Blue is an interesting little graphic novella. The basic plot has been told hundreds of times, but the aesthetics this time around are different. It's a little darker, one of those stories where a little bit of hope starts to creep around the corners towards you and then it is swept away. It's not going to change your world, but it's a nice little escape into an urban fairy tale.

Love the illustration style. Love how the author uses a fairy tale as the base of her modern story. Love the shape-shifting element. Love the use of color for the character. Not in love with the plastination element, but whatever.

This book also includes the story "Yes, Mother".
