It was enlighten to have read a book that the hero seen the light(what he had) and Hunter said the right words to describe how to bring Mallory down (clam) that she shouldn't live her life like others
What draws two people together is always fascinating as their story is untold. Commitment to another is one of the most beautiful gifts. How one affirms said commitment is truly a blessing. Mallory and Hunter's story is the standard you don't realize what you have until it's gone. Thus the beauty of a second chance at love. While the story is short it is developed for you to see the emotions and what pulls and evokes emotions.
Despite the reviews, I was disappointed. There was no conflict or intrigue just a sister asking her ex to see if her brother-in-law is cheating. It was pretty obvious from the beginning what was going on there. Anyway, as for the romance, there was not much build and this one wasn't for me.
A steamy one-night stand is all it should have been between Mallory Standish (event planner) and Hunter Sloan--one night with the sexy (P.I.) is about all she can handle. But relationship lasts four months, then things change for her, she changes the rules and asks for a commitment. Unfortunately, that’s not what Hunter’s interested in, and he lets all his prey know that from the start. But six months later when circumstances throw them back together and she thinks her brother-in-law is cheating on her sister, Mallory's decided she’s had enough. His way is better, no commitments…all men cheat, look at what happened to her mom! She’s through with love, she only wants sex, but the opposite has happened to Hunter, who hasn’t been with another woman since they broke up. The tables have turned He now knows he loves her. Can he convince her their love will stand the test of time...that even the baddest boys around can be tamed?
Hunter ended his relationship with Mallory because she wanted a commitment. He hadn't gotten over her. Then she needs his help to prove her brother-in-law is having an affair. Now Hunter is determined to get her back. He thinks lust is the only motivating him but then he realizes it is more. She is determined that there will be nothing between them because now she no longer trusts men. He is on a mission to show her that they are meant to be together. This was a good, short read. Enjoyed it a lot.
Although the book is short, the storyline is good and overall it's nice. I like that the main character Hunter realized his love for the other main character Mallory and helped her get over her insecurities.
Mallory was pissing me off throughout this book! I get what happened with her parents really hurt her but damn sis hunter ain’t deserve all that! Also I’m glad the outcome with the sister was what it was so Mallory could see ain’t all relationships are bad and end in heartbreak!
I love all Mrs. Jackson books. Love how they always come back together for whatever reason. I would recommend this book to whoever love reading. I rate this book because this is the rate that it deserve.
Not a lot of build and exploration of the romance (or characters), and having a P.I. find out if a husband is cheating storyline is played out. Especially since this didn't add a new twist to it.
I liked the past relationship between the two characters since it worked well with the length of the novella. Their chemistry was good, and I liked Mallory. Hunter didn't work for me though.
This was a good read, however, the plot centered mostly around Hunter and Mallory engaging in sex most of the time. This book does not hold a candle to Brenda Jackson's other books such as the Westmoreland Series or the Madaris Series.
