Kyle has flirted and laughed his way through the past few years. He’s been the funny guy, the one who always has a smile on his face. But what he’s hiding behind the smile is slowly tearing him apart. When he meets Katie, is she the beginning of his salvation or will he find more heartbreak after being drawn into her life?
Katie doesn’t have time for games. She’s got work, school, and her best friend to keep her busy. When Kyle forces his way in, she slowly starts to accept that maybe change can be a good thing. The football player is working his way into her heart, but will their newfound relationship be able to stand against the battle of a lifetime?

Sarah has been writing stories since she was eight years old. 26 years later, she finally achieved a lifelong dream of seeing one of her stories published. Married to her high school sweetheart, she spends much of her time writing, listening to music, and taking care of her two adorable minions (aka her children).
I received a voluntary ARC of this book for an honest review..
I LOVED Kyle and Katie in book 1, so it was really nice to see things from their point of view this time around and just more depth to their story than we got in the first book.
I think Kyle's humor is what clinched things for him and Katie. He's was cute and silly and fun. Katie was a pretty tough cookie on her own. They both love fiercely and it shows, to their friends, family and finally each other.
I did feel like this was almost like a retelling of book 1 from another perspective so it made me want to just gloss over some of the scenes because I already knew what was going to happen. That being said, I still loved this one more than the first just because I loved Kyle so much.
I'm hoping with Lauren's book we get a new story since she wasn't really in it too much. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what's going to happen with her.
Sarah is a fantastic story teller and I really encourage everyone to check out her books.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I AM HERE IF YOU NEED TO TALK, IF IT IS TOO MUCH, PLEASE REACH OUT TO SOMEONE EVEN IF IT IS A STRANGER.
This is book 2 in the Wings of life Series. It could be read as a standalone, however reading the first book would be recommended as the characters back stories are in book 1.
I was so happy to get to know more about Katie and Kyle in this book. Katie works at the bookstore for the college and Kyle is a football star hoping to get drafted. Kyle is determined to get Katie to like him even though he keeps telling himself he needs to focus on football. Katie doesn't want to hang out with "some dumb jock" so she is trying not to like Kyle at all.
Sarah King I was cursing you all through this book, in the best way. How in the heck did you write this book? I had to stop and cry several times, how you put this in book form is remarkable. The story behind each of these characters is worth reading this book. I don't want to give to much away but this book deals with depression and suicide. It is raw, detailed, and gut wrenching if you or someone you know have had or still have the feelings or tendencies. There is hope out there, and you are not alone. Ever.
Oh I just knew Kyle's story was going to be heart wrenching.. I am so glad he got to tell it..
When I first met him in the first book you new he had suffered something terrible but it didn't go into detail I'm so glad he got his own voice. This serious is absolutely wonderful. In the first book you see someone suffering from there anxiety/depression and in the second book you see how it affects people around them.
I hope that these stories help people understand they are not alone.. there is always someone out there that will listen and is willing to help.. I suffer with anxiety and depression myself and recently had to be reminded that I had people I could talk to.. that are willing to just listen when things get tough... you are not alone !
This was amazing. It took me too long to read, but not because I wasn't into it. I love these people. I feel for them. Sarah has done an amazing job telling the different sides and ways mental illness, anxiety and depression affect those who love the ones who live with these struggles. If you're on the fence about purchasing these books, I urge you to. Read. Learn and share. Love those around you even when it's tough. Never give up.
