I never, ever, thought I would get into cowboy stories - wow, I'm loving it. So now on my list of reading material, apart from historical romance and dragons, I'm reading about sexy cowboys. What a mix and what next!
I love this series and can't wait to read book 3. Loved reading about Cody and Faith. It was sexy, entertaining and most enjoyable to read. 4☆

Vicki is another one of my favorite authors as all of the books that I have read by her are just so exciting. They are westerns and this cover is so good . I really like the story line and there is a little bit of the under the covers activity. Vicki hit the ball to left field and it went to the corner for a in the park homerun!

I was a firm believer that Vicki Lewis Thompson would always be known for her series "Sons of Chance" and she still will, but her new series "The McGavin Brothers" is her best yet! The series opener "A Cowboy's Strength" was a gem and I wasn't sure how Zane and Mandy's story could be topped, but Cody and Faith's love story has such a mix of humor, cowboyisms (my new word) and romance that the only way book #3, Ryker's story, will top it, will be by flying high! Literally.

Faith works for Cody's family and when he returns for a two week stay, she somehow talks him into helping her complete her careful sought out plan. But naive Miss Faith doesn't expect to fall for Cody nor does she plan on Cody falling in love with her. I'm not going into particulars on her plan, because you need to read the book to enjoy it all.

Faith is an experienced ranch hand, an only child and deathly afraid of change and until her Dad's interest is sparked in a new family friend, her life is perfect. Will she accept the change which includes the love of a gorgeous, romantic cowboy? Trust me, it's well worth the read!

I will say I laughed out loud at some of the humorous sayings in the book and my husband wasn't sure what I was reading. Normally, just a tear here or there when the love story hits a snag, but laughing? Nope.

I can't wait to see what Vicki has in store for Ryker McGavin!

I loved Cody and Faith. When Faith asked Cody for a favor it’s nothing he expected. He had to pull his truck over. He didn’t even know how to answer her.
First she offers to provide her horse for his trip he’s going on. But there’s a string attached to it. She wants him to be her first. As she puts it “deflower her”...I was rolling so hard by some of things Faith said. Cody was thinking about it, but at first wasn’t so sure it was a good idea. When she was first hired him and his brother didn’t know is she was a girl at all.
She worse baggy clothes. He was a little curious about what was underneath. It could be fun he though, but they had to keep it quiet until he left.
What he didn’t expect was for this feeling to come over him. He hoped she felt the same.
They both felt it. He knew it.
Now something wasn’t right.

Buy this book and see what happens.
I loved this one so much.
So moving.

This story was part of a bundle I purchased called THE MCGAVIN BROTHERS BOXED SET: Books 1-3

I enjoyed this story more than the first one. This had humor and great banter between the MC's. I loved the innocent discussions they had together, especially her being deflowered (her words).

Lovemaking outside of marriage - heat level 5 out of 5 and described many times. Romance builds slowly and I liked their journey to HEA.

Interesting secondary characters too added to this story. No villains, just two people trying to figure out their future.

No cheating, no cliffhanger, plenty of steam, 2 crude words and 1 Lord's name used in vain. This is a standalone story so you won't be lost. I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase or not. (ljb)

I had such a blast reading this book! Faith was so open and willing to jump in without fear. Some of her dialogue had me cracking up! And Cody was one of the awesomest cowboys yet. I love that he was so set against taking her up on her offer until she hopped in the truck! I will forever remember that scene. The camping equipment, the candles, it goes on... You had to know he was going to be kicking himself for not buying the first trailer! I can't wait to see if Ms. Thompson can top this with the next story in the series!

Cody McGavin runs the Wild Creek Ranch with his brothers. Faith Underwood is hired as a riding instructor. Cody wants to buy a horse and Faith makes Cody a proposition that she would loan him her horse Bert in exchange that Cody would deflower her. Cody was surprised by Faith’s proposition and assures her that losing her virginity was not the kind of payment he had in mind. I really enjoyed this marvelous western romance novel.

Wow, this is the best cowboy romance I have read this year!!! Cody is sexy, cool, calm & collective but Faith rattles that cage with her outlandish proposition. Her antics are hilarious & I think I've read some of the same romance books that she did, lol. This author never fails, I love that the emphasis is on romance and the cowboy life doesn't dominate the story. Can't wait to read the next book in the great series!!!

Cody McGavin has a bit of a dilemma. He has been given a proposition by his mums new ranch hand Faith. When Faith first showed up Cody and his brother were actually quite glad she didnt appear to be a stunning looking girl, that way there would be no problems with harrassment from the male ranch hands, and he never gave her a second glance. When he is approached by Faith and she tells him she is a virgin and that she has choosen him to be the one to deflower her, he thinks shes lost the run of herself. Faith is obsessed with histotical romances and having been brought up by her father, surrounded by men, she is very naive in the ways of the heart and doesn't realise no one talks like that. Cody thinks shes kidding, but soon realises she is deadly serious, so they have to plan how and when it will happen, with Cody trying to explain that no one wants to do it in a field in the moonlight unless you have a quantity of soft blankets because it does nobody any favours by wrecking your back and knees ! The deed is done and they both want more, but Cody doesnt want anyone else seeing whats under the big shirts, baggy jeans and massive cowboy hat. He wants to keep her all to himself. A secret romance ensues, with Faith suddenly becoming more confident and wearing clothes that actually fit her perfectly much to Codys dismay. A funny read as we watch this bloom into a lovely relationship, but with a few hiccups along the way.

