The newest student in school, Little Goat, comes along and Troll sees the perfect opportunity to do what he loves to do the most. Terrified Little Goat manages to get away from Troll and save his briefcase, after telling him about his bigger brother, with the bigger briefcase. When Little Goats bigger brother trotted along with his bigger briefcase, he also nervously manages to escape Troll with his briefcase, after informing him about his even bigger brother. However, when their biggest brother comes along, Troll is in for a big surprise. ‘The Three Billy Goats’ Stuff!’ is a lovely twist on the traditional story of the ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’. The book is a great way of introducing the subject of bullying to young children, perfect for ks1. A useful book with interesting pictures and a lovely underlying moral, which children will take away with them and remember.
A wonderful play on The Three Billy Goats Gruff! Here the bully troll demands stuff from all the other students. The first billy goat says he only has 9 pennies, so why doesn't the troll wait for his bigger brother. The bigger brother says he only has 19 pennies and a notebook, so why doesn't the troll wait for the biggest brother who has lots and lots of pennies. So the troll waits, and when the biggest brother comes along, we're all in for a surprise.
Nice re-tellling of The Billy Goats Gruff with the anti-bullying message that is so popular now. A great lead in to telling the classic tale and then discussing similarities and differences. How would the reader handle the Troll?
