The team of people at the Rossler Foundation had two mottos:

One: Our present circumstances will not determine where we will go; it will merely dictate where we will start.

Two. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

During The Phoenix Agenda, when John Brideaux, took over control of the world and established his One World Government, a tyranny the likes of which the world had never seen, the Rosslerites went into hiding and refused to accept the loss of their freedom.

Under the leadership of Daniel and Sarah Rossler, through sheer brilliance, hard work, and perseverance, the Rosslerites topple the evil John Brideaux and his Supreme Council. The Rosslerites had given the people of the world a new lease on life, with hopes and dreams of restoring their lives in peace and quiet.

But they soon find that their euphoria would be fleeting, as two malevolent forces are already at work to return the world to the frightening nightmare from which it had just escaped.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

After reading book 6 I was starting to think that book 7 would be the end of the series, instead it ends on a cliff hanger, and what a cliff hanger it is! Not sure when book 8 will be coming out, but it won't be soon enough for me.

This book moved right along and kept my interest all the way through it, there was just the right amount of suspense for me, I particularly enjoyed the psychological warfare, and I really enjoyed "meeting" Eighth Cycle people.

This is book seven in the Rossler Foundation Mystery series and follows closely on from the events of the previous book, The Phoenix Agenda, when a man called John Brideaux and his followers took control of the world, using ancient technology gained from a secret location. They killed most of those in the secret installation and took their healing machine, turning it into a totally evil purpose, which led to millions around the world dying. The people of the Rossler Foundation went into hiding and refused to accept loss of freedom as their only way of living. The tyrant in charge of his One World Government needed bringing down and soon if the world was to survive.

Alongside the main story, is that of some ancient beings, one group who are creating warriors from ancient tech, the others, survivors of these beings and in another location, watching what is happening in the modern world and wondering who or if they should try and help.

The leaders of the Rossler Group, Daniel and Sarah Rossler, and their colleagues, managed to eventually topple John Brideaux and his minions and this book deals with them taking them into custody and deciding where to keep them until they can be transferred to an international court. Others in the world want these evil men to be killed on the spot, but since Brideaux is American, the American President wanted them held in the States until they could be put on trial.

There is not much of the American Government left and a new President has to be sworn in and quickly, so the people can have hope of a new lease on life and an end to the lack of food, work and living conditions they struggled with under Brideaux. The country is in turmoil and supply lines are non-existent, there is no trade with the rest of the world and gangs have taken over lots of cities. The succession order is followed and the first female President is put in place and sworn in. Unfortunately, one of her generals and part of the government is a very sexist man, putting himself in the place of the president and not accepting easily that she is in charge!

He leads a coup on the White House and ousts the president and puts himself in place as the new president, having a large following in the military and out in the crowds outside, with all his promises of what he will do for them. The new Vice-President is soon black balled and held to blame for everything that occurred when Brideaux took over the world. He and his group found the ancient tech and let it fall into that man’s hands and the general uses that to discredit the actions of the Vice President and his promises.

Soon there are attacks on all sides and chaos is coming to this new world situation. There are two major forces looking to return the world to the nightmare it has only just been recovered from and Daniel and the Rossler Group are key to trying to stop this from happening. There are lots of secret passages from the White House, old monorail and tunnel systems, many known of from real modern history, and secret underground bunkers and hiding places for some to use to keep safe from the dangers all around them.

A great adventure and whilst I haven’t managed to read most of the other books in this series, I didn’t feel like I had missed out on too much information to enable me to follow this storyline. Yes, I would love to read all the books and read them in order, but that doesn’t always happen. The Rossler group and the characters in it are an interesting mix. The ancient beings are a mixed bunch, some with world domination on their minds, whilst the others are willing to see how advanced the modern people are, what they are doing and only intervene if necessary.

I will have to go back and catch up with the others in the series and look forward to the next one as well. I received an ARC copy of this book from Hidden Gems and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Rather than review just this one book, I’d like to comment on the whole series. The Rossler Foundation Mysteries series kept me interested all summer long. I didn’t always have a lot of time to read, so whenever I could steal a few moments, I was glued to these books! Each book contained mostly the same characters, although new ones were added too. So, by the last few books, I felt I really knew the carryover characters.

Oh the adventures in these books! Set in different places, there was just enough info that matched actual history and events, that they were close to believable. It was readily apparent that the author possessed a wealth of knowledge on several subjects, and he used it well to add details that really up my interest level!

It would be great if more re books could be added to the series! It’s easy to get hooked!

I was in two minds about this book. I love the Rossler series but wasn't sure about the dual storylines of the 8th cycle people and the current time. The tech was as exciting as ever, in fact more so, and I loved the use of holograms to haunt the bad guys - that made me laugh out loud several times, and the spyders and spy flies - where can I get one of those? Sadly the book ends on a cliff hanger and now I'm anxiously awaiting the next in the series to see what happens... 21 months since book 7 and no sign of it yet... :'(

On the negative side, there were a lot more silly grammatical mistakes in this book than previous ones. It would had benefited from a complete proofread and correction, only a small thing but noticeable.

I have been following the Rosslerites since day 1. I was so excited when Book 8 came out (Termination)…and then I realized that somewhere along the line Book 7 came out and I missed it. So, lucky me, I get to read two great books, back to back. It had been 4 years since I read the Phoenix Agenda, and these books are so memorable that I could pick up right where I left off with no problem...didn't have to reread anything to remind myself what was going on. That, in my mind, is the sign of a powerful author!

AN ABSOLUTELY AWESOME READ, START TO FINISH!!

I am totally addicted to these Rossler Foundation Mystery Books!! Once I start one, I really have a hard time, putting them down!!
Of course, there is always a nutcase, waiting for their turn to take over the world.
A take over of the White House, by a totally crazy nutcase, endangers all American citizens. The Rossler's of course, to the rescue! But, will they succeed this time??
You'll have read this book, to find out...LOL

Beyond Belief Thrilling and Inspiring!

This series never lets up. The action, the psychological analyses and the depths of good and evil portrayed are awe inspiring. Yet, in the end there is always a message of " hope".... and it appears that despite having surmounted yet another huge challenge, that " hope " will be sorely tested and once again desperately needed if our civilization is to prevail.... Do not miss this series! One of my favorites ever!

Excellent as always!

This book was really adventurous, and sometimes frustrating. My only concern was that the conflict was getting a little predictable. I t must be difficult to avoid that in a series. I still really enjoying it, and will be looking for the next installment!