Quick & Dirty summary: Cody McGavin isn’t even sure Faith Underwood is a girl when she suddenly propositions him. But once Faith makes her offer: Cody “deflowers” her and she’ll lend Cody her horse for his trip, he can’t stop thinking about her. Faith has spent most of her life around men, but she hasn’t given a lot of thought to love or sex. When she meets Cody . What she hadn’t bargained on was Cody being more than she dreamed.

This is a sweet, sweet novel. It’s short, relatively uncomplicated, and heartfelt. This is, in my opinion, the quintessential romance novel. There’s some sex, but mostly there’s a lot of exploration. Faith explores who she is as a woman and how she defines that in this book and it’s something I can relate to, at least. Plus, Cody is one of the best hero’s. He’s not chauvinist, he’s not arrogant, he’s not a jerk—he’s a polite, well-mannered cowboy who loves his momma and doesn’t run away from his feelings. He is probably my dream man.

Is it worth buying? (Kindle $0.99)
Yes! It’s a super sweet novel that is well worth the dollar!

This is the second book of the author’s series, The McGavin Brothers. All handsome men of honor, courage and family values.
This one centers around the youngest of them, Cody. Cody is considered the “spoiled” one, though he really is a sweet man who seems to attract women without effort. He comes home in order to get ready to fulfill his long time dream of visiting the land and videotaping the experience.
Faith is a young woman who was hired to assist his Mom as a horse trainer. She is inexperienced in life and proposes a deal to Cody. She will lend him her horse in exchange he will “ deflower” her.
Let’s just say it’s a sweet story from beginning to end.
My instinct is that it’s a 3.5 star book. As a mature adult , I found it ok and sweet, but not memorable. Probably a 3 star. On the other hand, I can see the appeal to the younger reader (20s and 30s). In that case , it would be a 4 star. Since I love this talented author, I will err on the safe side and give it a 4 star.

This is the second book in the new McGavin brother series. In this book we meet up with the youngest brother Cody. He is home preparing for a two month adventure trip taking him into the wild where he will be videotaping his adventure. While home preparing for the trip he meets newcomer Faith. She has moved to the area with her dad Jim and wants Cody to "deflower". Faith has been raised by her dad and only knows the cowboy ways. She want Cody to help her feel what she's been missing. The two meet up and in the process they fall for each other. A very entertaining and enjoyable book. The humor is great and the book is well worth reading. Can't wait to read the next book they keep getting better.

Can I give this more than 5 Stars? Vicki's new series THE MCGAVIN BROTHERS has me hooked. I loved Zane and Mandy and I am glad I get to visit them in Cody and Faith's story A COWBOY'S HONOR. The fact that Faith is so innocent at her age and is talking about be "deflowered" made me blush at my age... Cody...what can I say about him... he is just the right guy for the job... Again Vicki has outdone herself and I can only hope and pray that Ryker, Trevor and Bryce get their own stories....

A fun fast paced read. I enjoyed getting to know Cody, the cute flirty McGavin with the heart as big as the Montana sky, and Faith Underwood, a cowgirl ready to find out what all the books and cowboys have been talking about.

Faith may be naive and inexperienced, but after laying eyes on Cody, who returned home to help out his mom when she broke her leg and round up the necessary gear for his lifelong adventure, she figures a guy like is just the one to teach her about sex. And, to make it fair and interesting foe him, she offers to loan him her horse for use during his impending trip. Plus, it'll help her out since she just doesn't have enough time to properly exercise her horse and her dad's too, and it saves him the cost of buying a horse he'll only have to sell in a couple of months when his grand adventure is done.

Try as he might, Cody ultimately gives in and agrees to help her out. They agree to a few evenings together before he leaves, but to keep it quiet, since it's just sex. Their families might not understand the arrangement, and she does work for his mom. But, if he's gonna do it, be one time walk on the wild side, he wants it to be good for her, something she won't forget. So he brings out candles and makes sure she's always as comfortable as possible. It's just fun... right?

There's no "wash, rinse, repeat" to this brief arrangement. Who knew Faith was hiding a knockout body under all those baggy western shirts and jeans or that you could burn down an entire forest with the heat consuming.

As is typical of VLT books, the supporting cast add the extra something that keeps ya turning pages from one book to the next to see how things turn out for them too.

Enjoyed the family dynamics between the McGavins as well as between Faith and her dad. Also great to see how things are playing out for Zane and Mandy, from the first McGavin Brother's book, "A Cowboy's Strength, and Zane's raptor rescue thanks to The Whine and Cheese club. Awesome to see Mandy's passion for her design inspired by Faith as a means to help with the program.

Thanks Vicki for the ARC and the opportunity to spread the word about such an interesting series. So far, haven't @met" a McGavin male yet who didn't steal a little piece of my heart. You write such believable, lovable characters.
