of Jimmy, since I was a little tired of that back and forth (though I know he'll be back). I really enjoyed Jessica's growth and watching her question if she actually is God's daughter. This was a really fun book and I'm so excited to read book 5.

Interesting premise

An interesting premise but doesn’t deliver. I only got 10% through before setting it aside as it reads as a “Valley Girls” serial novelette. I was hoping * for something in the same vein as Terry Pritchett; this isn’t it.

What a very original and very funny coming of age series! I love it! I can’t say that this book is better than the last because each book is wonderful. If you are looking for a different down to earth kind of humor start reading this series. You will be hooked!

i loved the DMB references. Every fan should realize that that's where she was going before she even mentioned them by name. Hilarious.

I love this series. It's fun and funny, but probably only for those who believe God has a great sense of humor. ;-)

As good as any of the rest of the series to date

A great continuation of the last book, anything else would be a spoiler, so I'm not saying anything else.
Other than, its gripping.

It just goes to show that some people were just born to write....
